“Not been good from the start.
I moved into a house and partly decided to go with BT because they were offering ยฃ100 as an incentive. This was in March 2023, to date I have never seen that ยฃ100, I rang them, I was just sent round in circles in what to do to access it, but couldnโt do it, when I had my broadband fitted at my new house, the engineer didnโt take away old system, I thought it was something straight forward to do and as Iโm doing house up thought just another on my list to do. Contacted BT to ask about it, told engineer would have done it for free, but as itโs a while ago, I would need to pay ยฃ130 to get it removed and tidied up. I was on a chat line for over an hour tonight, it was so confusing again sent round in circles, to be told although they believe me, the ยฃ100 shows as been collected, and the removal of old works I have to now contact the technical department”

“I was going to join bt when plusnet stopped providing broadband. I cancelled within 7days, but equipment arrived. I cancelled again, but engineer arrived. We sent him away immediately, but bills arrived. Phone calls to customer services took each about 45min. Very friendly staff, assuring me everything would get sorted (as in no more bills and envelope to send equipment back). Finally got envelope and sent everything back and then got hounded that 1 piece of equipment was not returned , though both had gone in 2 envelope. Took 6 months and at least 5hours on the phone to finally be free.

I have been having ongoing issues with BT in general.
In particular with my broadband and digital voice.
I moved into a new build with fibre to the property 6 years ago and I have always said it wasn't right. I've been fobbed off countless times and their answer was to upgrade and charge me more with little or no improvement.
I have been made to feel like a liar and an inconvenience at every point of contact.
I have been sold packages I do not need and never received the promised service or speeds.
My digital voice is awful and the phones keep failing.
The other day I finally found out that the fibre was installed incorrectly, so for six years I have never gotten the speeds promised and yet charged over the odds!
Customer service and loyalty mean nothing to BT . They take you for granted.
I have been with BT for 30 years...
Oh and my issues are still not resolved and I'm tied in for another 18 months.
BT have let me down greatly ๐ and I'll be leaving as soon as I can!”

Iโve spent about 4 hours in total on the phone since I gave BT 30 days notice to close my broadband account. Within 4 days they cut me off and with that my phone line which I relied on. As it was there mistake I was sent a temporary EE broadband device to see me through to my switch over date. (No landline, they canโt reconnect you!) This ยฃ55 cost was supposed to be paid into the BT account. Iโve since been told on another call the EE account was credited with ยฃ55. This week I received a bill from BT who are still charging me for Broadband and yesterday an EE red bill for the same month of charges. (The temporary device was sent back within 14 days). These companyโs are supposed to work together, but none of the operatives BT or EE look to be able to effect the billing account and can resolve the issue, what ever they tell me. The last time I called BT the operative told me to not pay the bill as I was in credit, although she could not tell me by how much or send me a revised bill. The last time I was told that I received a late payment fine on the next bill so Iโll wait and see. I have asked to speak to someone further up the chain with no luck.”

Avoid BT Internet at all costs! I've had the misfortune of experiencing:
Frequent Disconnections: Constant drops in connectivity, requiring router restarts.
Slow Speeds: Never exceeded 500 Mbps, despite paying for 900 Mbps package.
Unreliable Speed Testing: BT claims only their app shows accurate speeds, dismissing third-party speed tests.
Harsh Payment Policies: Immediate disconnections for missed payments, followed by 24-hour reactivation delays.
Lack of Transparency: No service status updates or reminders for payment due dates.
Coming from Virgin Media, I'm shocked by BT's subpar service.
Virgin Media:
- Sent reminders for overdue bills
- Provided transparent speed information
- Notified me of planned disconnections
- Didn't disconnect services immediately
BT's logic is baffling:
- Charging late fees, then disconnecting services anyway
- Claiming their platform is designed to evade third-party speed tests.
Now, my services are disconnected, and the irony is that I'm unable to open the BT app to pay my bill! The app is not working, what a shame.
How am I supposed to pay my bill when your app doesn't function? This is ridiculous.
Warning: Don't make the same mistake. Consider alternative providers or use your mobile hotspot for internet at home.
