“Very nice hotel, combination old part for general things and a modern part fot rooms. Very friendly staff. But giving 5 is mayby just a bit to much, if it should be very busy in the hotel the old part is too small to enjoy the facilities. But I should recommend.”

“The hotel was quiet when I stayed, service was generally very good. The hotel is close to major roads - whichever direction you are heading in. It weas a very handy stop over with no real negatives for the purpose of my visit.”
“Very good value for money. Bit hectic in the restaurant on Saturday as there was a wedding on which led to a delay on table availablility but staff were very pleasant in dealing with the issue. The attraction for us is the grounds. Its lovely to be able to have a long walk without leaving the hotel grounds.”
“We found our stay overall good, with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and in good decorative order. The only comment we would make is that perhaps the restaurant menu was perhaps not extensive enough in the choices it offered. However, the menu food available was well presented and of good quality. Would stay again, and in fact bringing eight friends to stay at the hotel in Dumfries whilst on a golfing break at the beginning of June.”
“Everything was OK some miss information. We had an early start and were told that the chef would be early and cook us breakfast. This was not so. The night porter actually made us toast and brought cereal and tea and coffee which I thought was really good as it was not his job. Room was comfortable and everything else was OK.”

“Having been at the hotel a few times this year on business already the stay was much as expected and adequately comfortable. However, service at breakfast was slow I think partly as it was the busiest I have seen it. The staff were working hard and extremey curtious but I felt they were struggling to keep up.”
“A nice hotel with comfortable rooms. The bathroom drains were a bit whiffy at times but nice fluffy towels and a comfy bed. The food was good but a little pricey.”
“We really enjoyed our stay at the Aston made extra special by the friendly, helpful reception staff. Our room was very adequate, comfy bed plus an excellent power shower. The evening meal consisted of three courses, we chose the soup as our starter which was very tasty, I had salmon with seasonable vedgetables very nice whilst my partner chose risotto which she enjoyed this was followed by a choice of sweets. The hotel is situated close to the motorway making easy access to the main towns.”
“I stop at the Aston occasionally when working in Dumfries. I find the staff to be very polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms are always cleaned to a good standard. The only critisism is that the TV channels are very limited with often only 3 terrestrial channels available. Also WiFi signal can be poor in some rooms which is a problem when trying to work in my room.”
