“Light years ahead of tinned beans and the recipes in the Bold Bean Co book and website are a revelation. Absolutely adore beanottos. More than risottos. My friends are loving the dishes too and I am becoming quite inventive now I've got the hang of it.
Going to be cooking an Italian fennel sausage and cavelo nero casserole today with a crispy breadcrumb, herby and sausage crumb finish”
“I bought a pack of the three new baked bean jars. They were stupendously good! Not only that, I had fun getting rid of the packaging down the sink! It was like magic!”
“I first heard of Bold Beans while watching Dragon's Den.
Being plant based I've always eaten beans and pulses etc.
TV adverts never sway me to buy a certain product but hearing Amelia talk of the way her beans were sourced, for flavour, thinner skins, their slower cooking ect I thought that there had to be something in this, and seeing how all the dragons reacted was quite something!
It wasn't until Peter Jones said that although she would never get him to give up meat for beans but having said that, these beans were the best he'd ever tasted, well that was me hooked, so thanks Peter!!
There is no other product to touch them. The beans are literally to die for! Especially the butter beans. I bought the book very early on, Waterstones in Truro had to order it in for me, but since then it is on their shelves .... see what I started!
Butterbean Puttenesca was the first recipe I made, and it must have been good because I made it 5 times in a row before calming down and trying other recipes!.
The only thing that you could do to enhance the product would be to lower the price a bit, but having said that I will still buy them. Can't live without Bold Beans anymore. I still have a few cans left but am having to force myself to use them over yours! Once gone, more jars will fill my cupboard so thank you for a brilliant product. The flavour is truly outstanding!”
“Probably like most people "beans" just meant baked beans on toast to me but Bold Beans has introduced me to a whole new world of delicious beans that I knew nothing about. For example, I've always liked butter beans but Bold Beans 'Queen Butter Beans' have a very soft skin, almost unnoticable, and taste delicous - much nicer even than the tinned butter beans I've liked in the past.
For the record, my review is not sponsored.”
“I love the concept of this brand and they have made beans a great thing to eat again! I think they offer a good variety of different, high quality beans and I have used all of them. My only complaint is that they get very compacted in the jar, particularly towards the bottom and so the beans come out a bit mashed - fine if I'm making a dip, but not fine if I'm adding them to a pasta sauce because they just make it gloopy and unpleasant. Sort that out Bold Bean and you'd get a perfect 5 from me!”
Hi Penny! Thanks so much for this feedback.
I am sorry you've struggled to remove the beans from the jar. Can I ask which bean you're using? Our Organic White beans for example are usually the hardest to get out of the jars, and this is because they’re naturally a really starchy bean so their bean stock is super thick!
As each bean variety is different, their bean stocks will all be different, as each has a different level of starchiness. So I appreciate this can be frustrating, but this is normal! I have a few tips for you for future use. If you use a softer utensil such as a spatula, rather than a metal fork etc - I often find the beans become less mushy as you remove them from the jar. I also remove the beans from the jar under a running tap, the water can get into the beans underneath and help loosen them!
I hope this is helpful, Jess
“Gave up cooking dried beans, tried canned but the Bold Beans outstrip all others. Soft , delicious beans and so is the stock. Great in stews, chilli, soups, salads and straight out of the jar. 10/10!”
“These really are THE best beans ever. The recipes are great too, we've made several of them, some more than once, including the butter bean, smoked mackerel & beetroot chopped salad, creamy courgette bean-otto, creamy truffle chicken, leek & white beans and the red bean ragu (which makes a bumper quantity easily portioned up and frozen for quick mid week meals).”
“I love bold beans! I subscribe to the bestsellars range and have the cookbook and use the recipes on the website all of the time, the obsession is real! Nomnomnom!”
“Quite honestly have changed my life! Love cooking with these, or adding to a salad, or simply eating out of the jar. Can't believe how delicious they are. I wouldn't be without them anymore.”
“Love these beans, normally purchase at my local Sainsburys but decided to order online - second to none service and delivery - beantastic all round ! I used to be a bean hater, now I'm a bean lover !”
“I love the beans and peas - best we ever tasted. Became a subscriber and then discovered them on sale much cheaper in supermarket. Just a tad disappointed about that. But! The beans are fabulous and great recipe ideas too - I am a fan!”
