The cottage I booked was not as discribed as it was without heating and I had to pay for my logs to heat up the main living room from a small log fire I have made two complaints etc seems that Cottage. Com have taken the side of the landlord and have not had the decency to call verbally for my side of my displeasure as asked for.

We stayed at the Watchkeepers Cottage in Mundesley Norfolk the owners left milk, bread & biscuits which was very thoughtful, the cottage was also very well equipped. But the cottage was dated & needed a lot of TLC, the skirting boards had not seen a cloth & around the stair area everything seemed sticky it needed either a good clean or decorating, the shower screen had a bad case of dirt/mould & needed bleaching, the windows needed a good clean & the garden was very boring with very long grass. It wasn't a cheap cottage & we felt quite done! needless to say we won't be booking Watchkeepers again.

I booked a cottage on friday night and realised that I had double booked, I contacted Cottages.com through their chat, and on saturday I was told that the dates couldnt be changed, after saying this was unreasonable they offered me a change of date, unfortunately as this took quite awhile I had to go out and couldnt contact them, I tried to contact them on sunday but I couldnt get the chat to send a message, so I contacted them monday morning and was told there was definately no way that I could change the dates as it was within a date range when it couldnt be changed, I find this very unacceptable as I contacted them as soon as possible after I realised I had made a mistake, and on saturday they were prepared to offer me a chnge

We stayed in silver dawn , Norfolk The furniture was tired The outside table was broken The mattresss were uncomfortable and one of the single ones was dirty The glass on the cooker was held in with tape The bathroom upstairs flooded due to a blocked plug and the water went into the downstairs wardrobe soaking all the clothes The 8 seater boat that you advertise was a 6 seater The radios had no batteries in them and no leads to plug them in We have stayed previously but we’re very disappointed this time with the amount we paid Not worth the money

I own cottages that I rent out through Cottages.com used to be a good company been with them since 2018 I have been so unhappy with the owner services since the Burley office shut down the staff from Burley We’re always super friendly and would go out the their way to help in anyway they could !! I know many cottages owners thats feel the same and are going to give notice and use another company im going to do the same after this season unless of course if the Burnley office was to reopen it I doubt that such a shame . Stayed at Kay's Cottage, Middleton and would not recommend. The cottage was rather dirty - we had to sweep on arrival (no hoover), sink is very old, fridge had raspberry coloured spillage in it, freezer still had some food in it, frying pan had been used but not washed and oven had to be cleaned - I just wish I had thought to take photos as owner denied my comments. Also be aware, main bedroom is very small (not normally a problem) but the way the bed was situated in front of window meant you would have had no escape route if a fire had broken out (there was a gap between bed and window which did not allow access to the window). The other window was too small to use as an escape route. This cottage should definitely not be graded 4*.

Well where do I start rented a lovely barn in Gloucester called the Retreat . Well it wasn’t for me. I was charged for insurance which I didn’t request paid additional charge for a dog in a property that really wasn’t dog friendly. The description of the property is nothing more then rubbish. No dvd , no bath and no luxury collections . Well at least I didn’t see them. The photos are misleading at best shows a nice open plan space which was tiny dark and un inviting. Barbecue??? What Barbecue a rusty old fire bowl full of ash , no chesterfield sofa as in the pictures just a dirty old sofa and a broken uncomfortable corner unit covered in throws no luxury at all I paid over £1,100 to stay in this place and stayed there for less then 24 hours. Don’t recommend booking with this company . Given the reviews I haven’t even bothered contacting them as I don’t want the stress or to waste my time.

I had a 3 day break booked at the height of the petrol shortage crisis. With no guarantee of having enough petrol to get there or back I contacted Customer Services. Despite paying £25 for additional insurance there was no provision for unexpected events and I would only get 5% of my £400 back. After booking through them and Hoseasons for 4 years this will be my last booking. I prefer to give my money to companies who are able to accommodate events beyond their customers control.

6 times I've called requesting information for the insurance company and still nothing. I've no choice now but to go to ABTA
