Wasn't the quality I was hoping for in terms of the engraving. It just looked cheap and the writing wasn't very big. This gift didnt really have the impact I was expecting.

I think the engraving is beautiful work, as to the tankards, I ordered from Europe knowing the class of pewter to be way above America's, However, all I got was a tin cup. Truly disappointed and to top it off, the sigals are barely holding on with the glue that was used. These were supposed to be grooms gifts, but it actually seems i just threw over $600 out the window. Delivery from when order was placed and arrival was incredibly fast on the plus side!

1. I chose to have child's name engraved; I do not think I was asked to specify print size although I was given choice of type of text. I assumed the engraver would use a size appropriate for the size of the tankard. In fact the texts far too small. 2. Finishes on joints and handle attachments were visually poor.

Ordered in plenty of time, but delivered with spelling errors in engraving. Resolved quickly but sadly not in time for my daughter’s 21st Birthday which was very upsetting and disappointing.

The lid is not properly stuck down and not properly fitting at one of the corners. Found a hair inside the box!

Trying to get the details of engraving on the website was somewhat tricky, so just gave up and have taken the tankard to a local store. Incidentally the local store sold the same tankard for 25% less. At least I know where to go next time.

Delivery Order confirmation from this company showed 48hrs with Royal Mail. Six working days later, still not delivered.... response from this company was that the item was posted second class and can take up to 11 days with Royal Mail... buyatankard are what I would describe as “Charmingly Analogue” in today’s online high street...

Hi, Sorry to hear you were dissapointed with the engraving. You chose a tankard with a 36mm engraving area and added text and a logo so they had to be small in order to fit them in for you.

The goblet arrived on time but the text engraved is too small and the Latin quote has been broken up into two lines. I would expect a call to explain that the text would be better placed on a larger goblet so it could be placed correctly. I have emailed twice to request a refund/ advice to solution but no reply as of today, which is disappointing!

1. Engraving instructions were not carried out as requested. 2. The engraving is extremely shallow. 3. The finish on the handle is poor. 4. I have had no response from Buyatankard regarding issues 1 & 2 which were emailed to them.

Overall, the product that I received was good. However that was offset a little by the poor delivery and service. Ordering off the website was ok also, it was just the fact that it took just under a month to receive the product, when I was expecting at max 10 days.

Hi Grant, Apologies for the time it took to deliver your tankard. This particular tankard was made to order but shouldn't have taken longer than 10 working days. Unfortunately a delay in production meant this left 3 days late. I do apologise for the delay. I do hope you received our emails advising of the short delay. ~Rachel

I wanted a tankard for my son's 18th so ordered one with an 18 handle. The tankard is fine. The handle is tinny and looks like it has been soldered onto the tankard separately. Disappointed. Arrived promptly. Engraving as requested and of good quality.

Hi Alison, Its great to hear your order has arrived safely and in time for your Son's 18th birthday, thanks for your kind comments on the engraving message we added too. We thought it looked really lovely. Its a real shame though to hear your thoughts on the tankard, pewter although is classed as a precious metal is actually an alloy made from at least 85% tin which is why it is so light. Each of our tankards are individually hand made and so each one is unique, you are quite right, the handle has been soldered on to the wall of the tankard by hand, we love the handmade quality this gives but if you think there's a fault with the soldering please do let us know and we'll do all we can to help. - Sam

The first time the mug was received the engraving had been missed off. I left both an e-mail and a telephone message on the Saturday it was delivered but I had to phone again on the Monday afternoon as no-one had contacted me. I don't think I shall use your services again.

Hi Michael, I am so sorry to hear the problem with the order, I am really sorry that the engraving was missed from your order, I think in our hurry to get all our orders out as quickly as possible so they arrive in time for Christmas that we packaged up the order with out your engraving message to your Grandson. We are not normally open at the weekends but during December we do come in to help out, I see Jayde replied to your initial email just a few minutes after we received it, I am so sorry to hear you did not get this. I hope you didn't think we were ignoring you! I'm really pleased you got back in touch on the Monday though and we were able to help. ~ Sam

Hi María, what a shame your order is not with you yet. I understand from experience shipping to Spain is quite slow. Your parcel was shipped before the last recommended postage date (6 days before) so I'd expect the parcel to arrive between now and 24th December. Do let me know when it arrives. ~Rach

The tankards were mass produced - which, okay you'd expect for the price - but one of the two I bought was quite flawed with some distortions on it's decoration. The first one I ordered, I contacted their customer support and asked if I could change the typeface on the etching. The lady I spoke to was very helpful and said she would take care of this, but when it came it had not been change. The continuity of the custom etching wasn't great. The first one looked really good, the second was so faint you could hardly read it. Again, for the money, I wouldn't regard this as being a complete rip, but I definitely wouldn't shop here again. Hi Stuart, Its such a shame to hear you are not pleased with your order! Our pewter tankards are not mass produced at all, they are in fact all made by hand in Sheffield, this may actually be why the celtic design was a little distorted as they are hand stamped. We really like the effect that hand crafting brings as we feel that it makes each one unique. I'm so sorry for the error with your engraving, I can see a note was added to your order about the font change but it does look as though our engraver missed this. Hi Liz, I'm sorry to hear your tankard arrived late. We had dispatched this on time using the free delivery method selected which is Royal Mail 48 untracked. There are faster postage options with tracking on offer at the time of ordering, I'm sorry to hear this did not make it to you when required. ~Rach

The product was very good as usual. I am very disappointed with the engraving. At first glance it looked like another language (not English) and it is so small I can hardly see it. You have to turn it so the light hits it in order to make out what it says. I learned I need to be much more specific with the instructions--I should have said 3/8" to 1/2" letters. If I ever order again I will keep that in mind. Barbara Sestito

Hi Barbara, I'm sorry to hear you weren't completely satisfied with the engraving. You're welcome of course to put any specific requirements rather than leave to engraver's discretion. On this occasion the lines of text are quite long which reduced the size of the text. We didn't want to shorten the lines from what you had entered, this would have enlarged the text. The packaging was nice but the mug was not as viewed on your website. It was lighter in colour and mass. It looks small and feels cheap as I was expecting a thick walked robust darker rich pewter feel - I did not have this first impression at all. The crest was engraved as ordered but due to the fact that I was expecting a larger/ taller mug the text in the crest will be difficult for my father of 55 to read. I don't feel returning this item for another will solve this problem as I feel this company cuts too much quality for the prices listed. I expected more from Scotland as I thought these tankards are common place in your old rich in history country.

Hi Kevin, I'm sorry to hear you weren't happy with your tankard. Pewter is a lot lighter than people would think. This is due to new pewter being made primarily from tin rather than traditionally from lead (this is now illegal). the old lead tankard were the heavy based ones and modern pewter is a finer metal. We do sell a wide range of heavier tankards where we add extra pewter to the handles and rims to get the heavy weight. When full even the regular tankards have a fair weight.
