I’ve had a truly frustrating experience with Airwallex. What should have been a simple issue has turned into a 2-week nightmare — and it’s still unresolved. The biggest problem? Customer support is virtually non-existent. I’ve had to chase them repeatedly, send multiple messages, and still, no one takes ownership or offers a clear solution. It feels like I’m shouting into the void. There’s no phone number, no way to escalate, and certainly no urgency from their side. For a company that claims to support businesses, this lack of basic service and communication is unacceptable. If you're looking for reliability and responsive support, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. I regret trusting Airwallex and will be actively exploring other platforms. Business owners deserve better.

I have an account for a few months, but can't send any money, to any country. Airwallex is asking questions after questions, without even reading your response, they don't trust their customers and it doesn't matter if you provide documentation or not. In my case I've answered too many times but still wasn't enough. What do they need? They don't say. Obviously, they have too many clients and they don't need more.

We are an Australian chartered accounting practice who recommended to our client's to use Airwallex for international transfers. We have witnessed Airwallex immediately close a client's account without any prior notice or warning, cutting off their ability to access their funds that were in the account. This is unconscionable behaviour from a financial services provider. We will be moving all clients off the platform and onto Wise.

My company uses airwallex in Hong Kong. They have very limited customer service capability here, no phone can access them, their email reply takes at least 1 day to reply (looks like they support from overseas, send them a msg in the morning, earliest they reply is your evening after work), called thru to their other country hotline, hotline said they cannot help, not their supported country and pointed me back to email). We had two incidents where the money transferred took weeks to resolve which none of these were our issue and one of it delayed due to airwallex’s issue. Caused us hefty penalties on delay from our vendor. If u can get a proper bank account, don’t use airwallex would be my advice!

I applied for an account for my established consulting practice. I've never had any issues in the past with invoicing, banking, and, in fact, AirWallex invited me to apply for an account 4 years ago. They supplied no reason, and their decision making lacks transparency, and felt incredibly arbitrary and, frankly, wrong. It also took them less than 10 mins to review, so their claims of a thorough review process lack credibility and credence.

Sent money to an investee on behalf of my father for a time sensitive matter like I have done many times in the past. Airwallex flagged it and has been holding the money for days. The reason? I used the truncated version of my father's first name(Steve vs Stephen) and his FULL last name in the reference for the transfer and this was enough to set off alarms. Now this time sensitive matter is becoming critical as my father and I race to figure out alternative ways to get the money to the investee while Airwallex holds my money. we cannot and will not use Airwallex again as they are unreliable and incompetent.

Be careful - read trust pilot reviews! They use automated review.io email probably for only people who they approve accounts and not transparent! Another not properly regulated institution entering the UK market and being supper elective and probably discriminative about their onboarding process. They should be banned imitating any business and provide full explanation for any rejection. This is a response we have received : I understand this decision can cause frustration if you do not get the outcome you were hoping for. While we cannot disclose the reasoning for any decisions around why an application has been rejected, we do take time to carefully review each case and ensure a fair review process has been undertaken. There should be a transparent and free information basis on these companies. Who would know if the person who rejected the application wasn’t discriminative ? What safeguard is in place for these pop up firms ?
