“These crab cakes have a few pieces of lump crab meat on top and the rest is just filler with little to no taste. They are no better than the ones I can buy locally.”
“I purchased the seafood gumbo package containing 2 32 ounce packets of 'seafood gumbo'. I am not sure what warranted the title seafood since in the first pack I heated up there were a few really miniscule shrimp, certainly not enough to qualify for the title 'seafood'. They were tiny and tasteless and while the Andouille sausage bits were ok there weren't a lot of them either. Since the order cost me approximately $80 with shipping and handling, one packet set me back $40 and would provide enough for approximately 2 meals, certainly not the 4-5 as claimed in the product description. The sauce was ok, a little bland for a gumbo, the only real positive was the shipping, a sturdy container with dry ice that kept the packets frozen solid. I am disappointed, expecting something maybe restaurant quality for the price but not even close.”
“I was very surprised that I didn't like the crab cakes. Someone else recommended them, but I found them have very little lump crab and a lot of the pulled or stringy bits of crab which was very fishy tasting. I also think Chesapeake should ideally have either free shipping over a certain amount or a "membership" program like Wild Fork where for a reasonable annual fee members get free shipping on orders of a reasonable size. The shipping costs is a huge deterrent to ordering for me, especially for new items I'm not sure if I'll like.”
“Hi - I am hoping that this was wonderful for whomever ordered it. I tried to tell customer service from the moment that I received the confirmation email that this was NOT MY ORDER so that someone else didn't run into issues with their Thanksgiving dinner, but nobody replied to me or changed the email address on the order and I continued to receive regular updates about someone else's meal. Hope the crabcakes were a 10, but the customer service wasn't helpful.”
“Last year I purchased 2 Trays of bay creamed corn. the plastic trays were shattered with razor sharp plastic splinters in the corn. I had to throw it out. About $60.00. I could not risk someone swallowing sharp pieces of plastic. This Thanksgiving I bought 2 Trays of Stuffing. Same problem. Plastic Trays were shattered with sharp pieces of plastic in the food. I just an order for Christmas, mostly desert. Trying Not to buy anything that arrives in plastic trays. VERY DANGEROUS.”
