“I thought Pewter was a lot heavier than what I received. The item I got feels like plastic. It took longer than it said on the website and for the price I was very disappointed. I got it engraved and you can barely see the engraving. I am not happy at all.”

Hi Susan, Thanks for your feedback. Modern pewter is a lot lighter than people realise. This may be because traditional pewter is made of lead(and very unsafe!). We do offer a range of heavyweighted items if you're needing something sturdier in the future. All of the engraving is completed by diamond tip. It is quite a delicate process but needs to be for the metal. I hope this hasn't taken away from what should make a great gift. “Very disappointed my tankard leaked like a sieve. The finish inside was scruffy by which I mean the weld at the base of the tankard was badly finished with marks around the join which looked like the inside of the tankard was dirty. I know they are hand crafted but this should mean a high standard of finish.”

“HI im quite a positive person but unfortunately I did not perceive the product as seen the engraving on the base had been done poorly - engraved twice with a mill or so between the two prints, there were aesthetic faults scuff marks at the point of opening. The material thickness makes the product quite week. I hope these comments are taken with the aim to improve on what I have received. Regards Chris”

“Tankard was very poor quality - not blown glass but with two very obvious seams like east European market style! Not in blue presentation box but in tatty grey cardboard. Delivery was pretty slow but refund came reasonably quickly. This was a sraight sided glass tankard - perhaps others are better?”

“I received the tankard in very good time, but, I had paid extra for an engraving as its for a Christmas gift for my husband, however when it arrived I found that there was no engraving at all, just a plain tankard. I did ring up and the lady at the other end was very helpful and sent me a link to download a pre paid returns form. As helpful as this was it should never have happened and obviously somebody did not read my order correctly. I am just hoping that I now receive the engraved tankard in time for Christmas, otherwise I will not be at all happy and would not be able to recommend to my friends.”

“OK, the way the business runs is really good, no problems there. I was really disappointed with the font on the tankard though. The Swiss font I chose looks nothing like the example on screen and is frankly gross. I'm very choked about it. I wanted something clean and modern, just like the screen example in fact.”

“The handle is unexpectedly hollow, the finish is scratched and was dirty. The instructions on engraving were followed and are satisfactory. Overall I am disappointed in the quality to be honest.”

I'm sorry to hear you were not completely pleased with your tankard. The handles are made with a mould so will be solid, however pewter is a lightweight material which may cause you to think this is hollow. We finish all pewter tankards off with black polish and a metal brush. The polish should wash off, however the brushed effect is a feature of the pewter. I do hope that this was still a well received gift. ~Rach
