“Serious Policy Contradictions, Loopholes & Exploitation of Paying Members
I was a paying member of DateMyAge for over 15 months and lost of money chatting with a “free/featured” user who refused to participate in a single video call despite the site’s own Communication Policy stating that:
“Free users have video calls with contacts at least twice per month.” the free user associated with my case along with multiple other free/featured profiles did not have video-call functions enabled. This directly contradicts your stated policy.
This safeguard is supposed to protect paying members yet it was never enforced. The user continued to communicate only through chat and audio messages for more than a year, without consequence.
When I reported the non-compliance, Customer Success Managers closed my case by rewriting the rule as ‘optional’, using language like “mutual consent” and “personal decision” terms that do not appear anywhere in their published policy.
Later, another representative admitted the issue and promised to “investigate,” proving that even internally, their stance is inconsistent and contradictory.
I also discovered that many free/featured profiles have video call functions disabled by default, making it impossible for paying members to verify identity. That defeats the very purpose of the safeguard.
The platform’s refund process is deliberately vague, with no clear accountability on who reviews claims or how decisions are made. No reimbursement was offered, despite clear evidence of policy violations.
In short:
• Policies say one thing, the company enforces another.
• Free users can violate safeguards with no consequences.
• Paying members carry all the financial risk with no protection.
• Customer support gives circular answers instead of action.
I am sharing my experience to warn others: this platform uses a policy enforcement gap to keep you paying while offering no real protection.
I’ve deleted my account permanently and will be escalating this matter to consumer protection authorities.”

I hope the company wouldn't get offended, but based on my experience, some navigations here are confusing. I get to click a certain button which leads me to another site.
Maybe clarify it more somehow.
I contacted their chat support, and I was advised it's because I agreed to the terms for coregistration. Guess what?

I initially had concerns with DateMyAge, particularly about being billed twice and the credit system, which felt more beneficial to the site than the user. Exiting the chat unintentionally also used to cost credits, which was frustrating. However, I'm pleased to say these issues have since been fixed. The billing has been corrected, and the credit system now feels more transparent. There’s still a great selection of people to connect with, and while I’m not a fan of paying for symbols or extra features, the overall experience has improved. I appreciate the changes made.”
“I am not impressed with being billed twice. The credit system is a boon for DateMyAge as members have to continue paying when they find that person to speak with. Another issue is that if you unintentionally exit the chat site, it will cost you credits. On the positive, there was a great selection of people, I would like to have met. You are better paying fees upfront to avoid extra fees. The purchase of symbols are a waste of time and only beneficial to site. Avoid this site.”
“Extremely commercial! They are some good profiles (not sure if they are fake?!) but it’s not adapted to human nature, specifically for women! It’s a source of income instead of human connection! It gives a feeling not only we are products but also we have to pay systematically to communicate!!!!! Just unbelievable. Such a pity!”
