“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to African Overland Tours for making my journey from Cape Town to Victoria Falls (August 7th to 27th) an unforgettable experience. A very special thank you goes to Reshma, who supported me from the very first contact. She was exceptionally kind, patient in answering all my questions, and fully dedicated to designing the perfect trip for me, taking all my wishes into account. The guides on the tour were fantastic – funny, knowledgeable about the animals, and also great cooks and drivers. They truly made the experience unforgettable. The journey itself exceeded all my expectations. The landscapes of Namibia – for example the Namib Desert and its stunning dunes – were simply unforgettable. The experiences along the way, from a peaceful canoe ride, beautiful hiking on dunes, quad biking in the desert to helicopter flights over the Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls, were truly breathtaking. One of the most moving highlights for me was an encounter with an elephant. Sitting just three meters away, our eyes met for nearly ten minutes – an incredibly powerful and emotional moment I will never forget. In summary: this was not just a trip, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

“When travelling to South Africa for the Comrades Marathon we were keen to add a tour on to our visit and see some of the magical animals and scenery on offer. We cannot speak highly enough about our contact and dealings with Lee Van Staden who from our first contact was efficient, friendly and working hard to find just the right tour for us to fit around the Comrades. As well as suggesting for us an 18 day Eco Tour to meet our identified needs, Lee provided really helpful advice about all things travel ranging from what to pack to suggestions for local food and drink and even ideas about South African gemstones! We talked with Lee for more than 6 months organising our trip and now that we are back home in Australia we can see how her organisation and knowledge made a real difference to what was a fantastic holiday including an awesome Comrades experience! “We recently booked 2 tours with AOT - a JNB to Capetown - few days in Cape Town, then onwards from Cape to Vic Falls. We have travelled with Nomad in the past so initially approached them directly with questions, however, in the interim, had also contacted AOT and Reshma Deva reached back across the divide between Africa and Australia - almost instantly. She has answered all our questions, guided us the whole way through the booking process and even (above and beyond) - pointed out a tour option, that we didn’t even realise was an option, which will make the whole trip just so much better. I’m not entirely sure when she sleeps - but we are so happy to have made her aquaintance. If the tours are even remotely as good as the booking experience we have had with Reshma and AOT - then we will be over the moon. Hard to believe it will be this time next year before we are on the first tour.”

“Lee was my contact before the trip, and she was amazing. Answering all odd questions of a first timer africa traveller, plus giving tips and inside knowledge. Regarding the trip it self ( cape town to vic falls) i knew that this was going to be special, but the level of "specialness" reached new levels with Nomad and OAT. Our tour leaders Mandla and Artlyn... I have no words to describe their kindness, sympathy, organization and patience. They were the soul of the trip when we already had the magnificent landscapes. The accommodations were highly above expectations ( for me they were even luxuorious, as i am a budget traveller). I asked Mandla what is his favourite accommodation on this tour and he said i cant answer, but ask me again in the end and see if you can answer... Well i didnt ( in terms of confort all were outstanding, in terms of WTF - elephant sands takes the prize) We saw heaps of animals - lions, zebras, anthilopes, mongoose, hyenas, wild dogs, crocs, hippos, elephants, girafes, bufalos, rhinos, and heaps of birds. The breakfast at dune 45 is something i will never forget ( so simple, yet so amazing). Overlanding is not vacationing, and the roads in Africa will elevate your level of "bumpiness" to estratosphere 😅 but its all part of the adventure. In the end what can resume this trip is - "if you dont go you will never know" Africa is so much more than you could ever imagine.”

“I recently returned from an unforgettable overlanding trip through Namibia Botswana and Zambia, and I have Reshma to thank for making it all happen so smoothly. From start to finish, she was absolutely amazing—quick to respond, super helpful with all my questions, and always willing to hop on a call to walk me through the details. The trip itself was incredible. Seeing lions and elephants up close in Chobe was a real highlight, and the mokoro (dugout canoe) safari through the Okavango Delta was such a peaceful, unique experience. Watching elephants gather at the waterhole right in the center of the lodge at Elephant Sands was another unforgettable moment. Our guides, Pilli Pilli and Kombu, were equally fantastic. They were not only incredibly knowledgeable about the region, wildlife, and local cultures, but also brought so much energy, humor, and warmth to the trip. They created such a fun and safe atmosphere for everyone on the tour—it truly wouldn’t have been the same without them. If you're considering an adventure like this, I can't recommend Reshma enough. She took all the stress out of planning and made sure everything was in place for a truly epic journey.”

“I did the 21 day tour of Namibia and Botswana. It started in Victoria Falls, amazing and went to the desert, the delta by canoe and endless landscape. Everyday was original and amazing, the accommodations were top notch. This tour was perfect for me, many 2 night stays, so you got to relax more. The price was reasonable for all you saw and stayed. My tour rep, Reshma, was outstanding. Helped with any question I had, and recommended several optional tours. She always responded to my emails and made me feel very comfortable with my choice of tours. Highly recommend this company and very incredible tours.”

“We booked our 20 day Cape Town To Victoria Falls tour with Nomad through AOT. Never having booked a holiday with an overseas agent I was nervous. No need to be. Lee was amazing, helping us plan the holiday and answering all our questions promptly. The adventure was amazing, definitely not a holiday. “Celia at African Overland tours is amazing! Nothing was too much trouble. She went out of her way to help with my changing mind and changing tours. It was a huge relief to know she had my best interests at heart, even suggesting that another tour may be fine for me even though it wasn't on her books. She wanted to make sure that I had the experience that I wanted, not one that was the easiest for HER to sell to me. Communication was excellent even with the time difference and being able to talk on the phone despite the time difference was very helpful. I would highly recommend Celia and African Overland Tours for anything Africa. They seem to know all about all of it!”
