I spoke to three people as the first two people were experiencing issues with their computers. The third person was extremely rude and spoke to me terribly, told me I couldn't take out insurance with my daughters name on it and would not give me any other options, I ended up suggesting the other options I could take to him that the previous person had gave me and he said 'Yeah... you could do that...' I just hung up because he sounded like he did not want to speak to me at all.. nearly one hour of my time wasted. Disgusting way to treat a possible client.

I GOT SOLD A SCAM!!! I’ve been affectionate customer of brightside insurance fo 2 years and when I bought my policy I did tick all the boxes to have everything covered while purchasing my policy, including excess, helmets & leather, pillion passengers, legal expenses, breakdown, I never tried to buy a cheap insurance as I didn’t have a cheap motorbike neither cheap motorbike’s clothing + helmets, in fact I happily paid over £1.084 in a single payment for it. Suddenly on the 12th of September 2020, my bike was stolen, and with it: - my helmet with “mx helmet black 6d” helmet with - Interphone “Tour” Bluetooth fitted in it - my “dainese mistel suit” leathers - my gloves “alpinestars GP pro” All these items add up to almost £1.900 They were stored and locked in the sides metal boxes of my motorbike at the time of theft. When I reported the theft to Aviva they told me excess + leather were covered from the broker, so you brightside, I then called you and was confirmed from one of brightside employees that yes the policy I bought covered the theft of helmets and leather and I was covered up to £1.500 but I needed to call, again, another insurer Direct Group, which annoyed and rudely told me this wasn’t the actual cover they were offering, No Theft was covered?! In the policy you sold me they were all included Mr Gallard, when I called earlier this week on the 5th of October and spoke to Angela from brightside, she also was 100% sure I was covered for the theft too and she proudly called Direct Group to confirm it, but she then also found out I was sold a scam as not even you brightside knew this as it wasn’t mentioned nowhere when I purchased the policy and none of your team is trained or aware of this. So yes I’m totally unhappy I was sold a very expensive scam and I purchased the same cover for 2 years not knowing it.

Absolutely disgusted! I never signed my electronic agreement for another year and after trying to cancel my policy during the 14 day cooling down period they still took money out my account automatically, they also upped my policy from £50 a month to £80 a month!! I finally cancelled my policy with a cancellation charge of £250! I complained and they just dropped it to £175 as though they was making the figures up! I was then told not to pay the £175 by Brightside till they speak to the underwriters but yet I continued receiving malicious E Mails of final warning from Beightside, this led me to no choice but to pay the £175 in the end for something that I still didn’t agreed to... Absolutely disgusting!

Been told that to transfer my car insurance over to a new car that is smaller would cost me a £137 After they owed me nearly 200 quid for changing my car insurance from business to normal insurance. Saying they couldn't pay it back just reduce my fee... So really you want a 137 quid to change from a BMW 5 series to a Fiat 500 ...I dont think so. Once my last 2 payments f a whole 12 quid gets paid. Your company can keep your poxy insurance and I will go elsewhere No.wonder why you have bad reviews

Too many mistakes in processing my insurance, , took on average 20 minutes to get through to someone . They offer cheap insurance because they are so hopeless to deal with. Pay more go with a better company

Poor communication resulting in unexpected, unjustifiable fees. If you insure with this company they won't explain hidden fees/"admin" charges for alterations in policies and pass the buck between them and their underwriters who do not compromise and try to squeeze every last penny the can out of you. Better service from admiral and better quotes from many other companies. "There is no bright side to insuring with brightside insurance". Cancelled policy and got a better deal elsewhere.

Cancelled insurance after 12 days because I missed e mail asking for copies of documents. Took money out of a credit card account without permission. I will be seeking advise from the fraud team at my bank. They should not be holding card details without permission. I didn't want to cancel they did. I work 12 hours at hospital. A courtesy call may have helped. Cost me £125 for 12 days insurance

DO NOT USE! Insuranced my van through Brightside last year, they sent me an email requesting more information; proof of address etc. I did not see the email as I was on holiday at the time, they then cancelled my policy just 5 days after the email was sent! I then got back from holiday and had no van insurance, unable to use my van for work, and everytime I called them up their computers "were down", so could not even sort my insurance out! Cost me a lot of time and money, god only knows what they would have done if I did have to make a claim. Also very rude over the phone. Avoid.

This is a really difficult company to deal with. No published e-mail address for customer contact or online desk. Phone contact is preceded with a long preamble before ever getting to make service choice and finally a total disrespect for customer loyalty. Having had a n claims year with them the renewal request was for a 44% increase in annual premium. Wrote to ask for justification for increase, this was ignored with no response. Phone contact yielded a reduction in premium to a 23% increase over previous year. Search on Comparison website yielded a quote of which represented a 3.9% increase over previous year. So that's how they treat existing customers. Hence AVOID at all costs.

Avoid! Don't waste your time and money. Very bad experience with them and would not recommend to anyone. My car been written off 4 months ago but they still keep charging me for nothing and they not allowing you to cancel the policy. They saying if you want to you have to pay full amount! Customer service is rubbish. They just dropped the phone and not worried to call back. Never ever again! Keep away from this company

Changed from a car i sold to new car..charged me extra for doing this which i didnt mind, then started adding more money in to my monthly direct debit..said it was my fault for changing from one car to another and doing it online on THEIR website.I cancelled the policy, now they expect me to pay over £300 for doing this..BIGGEST rip off insurance broker ive ever been with in 25 years..You would be mad to ignore the negative comments about this company.👎👎👎

Please Please check who the underwriters of your insurance is with when dealing with Brightside, look up the reviews for Tansar and Action365 for all the awful experiences people have and effectively paying premiums for tansar never to pay claims out, without taking to the ombudsman. Brightside should not still be offering this company as an underwriter with all the complaints

Bad experience with this company. Just phoned today to change my address and end up paying £62 admin fee not the premium my insurance premium didn't go up. I asked them I can do it by myself as I have the brightside account but guy said you still have to pay £61. What is the point having account if you can not amend anything by yourself? It took him 2 minutes to do it which I could have done it by myself. Just a rip off. I had an insurance tesco and i able to do any changes by myself without any charge. I wont be buying insurance from brightside anymore just a rip off. Told the guy I will be leaving bad review but he is not bothered. He was rude and was only interested in money. Not sure how they will deal when I have a claim? AVOID AT ANY COST.

Very poor. Just not treated very well (as a new customer), totally inflexible, you have to wait a long time before anyone answers your call. I would urge any one to look beyond how cheap they are because my experience is that it is a false economy.
