“Yes, a parking ticket for not registering car. Have never visited before, did not see signage as was late at night and dark, did not stay long, 30 minutes only, shopped in Aldi and did not leave car to go anywhere else. This carpark could be monitored with a camera system. Clearly this system is designed to catch people out. I Won’t be back.”

“Disabled shopper fined for not noticing or being informed by staff about Aldi parking system. Wrote to parking eye with receipt from Aldi but no notice taken of it and still insist fine is paid. Won’t be shopping there again!”

“As many others have said, popped in for some bits, saw no signage, and was not reminded by a cashier, and now have a £70 fine. Don’t understand how this is legal, absolutely livid.”

“As many others have mentioned not our usual Aldi but happen to be in Wokingham for dinner , decided to pop in for a few items , didn’t notice the signage as I don’t tend to walk around looking up in the air and we didn’t register the number plate , £40 fine even though we can prove we had shopped their no reminder from check out staff as your web site stated and didn’t really notice the terminals on the way out either . So your signage in store or leaving the store must be pretty poor or none existing !A good will gesture would be if you can prove you have shopped in your store the fine should be revoked but I gather this is not the case so my only conclusion this is a deliberate case of raising funds and you are not interested in your customers . I’ll give you 14 days to put this right by contact me by email or you we lose a customer for good . Your choice and I will shop at Lidl .”

“Prices are excellent. The food I’ve bought has always been good. A young man on the till called Jackson Clark is always friendly, helpful and chatty. I always go to him if he’s there. I have shopped at Waitrose for many years but Aldi prices are so much cheaper. Saves me loads of money. Good plants outside as well.”

“wife received a £70 pound fine, reduced for £40 - after spending over £120 on a weekly shop. The "checkout" process of your registration is fairly new - and the touch pads to check out are fairly hidden at the back of the shop. Just improve the signage in the store would be a help. Print it on the reciept, or a big yellow sign as you leave. Like most people on this post, won't be going to Aldi again.”

“Just received a letter saying I have a parking fine after a trip to Aldi Wokingham and spending over £100!!! I’ve got a bank statement to prove it aswell. At no point did a cashier remind me to log my number plate and as this must be a relatively new system I’d have expected a bit more of a prompt. I won’t be using this Aldi again which is a shame as it’s a nice store!”

“I usually shop at Aldi Bracknell but a few weeks back decided to go to the Wokingham store as I was in the area. Bracknell store has np parking/ registration system and it never entered my head that Wokingham Aldi would have. I was in Aldi doing my shop, 33 minutes apparently, left the shop and car park, saw no notices to alert me about the “system” there. A few days later I received a parking charge notice from Parkingeye. I appealed attaching a copy of my receipt and the appeal has been rejected. Definitely will never shop there again! This was definitely NOT deliberate abuse of the system and I am actually really upset about it.”

“I've been here twice and both times received a fine... It is NOT clear you have to pay... Then you get hounded by the parking fine people relentlessly... Aldi needs to do something about this”

“Just moved into the area - was a loyal Aldi shopper previously but that ends today with a parking fine. Signage is not obvious and I saw nothing to alert me in store. Shopped In store for 31mins - no reminder or prompt from cashier to register my vehicle. Never returning. Not to this or any other Aldi.”

“There appears to be a large number of people writing negative reviews regarding the parking conditions of the store The Store Car park is intended for the use of the store and not the local shops and play areas. Due to historic abuse of the car park they have introduced the Parking Eye system to ensure adequate spaces are available for genuine customers using the store There is clear signage in and around the car park, entrance to the store, checkouts, packing bench and upon exit If you are a genuine customer that has forgotten to register your vehicle upon exit and/or failed to use the terminal correctly you can simply speak to one of the team who will be happy to help and have the ticket cancelled for you There is plenty or signage visible if you are a genuine customer. Anyone that has received a fine is no doubt someone that has used the car park but not the store, or failed to use the terminals correctly.”

“Usually use Aldi for my weekly shopping. Popped in to get a few items one evening. Unfortunately forgot to register on the parking eye terminal instore. I have the receipt for the visit. Didn't go over the allowed free parking time allowed. Parking eye have issued a penalty and fine of £70 reduced to £40 if paid early. I appealed. This has been rejected. Anyone else had this issue. Surely with a legitimate reason for parking there and receipt to prove would be enough for the fine to be revoked. Not with Aldis parking Eye”

“I’m new to Aldi Wokingham and assumed parking in their car park was permitted and to receive a fine from BPA £40 for parking in it! Disgusting as I saw nothing stating park & pay! If you go 2mins down the road to Lidl is far better and NO charge to park!!”

“I’ve been an Aldi shopper for as long as I can remember, but no more. I parked at Aldi Wokingham as I have done literally dozens of times before and ended up with a £70 fine. Absolutely disgraceful! Lidl are literally a short drive away and have themselves a new customer. By principle I will never spend a penny there again nor will any of my family members. Avoid at all costs!”

“Why the hell Aldi is sending penalty notice. I live in Earley, Reading. It happened to visit Aldi, Wokingham as any other Aldi Shopping site , i have visited the Alidi and did some shopping. Came home 70£ Penalty notice. There is no warning message highlighted at least in Aldi entrance to check-in your car. Why somebody thinks this WOKINGHAM Aldi is SUPER SPECIAL in stealing Money from customer. Very bad experience. I am writing this to different authorities to take some action. Keep clear instructions. If you are super Special HILIGHT NOTICE that you are Super Special ALDI shop.”
