“What an absolute scam. You will be led to believe you have won a competition with free hair and make up done and that you will get a free picture at the end. You do get your hair and make up done and pictures took but the free picture can only be the first one thats taken and its not edited at all. They don't even show it you when you view the photos at the end because it's worse than anything you could of taken yourself on a phone. They then try and push you into buying pictures for 99 pounds each after telling you that they start at 40 pound each. That's only in a package of 10 photos or something. It's a well organised scam where they use clever wording. They also tell you the 25 pound deposite is refundable. You will have to battle with them to get this back because they want you to use it towards photos which aren't free to make them sound a bit cheaper. Also they ask you to review the company on an iPad before you go in to view the photos when you still believe you getting a professional shot for free. That's why there's so many short reviews on this company. They are written before people endure pushy hard sell to buy photos on finance when you've viewed them. Read other reviews that have been done after they've been in office to view photos. they say the same as mine.”

Morning, It would be really helpful if you would leave you name when making such comments about our business. We would have much rather have spoken about these issues that you have in person and tried to rectify where we can. In regards to us being a 'scam' this is certainly not true. The competition entered is for a free makeover and photo shoot, if you were to go on our website this alone would be over £129.00. You received this on the day. Everyone is asked to pay a refundable deposit and this is given back - unless the client chooses to put towards images, again your choice. We of course would love our clients to purchase some extra prints, we are a working studio. However no one is forced to purchase, we show you the images, go through the costs, any offers available and YOU make the decision. The review is of the day so far, sometimes this is after makeup, after photography, it can be at different times. We have over 1000 positive, genuine reviews, any issues that are raised to us we deal with on the day. We want everyone to leave happy . We feel very passionate about this. “Best advice I can give people, stay well clear of this company. They lure you under false pretences i.e through competition wins which they advertise as ‘free’ and when you get there you are pressured into buying one of their packages for an extortionate amount of money!”

Thank you for the review. I think its fair to say no one can force you into buying anything, we do through a viewing session where you choose the package - if any you want. Then we go through a credit check, a finance questionnaire and then you sign for the goods. This takes about 30 - 40 minutes . Not a quick process. We value out customers opinion and take on board any constructive criticism. Thank you Chique

“Absolutely wonderful experience, especially as a trans woman, feeling so welcome in the studio and supported. I visited the Hull studio, which can be a little tricky to find if you're not familiar with the area or if you don't drive, but you can find your way there fairly easily. The staff at the studio were super professional and friendly, the studio itself felt very glamorous. I won the competition to have the experience and get the free photo at the end. I can understand why people might be upset at discovering the overall prices if you do want more photos as the first photo taken is the one you get for free when the rest of the photos are of beautiful quality and edited so that you get the most out of your money if you do want to spend the money to get them. A week after my shoot, I still feel proud and confident and empowered as a woman as a result of going in for the shoot and am happy to be paying for the photos when I thought I'd only get the free one. My only concern for the future, because I will hopefully be returning when I can afford to have more taken, I do feel like the first photo that is taken, isn't as glamorous as some of the others, maybe allowing you to pick one from the whole shoot rather than just receiving the first taken photo would be a better end to the experience if, like me, you cannot really afford to take home a big collection of beautiful professional photos. But I do understand the business relies on purchases in order to keep doing these really fun competitions. (TL:DR - Very fun shoot with very professional photographers, beautiful hair and makeup care/attention, the photos are really good quality and beautifully edited, the studio was great, the staff were great. Had a really lovely time.) (Sorry for the super long review)”

We are very passionate about our business and can assure you its not a 'con' The competition is for the makeover and the studio experience. Purchasing images is an option but not an obligation. “Terrible.... 1.) the photos taken were shoddy, they'd been put through a 10 minutes editing programme, and this wasn't the best. 2.) I was told to take a couple of outfit changes, (I did a boudoir shoot) I had to walk past people, families included to get to and from the changing rooms, I felt so embarrassed 3.) You have a choice, either pay on the spot for the photos, or they will be deleted 4.) the prices were extortionate for the quality of the product 5.) the make up artist and hair stylist were college leavers, with little to none experience. 6.) when the photos are ready to be viewed a member of staff takes you into the viewing room and you look at the photos on a computer screen, I got asked if there were 10 photos that I liked and there wasn't (10 photos was £400 give or take a few quid)... Because I told them that there wasn't 10 photos that I really liked, we left the viewing room and the lady shouted out to the 2 girls at the reception desk "No she didn't like any of them, she just wants the free one." which was the free image that was sold to me, as part of the package... After they realised I wasn't paying for photos that I didn't like, I got funny looks and their attitude changed. AVOID!”

Morning. It is really difficult to respond to any review when we do not know the date / time / studio / client. We really need you name and more information to be able to resolve any issues. In regards to what I can answer - we do not believe at all that our images were 'shoddy' - all our photographers are professionals and would not produce bad images. We spend a great deal of time editing images. The way we work is we edit as we go. This as a client you wouldn't see - its behind the scenes. As soon as we begin to take images we begin the editing process. Through all your outfit changes we are editing. When you have completed your shoot, getting changed, having refreshments, completing reviews / referrals and waiting your images we are editing throughout. Our team of re-touchers work very efficiently and complete to a high standard. We have many hair & makeup artists who work within our business. Some are newer to the industry, some have many years experienced. They have worked for MAC / Benefit / Laura Mercia / fashion shoots. We only employ talented individuals and they all work very hard to make your experience a good one. Again without knowing where or when you attended or when we can not comment on the individuals. Within the viewing, we of course show you ALL images, this is normally up to 100 images. We will advise of the costs and then its the clients choice if to purchase, no one is obligated to do so, in this case i presume you took the free image. This means the whole experience for you was free of charge. All our staff are helpful, friendly and full of eagerness to please. We all work very hard to make sure the atmosphere is a happy one and i wouldn't think for one minute attitudes change when purchases aren't made. We take these reviews very seriously - we will look into all points made but it would be so much easier to do so if we knew then appointment studio / time and your name so we can check any quality issues. Morning, I now have the paperwork from your visit to us. The consultation form lets me know the makeup artist is a very talented young lady. She has been with us over a year and never had any complaints. The review you left us on the day contradicts the review you have now left over 2 months later. To quote how you felt on the day ''Had a lovely day , the girls were great - great experience - thanks all '' Although you did mention more editing needed but as we have explained we do spend a lot of time on this. Now I have your timings of the day i can confirm this. We are interested to see why your view from the day has changed so much to now 2 months later leaving an online review.
