Horrible airline experience. Extremely delayed flights, no communication, no customer service, no flight credits, no refunds. I’ll never use American Airlines again.

Horrible service horrible accommodations we paid for exit row seats and they refused to allow us to get them back and then they let a child sit in the exit row. Bazs and James at Dallas Fort Worth threatened me and said they had my information. All because I allied why they were ignoring me when I had been waiting at the counter while they gossiped and ignored their jobs. Flight attendant Tamie on flight AA1456 let a child sit in the exit row mid flight until it landed. Due to crew not being available we were forced to have canceled flight and delayed flight one after another and ended up taking over 24 hours to travel. We were given no resolution to the behavior of the crew and no reimbursement for our extra travel costs caused by AA

CONSIDER ANOTHER AIRLINE!!! American Airlines has been making waves this year with some jarring changes. First, the paid shortcut to earning status raised some eyebrows, and now the airline has ended earning on basic economy fares. Yes, you read that right. Starting today, if you purchase a basic economy flight with American Airlines, you will no longer earn miles, nor will you earn rewards towards elite status. To make matters worse, it seems the carrier tried to do so quietly, thinking no one would notice. In my opinion, this is a really bad move on top of all the other confounding changes the airline has made. But this is why I always preach that you shouldn’t be loyal to one airline or card. It’s better to have a diverse set of cards in your wallet with high transferability on rewards. I don’t love the trend that we are seeing of airlines increasingly skimping on basic economy. It seems like big carriers are taking away more and more from their biggest customer base, and at that point, you might as well fly Frontier or Spirit instead of having any loyalty to an airline. While a few other airlines have similar policies, it’s down to the airline how they approach rewards. So, if you’re an AAdvantage member looking for a new card, perhaps you should look into some of the other credit cards

Fight delayed 7 hours due to incoming flight turning around at the gate. Understandable. Gate agents taking twenty to thirty minutes to book customers on the many available alternative flights not. We booked Business class and our line moved far slower than the economy line. You have got to be kidding. Is it the technology or a lack of training? I don’t know but either way American Airlines marketing should be”Better than Spirit!” But barely.

We had a family trip scheduled from the Dominican Republic to Denver. Our flight was on Monday, and from the very beginning, our first flight was delayed — the flight from the Dominican Republic to Miami. It was supposedly delayed first due to weather, and then because of air traffic. However, we had a connection to make, and we also had to go through immigration, but our gates were extremely far apart. In the end, we had to go and rebook our flight, and we ended up waiting nearly six hours just to be assisted and have our flights rebooked. We were a family of 11 people, including four young children. Eventually, we were only able to get a flight for Wednesday, meaning we had to stay an extra day in Miami, covering all expenses ourselves. On the flight from Miami to Denver, we had a layover in Dallas. During the Dallas to Denver leg, we were also forced to wait for about 40 minutes inside the plane. No explanation was given — just more waiting inside the aircraft. It has been extremely complicated to finally make it to Denver. The flights were constantly delayed or had some kind of issue, the service was very poor, and we weren’t even offered proper options, not only in terms of refunds but also other alternatives to make the situation easier for us. Honestly, I believe the treatment we received from American Airlines was absolutely terrible.

AA confirmed my travel, but because of an overbooked flight, they sent me emails the day before departure requesting for reimbursement if I rescheduled to go later that day. I said no. They emailed me to let me know that my flight was canceled hours before it was scheduled. In fact, the flight was still in progress. To make it work for them, they simply overbooked and canceled the trip for a few economy reservations. Even though they provided me a free reserving, it wasn't for the same day. All of my plans were wrecked. I'm going to terminate my AA membership. cannot be relied upon to protect their clients' interests.

AA confirmed my flight & then the day before departure they sent emails asking to compensate me if I would rebook to leave at a later time on the same day due to an overbooked flight. I declined. Hours before the flight they emailed that they cancelled my flight. The flight was actually still happening. They had simply overbooked & just cancelled the flight for a few economy bookings to make it work for them. The rebooking they offered me (with no compensation) wasn't even for the same day. It ruined all my plans. I will be closing my account with AA. Can't be trusted to look after the interest of their customers.

Website? Doesn't work. Planes? They're old. Food? It's terrible. Schedule? Arrive at bad times, leave at even worse times.

I am writing on behalf of a passenger. Incident occurred on the plane when passenger was sitting and had a celo fall on her head while she was already seated in her seat. It was determined that she go to hospital to get checked out and was told by the manager not worry, that they would look after her. After medically cleared, was informed she had to find her own way back to the airport and get a hotel. Nursing staff helped deal with situation and eventually American Airlines relunctantly paid for a hotel, but refused to pay for taxi back to the airport. The hospital ended up paying for taxi back to the airport. Passenger was upset as she was reassured by the manager and that would look after her and they did not carry out their word. American Airlines should be held accountable as this incident occurred on their watch and maybe they need to have stricter rules as to what can be a carry on item or they need to be stored somewhere else on the plane to avoid injures occurring to their passengers.
