“I have special needs and disabled and had a Direct Debit fail. I tried paying it within minutes, but Admiral's app wouldn't let me. I kept trying, and it wouldn't let me pay. I eventually called two days later to pay, yet they still insist on charging me £5.
What disgusts me is that when I explained my disabilities and how this had affected me, Admiral repeatedly used the excuse that I hadn't told them about my disabilities when I took out the policy.
Apparently, because I didn't disclose my disabilities sooner, which make me forgetful and struggle with finances, they don't see any reason to reconsider how they've treated me or change their stance.
I've complained several times, but all I get is the same excuses about their procedures and terms and conditions. Absolutely no compassion or common sense.
I've now taken this to the Financial Ombudsman. If this is how Admiral treats disabled customers who are actively trying to pay, I'd seriously think twice before insuring a car with them.”
