“Used Buyee as a proxy service to bid some collectible cards on Yahoo! Japan Auctions. They have a nice sniping bid function which is okay and they will notify you through email when someone outbids you’re sniper bid. They also have an easy Translate option that really aids your shopping experience, though the search function is still in Japanese.
Promotions wise, there are current discounts on Mercari but have not tried using that site yet.
Overall, satisfied with Buyee’s service, though the fees can be quite expensive! Would recommend as have used their services before and it was always rather smooth (besides the rather high fees)!”

As for customer promotions, in my opinion, they should only be done on sites where the buyer / customer often makes purchases and not on all online stores of which Buyee is a partner.

“I have had some transactions with buyee to buy stuff from mercari. Most of it went smoothly.
Pros
- Full English support. You don't have to use Google translate to communicate with the seller and risk miscommunication. Customer Service is rather responsive, though I think recently it took them longer to reply. A few years back, they'd reply within the day or early the next day.
- You get updated with the status of your order (bought/arrived at warehouse/etc).
- The flow is clear and detailed.
Cons
- Not recommended if the item you're interested in is highly sought after. There is a delay between when you confirm the order and them buying it, so there's a chance that it'd get sold out before they could secure it for you.
- Also not for items sold in bulk and if the request is complicated - "I only want Item A from Event A but not Event B, but need Item C from Event A and Event B" - it's hard to tell what you really want unless the listing clearly distinguished them by numbers/labels. I explained it to one CSR but another CSR would take over and ask again, the cycle seemed endless. I ended up getting extras because I just wanted to buy it before someone else did.
- The service fee is the same for all item prices. Even when you're buying a 300 yen item, you pay more for the standard fee which is at least 500 yen. I wish they could lower it for smaller items.”

They web interface is easy to use, simple and clear.
I particularly like their protection packaging service because they really pack your item safely inside the shipping box. Although the fees might not be everyone’s flavor, I think it worth it.”
“I've used Buyee a of couple times, mostly for Yahoo Auctions. The system works quickly in terms of bid-placing and also automatically sends you an email every time you are outbid -- I am immensely glad for this function. My only gripe thus far is that the shipping & handling fees are a little high compared to regular mail forwarding sites. I do understand that part of the cost is also the "service" involved in getting the whole process done though. Pure shipping costs also seem mildly hiked up -- they offer a direct to ship option now that is quite honestly incredibly exorbitant (you can however also opt to calculate shipping proper when the products reach their warehouse instead).
Despite that, I'd still use them again. I already know they are reliable, so the higher costs just seem like something additional to factor in my personal budgeting.
I haven't had to deal with their customer service yet, so I don't have anything to say about that. I hope things are fine in that regard.”
