The flowers were a lovely touch. A welcoming service as always. Thanks Huddersfield + Steve Bagnall, well done.

I purchased a swift sport in dec 2014 from Huddersfield , just over twelve months old. The bodywork had been valeted , however once i got the vehicle home, i noticed that under the wheelarches and the lower cills were still full of crud. The twin chrome exhausts (a feature on this vehicle) were heavily engrained with road muck. I then decided to check the oil level and the level was well above the higher limit on the dipstick. Another Suzuki dealership checked this out and had to drain half a litre of oil free of charge- The handbook states dont overfill the oil !.

Dear Mr Heaton, We're deeply sorry you feel you have had a poor experience here at Colin Appleyard, and as with all complaints, we do take them seriously and investigate further into the matter to ensure these problems do not arise in future. We have looked into your complaint and spoken to our Group Aftersales Manager along with the Sales and Service Managers of our Shipley site (who we believe you dealt with on several occasions). We have been given their account of the situation you faced with the Grand Vitara and believe that you were advised prior to your purchase that this vehicle may not be suited to your requirements due to the short, low speed journeys you carry out. The issue you refer to (clogging up of the DPF filter – please refer to footnotes below*) has arisen due to these short journeys and not as a result of a fault with this individual vehicle. Despite this, we did spend a number of hours working on the vehicle and over £1,000 in parts to ensure all other possible faults could be ruled out whilst providing you with a replacement vehicle to use. When you were still unhappy, we proceeded to source an alternative vehicle of your choice from another dealer as we did not have one in stock at that time. With regards to your comment relating to missing items, this is obviously a very serious allegation and one we do not take lightly. We have been assured that all items present in the Grand Vitara were given back to you. The car has since been valeted and checked with no further items being located. We understand that you feel you have had a bad experience however we do believe we have provided a suitable resolution ensuring you were kept in a vehicle and on the road at all times. Should you feel you need to take the matter further you can of course contact us directly to make an official complaint. Alternatively you can contact the West Yorkshire Trading Standards Motor Trade Partnership, of which we are approved members. Kind Regards, Colin Appleyard Ltd * The following is a quote from Parkers, on their review of the Grand Vitara – which is publically available to view on their website: “The 1.9-litre diesel engine, which is sourced from Renault, is prone to suffering faults with its diesel particulate filter (DPF) - which clogs up when the car is only driven at low speeds and on short trips. These problems aren't unique to this model and engine, however, and owners should only have to take the car out on a few fast drives in order to keep the DPF unblocked.” The Grand Vitara manual, which you will have received when you purchased the car also states that if the DPF warning light appears, to drive the vehicle at 47mph+ for 30mins to clear it.

i bought a swift 4x4 unseen and was told it had LED lights when I picked it up it did not have them when I questioned this they tried to talk their way out of it saying they never said it had LED lights which is a lie they even gave me a brochure for the car I was getting showing it with LED lights

I was looking at a car in Motors UK and saw the Subaru at the dealer in Huddersfield. I contacted the dealer and rather than me having to travel from Lincoln to their showroom, they brought the car to me, I had a test drive, was treated with courtesy and respect (unlike Quicks in Hull). I bought the car and found the experience entirely pleasant.

We have dealt with Appleyards for over twenty years (bikes and cars) and have always had exemplary service from them. Our latest purchase had a problem with the seating but this has been swiftly (no pun intended) and more than satisfactorily corrected. Thanks once again to Dave Scott and the team for making car purchase a pleasure instead of the nightmare that it can be. I would and have over the years recommended Appleyards to many people and I hope they continue to be the best there is.

Been looking for a Vitara at the right price with low milage for some time and spotted the one I purchased over in Keighley, so one weekend we headed across from the Lake District to take a look, wasn't disappointed and clinched the deal that day. Had a couple of problems once I picked the motor up the following week SRS warning light kept coming on and the nearside wing mirror needed replacing but to be fair both issues were sorted by Tony and the team (they even came over to the Lakes twice to pick it up whilst leaving me a courtesy car) so now real complaints. The only opportunity would be to carryout a closer inspection of used vehicles prior to selling/delivery. Observation of behaviours and professionalism relating to the team at Keighley was very high. Just changed the gearbox, diffs and transfer oil. Gearbox was clean, diffs and transfer box was a wee bit black but no sign of water, love the motor nice to drive in good to first class condition hopefully it should last me a few years as I'm planning to keep it for a number of years.

I am just emailing to say how delighted I was with the service I received from Colin Appleyards in Shipley last week. I was driving into Shipley to do some shopping & when at the traffic lights a passer by indicated I had a flat tyre on my new Vauxhall Adam. I really wasn't sure what to do, it was pouring down & I was a real ‘damsel in distress’ I noticed your garage across the road & walked over. The staff were so helpful. They asked me to bring my car over & fixed it for me within the hour - just long enough for me to go to the bank & have a coffee even though I was offered a drink in the garage. Then when it came to paying I was very pleasantly surprised. So all in all it was friendly & excellent service & I thought I would let you know how pleased I was. Once again a very big Thank You!

Just a quick personal thank you for your help/input during the on going purchase of our new Qashqai. We’re really glad we came to Colin Appleyard Keighley, as you offer a more friendly personal service than some of the other larger Nissan dealers. Right from the outset it’s been a pleasurable experience dealing with yourself  on behalf of Appleyard’s,   How fortunate I rang you a couple of Saturdays ago due to a negative response at a Bradford dealership! Well worth the journey. Will certainly recommend you to our friends.

Such a poor experience with Huddersfield and Shipley Road branches. There seems to be very little customer care and the salespeople I spoke with definitely didn't wont to go the extra mile. So disappointed I am cancelling my order and buying a Suzuki elsewhere, I though times were hard £7k going elsewhere. See if I can get my deposit back or is that another fib? Neil Mitchell

Usually visiting car showrooms is a horrible experience (no offence J).  I don’t like the bully-boy tactics most sales man use, however Simon (Morley) was like no other I’ve ever dealt with.  He made the whole process a pleasure.  Usually when the sale is complete, you hear nothing but Simon rang me twice, keeping me informed as to what was going on.  He was great with the children and even let the dog in the showroom.  He regularly had me in stitches with his witty comments and humour. Overall a wonderful experience, the car was spotless upon pick-up and all that I had haggled for during the negotiations had been done.  When I come to renew my car, I know exactly where I will be coming.  Many thanks Colin Appleyard Huddersfield branch and please pass on my extra thanks on to Simon. I understand feedback is crucial for improvements in your business, but would never usually fill these forms in.  However I made an exception in this case as I thought the hierarchy at the business needed to know what a pleasure it was dealing with Simon.

Martin is the best salesman I have ever dealt with. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't want and gave me the deal I wanted. I am very satisfied with the service I received, will use Appleyards again and recommend to friends and family.
