“Absolutely AWFUL. Do not order from this company or be fooled by all the positive reviews on their other 'Design a House Sign' reviews account. They let us down massively with an order for an xmas gift. Was promised a 48hr turn around and paid extra for this service. Sign arrived 3 weeks late with ZERO communication from the company. Disgusting way to treat customers.”

“Never received my order and customer service appears to not exist! I ordered my sign on 13th October, it is now December 31st 2020. I understand it’s been a rough year, but I have emailed 3x and still waiting on a response. I really want signs, I would just be grateful for a response and help to track the items I have paid for. If this is not possible I would appreciate help with getting a full refund please.”

“paid for two signs over £200. only received one sign and it was awful quality made for foam. they do not have a phone number and need to wait for email response. never again. its a Con.”

“AVOID. Read Trust Pilot Reviews. Sign arrived damaged and was of very poor quality. Wouldn't give me a refund. Managed to get my money back through Paypal. Use Slateworksigns on Etsy - fabulous work and a pleasure to deal with. Quality of Ian's signs outshines the low grade goods I received from Design a House Sign and it was half the price. I shall continue posting reviews anywhere I can to help others avoid my issue.”

“Our house sign arrived very late after ordering on August 15th and we are really disappointed with the quality of the sign. It appears to be a tile which has been painted and does not look like an etched slate from the website. It looks like it has been printed on rather than etched as advertised . It also has white marks over the tile spoiling the appearance. We do not feel this is what we thought we were ordering and would like a refund but we have emailed the company and heard nothing back. A complete waste of time and money.”

“Very poor quality. The numbers and lettering are barely visible and the finish is terrible. It took months to arrive and wont be going up outside my house. Expensive and disappointing.”

“Much the same story as other reviews. Ordered two house signs over a month ago. First attempt arrived about 8 days later. The order was wrong. Couldn't get through on the phone and after multiple email messages finally agreed to send a replacement. Was told it had been dispatched, waited for 10 days to receive the signs. One sign arrived, incorrect again with exactly the same error. Finally spoke with someone called Luke White, Customer Service Manager. Assured me that the correct items would be dispatched 'on Friday' a week ago. Still waiting and all gone quiet on email and can't get through on the phone. Just about to request a refund and report to the credit card company. Can't understand how they are in business.”

“Rubbish . . . avoid is all I can say. Buying from these guys is buying a headache, if something turns up it will be wrong, I only received half my order. The screw holes were not aligned, the aluminium is bottom of the range quality, and the vinyl letters will not last. I had to take them to the threshold of the Small Claims Court before I got my money back. Be careful, they have alternative company names, but you can't mistake their lack of desire to serve the consumer. And the big plus is that I've gone to a professional sign-maker and he's a bit cheaper too!”

“Please DO NOT buy a house sign from this company. The sign we received is nothing like the one shown in the picture. We received a pale grey slate sign with cream numbering instead of a charcoal coloured slate with white writing. The photos are totally misleading and it appears the company think this is totally acceptable. We now need to repurchase another sign from a different company.”

“Don’t buy from this company it is a scam, have waited 3 months for my signs and they can’t give a despatch day or tracking number. Customer service is terrible and they will not refund or send goods. Quite simply it’s a scam they never send the goods you order. If I could give a -1 star rating I would”

“The delivered sign doesn't resemble the website design (in reality, dreary grey rather than bright white numbers) and the whole thing looks cheap and nasty. When I contacted them, they chirpily told me the sign was as it should be, then silence. Avoid this company.”

“Absolute joke of a company. Waited 4 weeks for delivery including a number of phone calls and emails to chase. When product arrived it was damaged. I emailed photos and rang to ask for a full refund. I was asked to wait for returns label to be emailed to me, print it out, repackage the items and send them back. I was unwilling to do this as I have spent enough time chasing this company. Be warned!”

“Awful experience, sent me defected slate house sign, had a big imperfection and crack over one of the numbers. Kept telling me it was because it was a natural material. Who wants a sign with an obvious flaw which ruins the look of the sign which has to go outside their house! Obviously no Quality checking going on and just a bad attitude. After about 8 emails and refusing to refund they finally decided to send a replacement (after I had to pay to send the original one back!) and I asked for the same sign in a different material this time so there would be no difference of opinion (plexiglass) When the replacement arrived, lo and behold it was the slate version again not plexiglass. On top of that this one was damaged too, looked like in transit because the packaging was awful so the corners got damaged. Terrible customer service if you don't get what you want and I still have no refund of a poultry £25 - could have been so easy for them to refund and let me walk away to shop elsewhere, now I am writing a review which I am sure they do not want.”
