“Expensive membership, scarce work – drivers left out of pocket
Review (≈180 words):
I joined Courier Exchange after paying £2,000 + VAT for “non-refundable” software and taking out the Goods-in-Transit insurance they recommend. I was assured that the platform would give me enough loads to make a living, but reality was very different.
• Hardly any return jobs. When I did get an outbound load, I almost always drove home empty, wiping out the profit.
• Long payment terms. Many loads pay 45-90 days after delivery, yet fuel, insurance and maintenance are due immediately.
• All risk on the driver. CX makes money upfront from the membership fee and (it appears) commissions on the insurance they push, while we drivers gamble our savings and often end up in the red.
• No transparency. If work were truly abundant, CX could just hire drivers directly and pay a fair wage – but they don’t.
After months on the platform I’m filing a tax return that shows a loss, not a profit. Unless CX drastically changes its model or refunds fees to drivers who can’t secure work, I cannot recommend this service to anyone.”
“Urgent Concerns Regarding CX Courier Exchange Business
Dear CX Courier Exchange,
I am writing to express serious concerns regarding my experience with your platform and to highlight the challenges I—and many other drivers—have faced since joining.
Your company sells software for approximately £2,000 + VAT, which is explicitly stated to be non-refundable. This is a significant investment, and one that is made in good faith, based on the expectation that drivers will have access to enough work to make a reasonable living. However, my experience has been quite the opposite.
Key Issues I Have Faced:
Lack of Return Jobs:
On the rare occasions I was able to secure a job, I often had to return home with an empty van, making it financially unsustainable. These non-profitable return trips wipe out any earnings from the outbound job.
Long Payment Terms:
Many of the available jobs come with payment terms of 45, 60, or even 90 days. Meanwhile, drivers must cover ongoing costs like fuel and insurance out of pocket. This gap between job completion and payment makes it nearly impossible to manage cash flow, especially for independent couriers.
High Start-up Costs:
In order to begin working through your platform, drivers are required to invest heavily: purchasing the software, a suitable van, and insurance coverage. This forces many to borrow money or dip into personal savings—based on the belief that the investment will be returned through steady work.
Insurance Recommendations Without Job Availability:
CX recommends third-party Goods in Transit insurance providers, yet does not ensure there is sufficient job availability to justify this cost. This puts drivers in a financially vulnerable position, paying for coverage they cannot even utilize effectively due to lack of work.
As a result of these systemic issues, I have not been able to earn enough to cover my liabilities, let alone turn a profit or pay taxes. In fact, I, like many others, will be filing a tax return showing losses. If your platform genuinely had enough job availability, then you could employ drivers directly, pay them a fair wage, and handle tax responsibilities in-house.
The current business model shifts all risk to the drivers while your company profits from software sales. If CX Courier Exchange truly values fairness and transparency, you should consider refunding software fees to drivers who have not been able to generate work, or—at the very least—restructure your system to ensure they can succeed.
At present, it appears that the company is focused on generating revenue through software sales, without adequate concern for whether drivers can actually sustain a livelihood on your platform. This is not only unethical but unsustainable.
I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and reflect on how the platform can be improved to genuinely support your driver network.
Regards,”
“Very unreliable and simply a pure scam. I wish I had seen reviews before committing my hard earned money. I was used and blocked out from withdrawals after depositing a very huge amount of money over half a million dollars and when I complained they demanded more money before I could unfreeze my account and withdraw, I realized they're fake investment fellows. I had heard of TheresachinRecovery INC from my co-worker who had similar issues cause we were both victims at the same time, so i took it to them and they followed up on my behalf. I couldn't believe it when I got notification of my $515k refunded successfully after several intense investigations by TheresachinRecovery INC, they're my helpers and I won't be selfish with their info. Here is their info email them : t h e r e s a c h i n 1 2 1 2 @ g m a i l . c o m

“Simply don't invest in this CX company or any of their partners. Looks like the company is on a greedy gravy train.
Here are my observations:
1. There are very less to none evening jobs especially after 5pm, consider this if you are planning to do this as a side business.
2. Even if you find one (this applies to day jobs as well), you will need to submit a bid first, write down a template for copy pasting every single time you submit a quotation, evaluate the pricing depending on your vehicle and calculate the distances also because most of the time distances are shown incorrect and shown low figures on CX.
Be aware some load posters are cutting corners when they mention distances. Check my screenshots, for example there was a job from Salford M50 to Louth LN11 with a single stop at Pontefract WF7. When I checked the route on Google Maps the whole distance came to 148 miles but the load poster mentioned it 132.8 miles and that's 15.2 miles difference.(worth around £20 quid loss)!! I spoke with the load poster who was very adamant and rude as well, not willing to accept the figures from google maps, he went on saying that whatever distance advertised on CX is correct and that's what we will pay nothing more than £130.00.
3. Most of the jobs are available outside 10-20 miles home radius i.e when you filter and set the radius search=30, you will see jobs but if you accept any job then you'll end up paying fuel cost for the distance from home to that first collection point.
4. Bidding for jobs is a waste of time. Submitting a quote, waiting for them to update (there is no SLA for when the load poster will get back to you, ideally there should be a countdown 15mins/ 30mins before confirming that your job got accepted or rejected) load poster don't contact you to update or negotiate. So totally avoid this gambling game. It's not worth it.
5. CX should simplify the tasks for the driver and not overload them with management tasks like fetching jobs, getting payments agreed with load poster on behalf of the driver for the distance and type of vehicle, optimised route planning, help in finding recurring/repeated jobs etc. All of this should be taken care of when they charge you £1800.00 per annum and no refunds allowed.
6. Payment structure is pretty bad. There is no monthly payment facility, you have to pay a lump sum amount of £1800 /year to get their package and the worst thing is no refunds allowed. If any customer is not happy with their service, they just lose their money, no option to stop the service, they will have to pay them regardless for the whole year whether they use the service or not.
7. They failed to pay me for a completed job (screenshot attached). Invoice was created and sent to the company on 27 Aug 2024, still it is not yet paid. That was the only job I had completed and not paid in the last 3 months. That's ridiculous. I discussed with CX customer support team, instead of they chasing the load poster for the payment they have asked me to email them and let them know. CX needs to step up in the matter and ensure that payments are completed and on time for the drivers as soon as the jobs are done. Almost for all the jobs they take 30-45 days of time for payment, some even have a 90 day period.”
“Courier exchange have allowed us to be extorted twice, as well as be threatened, verbally abused and allow our company to be slandered.
Each time we provide them with evidence they tell us they can't help us.
Theu are happy for you to be extorted on multiple occasions and are not bothered if you've been threatened or had your goods held to ransom so long as you pay the invoices on time!
Save your self the worry and stress and join SDCN instead!”
