“I used the card for vacation in August. When I got the card they gave me a credit limit of $500. On October 4, 2024 I received a text message stating that they were liwering my credit limit to $250. When I called to find out why, it’s apparently because my other cards are too high - you know, the cards with $5,000 to $7,000 are too high. Keep in mind that I am current on all my payments and after returning from vacation all of my cards are now within the 30% of my credit limit and I did not miss any payments with Barclays. In fact, they now owe me $3.37, which will take them 5 days to write a check and get out to me. I have placed a “Fraud” alert for Barclays on all credit reports. There was no reason for them to lower my limit, or to check on my credit history. I will no longer stay at a Wyndham hotel and Hilton has sent me a card with a $2,000 credit limit. I will be using Hilton going forward. When I called the customer service department for Barclays I was told they could increase my limit. Than why did you decrease it? If I could give 1/2 a star I would. PS Barclays must be having financial difficulties.”
“I am open to share my experience with bitcoin investment and losing money to scammers. However, yes it is possible to recover your stolen bitcoins. I never believed in bitcoin recovery because i was made to understand that it was not possible. However, sometime in August i fell for a forex scam which promised overly high returns and i ended up losing close to $1,170,000. I searched for a month for help until i finally came across an article on reddit in regards to recovering stolen cryptocurrency so i reached out to her at:: t h e r e s a c h i n 1 2 1 2 (at) g m a i l . c o m was so scared and skeptical because i have heard of bad experiences but i decided to give them a try and to my greatest surprise i was able to get all my stolen bitcoins recovered from the scammers within a very short time frame. I don’t know if i’m allowed to share the links on here but you can contact Call/WhatsApp:: + 1 2 3 4 3 0 0 1 5 4 4 if you also need help.”
“I've had the Barclay card for at least 10 years if not more. Because I have not been using their card lately they decided that I didn't need the 10,000 credit line I have and dropped me down to $3,000. Of course because of that drop my credit score has dropped 41 points because my ratio of open to buy and credit use has turned Topsy turvy. To be honest this infuriated me. There was no reason to do that and as I read the reviews here I see they have been doing that to many people not just me. It seems almost petty and perhaps even being done as a punishment for not using their card. I am sure others are not using their card for the same reason I have not been. High APRs and lack of a good balance transfer offer. So what I did was I immediately applied for a new card with a different bank which I got approved for instantly and for more money than they have lowered my available credit to. All I can say is I work for a bank and they would never do anything like this to our card holders especially without telling them first. A letter prior to lowering the credit line perhaps but not after the fact. Really poor customer service.”
“This company has been terrible to deal with. I had my purse stolen and reported it immediately that my card had been stolen. I gave the police report number and lots of other info. I get a letter back that the investigation showed that because the card has a chip and it was determined the card was in my possession (how was that determined when it was stolen?!) that they reverted the charges on me. I will never use this card again!”
“Customer service is the worse I have ever experienced. They have off shored their customer service / dispute department and it is unfortunate I could not explain my dispute to anyone after days/ hours on the phone. They just kept reading to me verbatim the letter they sent me in reference to my dispute, repeating over and over the same thing. Asked to speak to supervisor, he was off shore also and could not help me, was told to fax a letter to the "office of the President" but that fax number just rings and rings, no connection. POOR POOR customer service”
“This used to be a great credit card but then apparently about a year ago(according to the service representative) they changed the way they charged interest. Now if you’re credit card isn’t 100% paid off every month then whenever you make a purchase they will instantly start charging you interest on your most purchase. Worst credit card ever. And was I notified of this change? No. I hadn’t used the card in almost a year. But when I called about this crazy amount of interest being charged the lady kept saying if you divide that number by one you get the interest you see there. As if dividing by one actually changed the number. By far worst experience ever. Oh and then to top it off if you don’t pay off the credit card at least 2 months in a row then you’ll always pay interest on every purchase as you make them. Total garbage.”
“barclaycard, never missed a payment sometimes payed double. Today I went to pay and found I was maxed on my card, this is because barclaycard decided to cut my credit limit byv40% of my balance. This has affected my credit score now. Barclaycard are total con artists and a company you should not deal with. I don't usually swear but they are totally dumb. I hope they rot in hell. The ceo snd directors are not fit to run toy car, they are of very low intelligence with no integrity also for info I have been with barclays for over 25”
“Worst credit car ever. While our Explanation of Benefit shows we owed nothing (and provided the EOB to Barclays Card), the dentist debits our credit card on file - WITHOUT OUR AUTHORIZATION. The insurance company confirms, that we owed nothing ! Barclays will NOT reverse the charge - AS WE CAN NOT PROVIDE A RECEIPT FOR THE UNAUTHORIZED DEBIT. !!!!
Is that not rich! Someone debits your card without authorization, and Barclays takes THEIR SIDE.
SO one thing is for sure - Barclays will not be on your side !
We are closing the account after 20 years (in the beginning it was an AMEX Card = never a problem - BARCLAYS SUCKS)”
“I Been A customer of Barclay for many years and I would have given them a 5 star review every day off the week but not now i wouldn't recommend them to anyone .. I asked for a credit increase 6 months ago and they pulled a credit on me which lowered my score and because I haven't used the card in a few months. They lowered my card limit from 13000 down to 5000 that's %&_%^^ of Them,. And I would not recommend them to anyone for a credit card worst company i've ever dealt with now. They want you to keep a high balance on your card so they can make a lot off your high percentage rate which you would never get paid off. You grandkids would be paying off the card If I could give a Black Star I would .”
“I have been a customer over 10 years
With a good standard credit score 840+
My credit limit has been 25,000 with them
They drive me to 10.019
lol
Like the 19 will make difference
This company is so ridiculous
I don’t want a soft inquiry because I’m not gonna use it at this point
I told him I’ve been having this for 10 years and the money sit there in case if I need to make a big purchase
I think we just start screw under their customer”
“I aquired a Barclaycard back when they had a relationship with Apple. I used it to purchase a few iPhones and more than one laptop. Probably spent $5k over a few years. I credit is excellent and I really don't need to carry credit card balances. They lost their relationship with Apple so I hadn't used the card for a few years. They sent to me a letter stating that if I didn't use my card they would close my account and they did. "F" them! They say that closing credit accounts that you've had for some time can negatively effect your credit score but they don't seem to give a rat's ass. Will I ever do business with them again? No! Will I tell everyone I know? Yes.....”
“Don’t waste your time. I was approved in 2011-2012 received a $1500 credit limit. After annually requesting soft pull for credit card increase I received an additional $400 dollars after 4 years. Meanwhile other cards provided me with 25k plus limits. I spend roughly 5k a month and the $1900 limit did not provide even 50 percent of that which led to me barely using the card. They ended up canceling my card after never missing or ever being late on a single payment. Was able to collect 66$ and some change which was from rewards. But, imo seek elsewhere.”
“This company is a total scam... They allowed a breach, paid out the fraud and then told me it was my problem? Cancelled accounts will never use anything backed by this company.. You all should be very very afraid of this company.”
“I have been a loyal customer for over six years, but my recent experience with their customer service has been extremely disappointing. Without any prior notice or explanation, my account was suddenly closed. When I contacted customer service to resolve the issue, the situation only deteriorated. The representatives I spoke to were not only unhelpful but also rude. Communication was frustratingly difficult, with one agent hanging up on me after a 30-minute conversation. To make matters worse, another representative provided me with incorrect information. Overall, this has been the most frustrating and unacceptable customer service experience I've ever encountered”
“Closed the account for no explicable reason but then promised to reopen it but then application services insisted on a new card which I had no use for. Waste of time and money and credit.”
“I have had a Barclay Master card for about 6 years now and have never been late on a payemnt. For the last year, I have been fortunate enough to pay off my card charges (an average of$500-$800) each month, negating any interest charges. My FICO is 824. I just received a letter from Barclay stating that because I do not use my credit limit of around $20K, they are lowering it to $5K. Ridiculous and unacceptable. I am penalized (a lower limit could negatively impact my credit rating) for being responsible. I contacted them, and they want me to reapply to reinstate the higher limit. No. I think I will use my AMEX gold card with no preset spending limit!”
