Read some absolutely awful reviews about buyee so I was nervous about buying from there but I was pleasantly surprised. Very quick to sign up. Submitted a request for an item on mercari and they had bought it 8 hours later. Had a variety of shipping options with many price points - chose registered air mail, and they had shipped it and sent me the tracking number the very next day. All together it took just under two weeks from placing my order and receiving it.
OVERALL:
I have not given five stars because of some reasons. True to what other reviews say there are a lot of add on fees, such as handling, inspection, insurance etc, that you only see clearly once you've already bought something.
I only bought one item, but package consolidation fees are quite pricy and seems like a nightmare from looking at reviews.
They had a 2000 JPY discount for mercari so the final price I payed was not exorbitant. The site layout is also outdated and needs a revamp imo. My item also arrived in a paper envelope with the item wrapped in one layer of bubble wrap. I was not impressed with this imo and they should definitely use bubble envelopes on top of wrapping the item for extra protection.
TLDR:
If you are buying one small item then I would recommend buyee, especially if they have some campaign on to save money.
Otherwise, if you are buying multiple items, or larger items, and want to consolidate them into one package, I would look elsewhere at perhaps zenmarket, dejapan, or the likes.”
“It was inconvenient to use Rakuten through Buyee. Orders are often canceled because of the slow update of out of stock. However, it was the most convenient to use Mercari.”

“This is my first time using Buyee and it is actually good because you can find good items like Photocards, CD's, DVD's and other Kpop merch with good price of some. But I have some concerns, (1) I can't select multiple items in the cart for checkout and I have to do it individually. (2) I can't ask the seller if the item is still available so, cancellation happens because some items are still there even if they are already sold. (3) Fee in consolidation is kind of expensive. I hope that they will do something about my concerns. I will still use Buyee on my next purchase but I'll be more careful in choosing and consolidating the items. “I have bought the product (toy figure) from 'buyee.jp'. Comparing to other sites, buying from buyee is more convenient and it is one of not many sites that link with Mercari. Buying products via Mercari the seller usually absorb the shipping fee so it will be cheaper here. Also, buyee usually have many promotions on there website so comparing to other key sites, buying from buyee will be cheaper.”
“Buyee gave me access to buy directly from Japan sites which I don't have access before. The platform is very user-friendly especially to new user like me. I was able to buy kpop merchandise that I am looking for from Mercari.
But there are a few things I don't like much which are as follow:
-the fixed 500yen free regardless of the value of item to purchase
-unable to select multiple items in the cart for checkout (I had to checkout each item one at a time)
-unable to chat directly with the seller in case of questions or request for more picture of the items
Overall, I might still use buyee service in the future but have to think a lot much more because of the abovementioned drawbacks.”
