Bought an X5 last August, new shape, lovely car but the aftersales is just awful. Broke a wing mirror curtesy of small child opening another car door. rang BMW Crewe where I purchased the car, had to wait 3 weeks to book it in, no curtesy cars because of covid, and they wanted it for a whole day just for a mirror. Got phone call at 16.45 to say it was ready, my husband went to collect it and after waiting half an hour the mechanic came out and said the mirror was on but no one knew how to refit the camera " It didn't come with instructions " . They would ring to rebook at our convenience. They didnt , Tried phoning over next few days and no answer . Sent email ( which had been read ) no reply. Contacted Head office complaints, reported it, got a report number this was a monday, she promised to contact me by Friday at the latest. Nothing !. Finally my husband finished work early and went back into the garage and threatened to stop the payment ( they wouldn't release the car till we paid ) unless it was sorted. It was finally done last Saturday morning while he waited. It does not inspire me with confidence that the people servicing my car , and therefore responsible for my safety cannot even fit a wing mirror and it cost me £1142 for the privilege. Lost a sale as well as my husband was looking to change his car to a BMW when he went to pick mine up. He has since bought a Kia stinger

My bmw dealership Barons Bishop Stortford did my end of warranty check but forgot to say i needed a MOt also they found hairline crack on alloy told me i had to pay £40 for run test and then told me it is £75 !!! this should have been covered under warranty !! But no they want me to pay !! But this is typical of Barons !!! Be warned anyone thinking of purchasing a Bmw The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on . Also BMW have a history of faulty Alloys .

I found their Customer Service department polite, but ultimately of no use in resolving my complaint. Typical approach of a large organisation who play lip service to customers.

Put my 2016 x3 in for first service Bmw updated the software now the tailgate can’t be opened on the fob unless the the car is unlocked first now now security as car is now unlocked to load boot plus to open the tailgate requires you to push the unlock button then the tailgate button on the fob instead of just pushing the tailgate button, I can’t believe that Bmw call this an enhancement and can’t roll back the software I will not be buying another Bmw

My experience of a BMW 530 SE has been mixed and at times disappointing. The paint work chips easily on the bonnet and doors the water based paint is just poor quality. When i com0lained to the BMW supplier there was an acce0tance that this is a problem but no willingness whatsoever to make address Then there can be problems with the rear suspension mounting mine sheared off at speed on the motor way and shredded my run flat tyre it was terrifying It took 2 days for a replacement tyre to arrive So my advice to BMW is to improve your quality and build safer vehicles

My X3 is due for its first service so I used the app to get a service price of £372, when I called my local garage they quoted £435. So, I called around all my local BMW dealers and got app prices ranging from £347 to £365, I called each of them and got prices ranging from £384 to £423. I called BMW UK and was told the dealerships can charge whatever they like. I am surprised BMW UK are not actively looking after their customers by ensuring fair and consistent pricing

Attempting to book my car in for a repair at BMW Park Royal under warranty I today suffered the worst example of customer service that I have ever, ever experienced in my life. Rang the relevant number, got a pleasant girl whose first words were that the call was being recorded. She said she would put me through to a service agent. But there wasn't one available so she offered one to call me back. OK, I said, thinking it might take 10 minutes. Two hours later, no call back so I called again. This time got a pleasant guy who again told me the call was being recorded. He bumped me up the queue and eventually, after a further hour and a half, I got a call from the elusive service agent. I explained the problem (inconsistent brake pedal travel) and he immediately said I might have to pay £275 PER HOUR for them to diagnose the problem! Apparently because brake pads are consumables and not covered by the warranty. He clearly had no idea of the difference between a brake pedal and a brake pad and was merely following a script. The script led on to a whole string of irrelevant questions, including "Had I topped up the radiator water?" and "Did I want to receive marketing communications from BMW?" BMW clearly has no idea about customer service once it has sold you a car and probably doesn't care. Greeting you with "This call is being recorded" is not good customer service. Putting idiot agents who know nothing about cars in a call centre is not good customer service. Asking whether you want marketing communications when all you want is a warranty repair is not good customer service. And charging £275 per hour to diagnose a fault that is covered by the warranty is not good customer service. I have had many BMWs in the past but I will not be buying another one ever again.

Appalling service from local BMW Dealer, Marshall's and from BMW UK I wanted to but a BMW i4 but before spending extensive money I wanted to have an extended test drive, even though this is offered on the BMW web site it would appear the Dealers do not wish to offer it - first complaint raised with the dealer management, and they didn't care.! BMW UK then called me as they wanted feedback regarding my dealings with the local dealer, Marshall's and when I explained to them the service I had received, equally they also didn't care, but this was BMW Contact Centre. A complaint has been raised with BMW UK Thankfully when you visit a Mercedes Benz dealer you receive a totally different style of service, Mercedes go out of their way to offer a quality Customer Service - thankfully now a drive a Mercedes... DO NOT BUY A BMW.!!

Before you purchase a vehicle at BMW Sytner Swansea you should consider my experience below. I purchased a one-year-old, 5 series BMW for (50K plus) at BMW Sytner Swansea, in September 2022. NOTE: I was advised by BMW Sytner Swansea that the car was being held back for a day or so because they had a problem with the car assist sensors. In February 2023 I was reversing the car at night when I had a small collision with a wall. The car assist sensors on the rear of the car did not function. There was a small mark/scrape on the rear bumper. I tested the rear sensors the next day and it was clear they were not functioning correctly. They only intermittently alarmed when you actually touched them. I informed BMW Sytner Swansea, and they advised me of a date 3 weeks later (March) to review the issue. In person at Sytner I explained the issue to them in detail and I advised them that the vehicle was under warranty. I also requested a quote from them to repair the mark on the bumper. After an hour waiting for some feedback, I was eventually advised by the Service Department assistant that the parking sensors were working perfectly when I was sold the car and therefore not covered under warranty and if I wanted them to review the issue, I had to pay nearly £300.00 up front for them to remove the bumper. The Service department assistant also advised it would be £7000.00 to repair the bumper however she immediately changed this to £2700.00. I advised the service department assistant that I was not prepared to pay for the removal of the bumper, and I disputed their claim that the sensors were working perfectly. I drove the car away. I took the vehicle to an independent assessor and asked them to review the issue. After a day they advised me that the sensors could never have functioned correctly because the bumper had been painted previously and subsequently the repairer had painted over the sensors deeming them inoperable. Bear in mind no one had informed me previously that the bumper had been painted on the one-year-old car, but I am advised that unless the car has been in an accident they are not obliged to do so. The assessor also advised me the repair works carried out on the bumper were very poor but this was only entirely visible from beneath the vehicle when they were carrying out the investigation into the sensors. I requested that this assessor install new sensors which he did. All working fine. At a cost to me of £1642.80 I also took away the original sensors. I returned to BMW Sytner Swansea and spoke to the Sales Manager. He advised me the sensors worked perfectly when the car was sold to me. I explained the situation to him, but he was adamant that the bumper had never been painted but said he could check this. He went away for some time and returned to advise the bumper had in fact been painted before I received the car. He disputed and disagreed with the independent assessors evaluation but requested a copy of the report /invoice they had provided. He also requested to retain the original sensors and advised he would return these. I’m still waiting for them to date. I also advised him that the repair works on the bumper had been poor which he totally disagreed with saying his repair and body shop team were highly reputable. I received no response from Sytner Swansea after two weeks, so I contacted them again. They responded by saying “They cannot help in this occasion”. I took the vehicle to a repair shop local to Swansea and they carried out the works on the bumper at a cost of £150.00. (Not near £2700.00) They advised me that the previous works on the bumper had been executed extremely poorly with so much filler used that it removed the paint contour of the vehicle on one side. Thankfully he repaired it correctly. After a few days of purchasing the car I queried the tyre threads on the vehicle. I was advised by the sales rep they were perfectly ok. Less than 9 months after date of purchase and only a few hundred miles clocked the tyres need replacing. So nearly 3k spent on a one year old car in less than 9 months. So, there you are: You buy a nearly new car from BMW thinking everything will be fine as it’s a big reputable company. You will get treated well; they will look after you. Your car is under warranty so nothing to worry about. You’re a BMW customer. THINK AGAIN!

I have a BMW 330e series, so many design faults which is later found to be "common" in BMW cars when searching online. 2 days of rain in London caused water to be trapped inside the door, hearing gushing noise every time I drive the car and brake it. Searched online and turns out hundreds of people have come upon the same situation which is such a bad design fault. only solution was to drill a whole from the bottom of the door for the water to come out, but luckily I was once parked uphill and the door kept leaking all the water trapped. Yesterday was the second time just 2 months apart where I was driving normally until I heard a loud squeaking noise as if I was dragging a piece of metal on the ground. First time they towed my car to inspect it and turns out AGAIN it is common in these BMW's which was also said by the BMW services when I called for help. They knew straight away what I was explaining because of the regular calls they get. Apparently a small stone on the ground got between the brakes and the disc causing damage to the whole disc which needed replacement and we had to pay as insurance did not cover it. Yesterday the same thing happened as I was driving back home from Harley Street and I heard the same noise again. I could not believe it was happening again as we changed and fixed the whole problem just under 2 months ago. Had to drive home with this loud noise which made me feel so unsafe, as if the car was gonna pop it's tires any time. People on the street closed their ears from how loud the noise was, honestly was embarrassing for a customer having a BMW with all these faults. BMW services were called again and the same thing happened where the guy picked up and laughed midway as I was explaining and stated that I don't have to worry as this happens regularly for BMW owners. Might have to switch to Audi or Mercedes at this point.

They look nice Have a lot of electronics the engines are terrible. The timing chains are the worst issue. I replaced one on a 2013 . $6000. On my 7 series The time in China is on Another $6000. These cars were under a $100 a mile. It's very sad

I had a puncture in France phoned bmw assistance every they said would be sorted. Sent someone out to plug the tyre but they couldn’t because the side wall position with a nail. Bmw said they would recover vehicle back to Uk with are towing caravan but unfortunately we had a dog and they could not. Reason was they could not get a tyre. Left me stranded for 3 days until I myself and a independent managed to get two tyres. Different make but found out the vehicle wasn’t on run flat tyres as I thought it was. Could not get bmw assistance to recover the vehicle tyre garage in France. It was BMW X5 m40d 7000miles just 12 mths old ruined my holiday no offer of hire. 3 weeks waiting for tyres in Uk my one on individual 22” alloys Be warned don’t break down out side of Uk

It’s my first and last BMW car I’ll ever own. The timing chain had gone after 35000 miles, £5k and a month later the front spring went which luckily didn’t cause a crash. After 5yrs It’s one big money pit. What I’ve learnt - BMW cars are cheaply made, poorly put together and customer service is poor and unreliable. Be safe and save your money, don’t buy bmw.
