“I wanted four 5x5x34.5" vase turned column legs in maple to support a very heavy slab of granite that will make a kitchen table. I did the online chat and the guy told me it was possible but would be a custom order. He gave me a price, which I agreed to, and sent me an invoice. I paid the invoice and a few weeks later the legs showed up on my doorstep, nicely packaged and well protected. It was very simple, there were no surprise fees, the legs were very good quality and they were even already sanded. Maple was fine and took paint well. I was able to track the delivery through UPS Ground, but they basically showed up when they were supposed to. Kudos to Carolina Lag Co. I'll buy from them again.”

“Where to start...I ordered these after looking at several different websites, and liked the styles and prices they offered. I opened the box and was immediately noticed the weight and what seemed like quality materials. They were wrapped incredibly well, which made the quality seem even better. That's where the excitement ended. I pulled the legs out, and right away noticed the sloppy welds around the seams, and the powder coat right over top. They weren't grinded down, and in my opinion totally ruined my opinion of them. There were also areas that weren't powder coated. Granted these were areas that wouldn't be seen unless you looked underneath, but it still seemed like an oversight. The only reason I kept them was because the project was my own for a desk in my house. I would never purchase these and expect a customer to be ok with the product. I'm torn because other websites charge $200 per leg, and some cheaper. But at the price point I paid I just felt like the finish quality could be better. Please see the pics and make your own judgments.”
“This is a great bed frame. I was in a pinch, moving into a new apartment. When I found out that my old bed wasn't going to fit up the stairs, I decided to go and shop for a new bed frame and was interested in this one because of its price. I saw that it wasn't finished. Aunt, that was perfectly fine for me, I ended up staining it and applying a polyurethane coat to it and it's perfect. You definitely pay for what you get, but as long as you're okay with that at the end of the day, it's a solid bed and very sturdy.”

“Purchased the 'Upton Platform Bed' (4/2/24) and it's a fantstic bed frame! I do my own woodworking but just don't have the time to make a bed frame right now, so when I came across this one I had to pull the trigger. This thing has exceptional quality for the price, and is built very solid. The slats they use are baltic birch which is a very high grade of plywood, I can see why this thing is rated for 2500 lbs.
Only downside is I wasnt aware of the lead times, totally understand this stuff takes time to make and that's no issue at all. I was quoted it would be done in 3 weeks but ended up taking 6. Again this stuff takes time to make, there's a lot of work that's gotta go into one of these bed frames. But the lead time is something to be aware of.
One other thing is I wish I requested a scrap piece of the ash they used to make the frame, as it comes without a finish applied. That way I could sample different types of finish I may use without having to try it on the bed frame first.
Overall seems like a great company, and wish they would make a nightstand and dresser to complete the set.”
