“The Dumfries Hotel is in a good location. The hotel is good value for money. The rooms are clean & a good size. The staff are very friendly & efficient.”
“nice and quiet, good food, friendly staff.good base for exploring the west coast of Scotland. need to get rid of high back chairs in bar area and put in some low backed chairs and sofas.”
“The hotel is set in lovely grounds, the rooms are quite large and well equipped. There is free Wi-Fi in the rooms that works ok. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good but evening meal was a little expensive for what it was, at over £70 for a three course dinner for two with a bottle of wine.”
“Though not located in the most picturesque of surroundings, the Aston Hotel, Darlington, provided a friendly, conveniently located, extremely good value 'deal', when associated with the 'Travel ZOO' offer of 2 nights B&B, (Double), Dinner + a Bottle of Wine and Entry tickets to the Beamish Museum.. The Food was excellent (both Breakfast & Dinner) and was inviting enough to encourage a return visit for dinner on the 2nd Night. All the Staff were extremely friendly & helpful.. Recommendation to others will be highly likely.”
“I stayed two nights on a "Chatsworth" break in an executive room that was very comfortable and clean. The food was OK and it is the first hotel I have stayed in where I found ALL the staff to be very polite, pleasant and helpful. All in all it was good value and pleasant stay.”
“Great large airy room. The shower was wonderful, very powerful and with a shelf which you could either sit on or use to help you balance whilst washing your feet. It also held all the cosmetics which you needed. Truly king sized bed and very clean. The air conditioning worked but was slightly noisy. Really friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.”
“enjoyed our stay at your hotel. food was excellent staff very helpful and friendly. also really enjoyed our trip to the beamish museum which was part of the deal we booked”
“The Aston Hotel in Dumfries is beautiful and an ideal setting for the wedding I was attending. However I was disappointed that I was charged £15 per room for early check in, when I was clearly part of the wedding party.
Breakfast was disappointing, having to wait close to 10 minutes for a table. The area is clearly not big enough for the amount of guests.
The rooms are spacious and the showers an enjoyable experience.”
“Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. Not many facilities.
Disappointing thing for me was check in time! I had booked 3 rooms ( I think they are expensive rooms compared to many other hotels I have stayed in ) as we were guests at a wedding in Crichton Church and Easterbrook Hall all of which share grounds. I had asked for an early check in but had to pay an extra £15 per room for this which I think is a bit steep . No negotiation!!! £15 per room and room would be guaranteed at 12 o clock.”
“The Hotel is set in beautiful grounds. The old part of the building is beautiful and the interior decorated to a high standard. The staff were friendly and they even made us a packed breakfast with fresh coffee as we were leaving at 6am. We stay here regularly and will continue to use the Aston for our business trips.”
