“Procedure Date: 17th May 2025 Grafts: 4,500 (3,000 front, including new hairline, dense-packing approach and 1,500 mid-scalp area) I spent weeks on Reddit, google, Facebook, etc. researching hair transplants options, deciding between spending the extra money to have surgery here in the US, Turkey or Thailand. Once, I felt comfortable that I could find a first class clinic in Turkey and sifting through all the hair mills I had narrowed it down to either Dr. Turin (DHI) or Dr. Demircioglu (FUE). I received detailed plans and estimates from both clinics but I chose Diamond Hair Clinic and Dr. Demircioglu due to his personal involvement (at no extra charge), his “one patient a day” philosophy, his flat pricing (same price regardless of how many grafts) and the reviews of his previous patients. The communication from the clinics admin was amazing, he responded at all hours of the night. Then Dr. Demircioglu personally reviewed my uploaded photos (which were extensive) and made a personalized plan that detailed his recommendations (4,500 grafts in the front and mid scalp and creating a new but natural and age appropriate hairline). It was clear upfront that they would not be able to cover my bald spot with the first surgery and a second one would be required of approx 2,500 grafts a year later if I chose. The clinic does not require a deposit but your reservation was not held until you show your airline reservations to Istanbul. For me they had availability in May when I inquired in mid-January and the spot was still available when i booked my tickets in February. The price was all-inclusive including transfers by Emir (who is a great guy and has one of the most luxurious vans I’ve been in) hotel, and six months of medications, shampoos and post op care. I’ve never been to Turkey but do travel extensively. I found Istanbul to be a beautiful city with warm, fun people, amazing food and we enjoyed a couple days sightseeing before surgery. My wife was with me and we were meeting friends in Istanbul so we skipped the included hotel and booked on our own. The clinic deducted the 300 eur for the hotel room charges so my final bill was 5,700 Eur. I paid cash in USD (no credit cards accepted) and had to bring a little more cash since exchange rate had been fluctuating; the final cost was just over 6,300 USD. From the time of the booking to the day of the surgery there was countless and consistent communication with the clinic on procedures, expectations and preparations and then a week before surgery I was emailed a PDF file reiterating the plan for the procedure, pre-op instructions and post-op instructions and expectations. On the morning of the surgery I was met by directly by Dr. Mehmet who speaks English fluently (another plus over Dr. Turin) and he went through every part of the plan again. I was immediately at ease and comfortable with Dr. Demircioglu as we spent an hour getting to know each other and walking me through the day. Then we spent another 45 minutes creating and drawing a hairline. He’s got an artists eye in seeing a natural hairline with his focus on it being natural to my face and emphasizing age appropriate since I’m nearly 50 y/o. The day consisted of 2 hours of extraction (face down), a lunch break, 2 hours of creating the incisions which were done exclusively by Dr. Dermicouglu, another break and then 3 hours of implantation. I arrived at the clinic around 8:15 and left a little after 6:30 PM. I had read that the anesthesia is the most painful part and that was definitely the case for me. The needles for the initial numbing (about 15 to 20 small injections) were the most painful part of the day. Then the larger injections of more anesthesia and fluid are uncomfortable but not unbearable. In all after 10 minutes or so I was pain free for the remainder of the day. I know some Thai clinics offer Valium but that was not offered and not sure it was really needed in my case. Lunch was a cheese pizza from Dominoes (a welcome taste from home) and a local favorite drink (think salty yogurt water). Face down was a bit boring but I hadn’t been sleeping well so I napped a bit during that part. Face up part was fine until my AirPod batteries died and the male technician rambled in Turkish language almost non-stop about subjects that were clearly unrelated to me. It was mildly annoying and I wished I had brought a second set of AirPods or a brand with a longer battery life. I was pleasantly surprised with how I looked and felt immediately after the surgery. The swelling went down quickly and I was very happy with the hairline he created and because of the health of my donor area he was able to cover more of my scalp than he thought before the surgery. I also felt great after the surgery. I needed some fresh air but stayed in for the night and didn’t leave the hotel room the next day at all. Sleeping wasn’t terrible and I was given a very nice neck pillow which helped. Dr. Mehmet was very insistent about staying upright for a couple of days to make sure the fluids didn’t drain to my face and I was mostly able to avoid that until I had some minor swelling in my right eye after the 9 hour flight home. After a rest day, Emir picked me up at 7 AM to head to the clinic where I met with Dr. Demircioglu again to inspect the grafts, remove the donor bandages and complete the first wash. He spent a total 90 minutes with me going through the medications, washing process, shampoos, DHT blocker (Adovart) and his recommendations for post-op care. He also insists on daily photos of the grafts after the daily wash and responds to each day with his thoughts (so far everything is looking good). Everything Diamond Hair Clinic and Dr. Mehmet Demircioglu promised they delivered and more. He was thorough, kind and talented and I’m very happy with my decision so far. I’m currently day 6 post surgery and I’m healing well.”

“Date of procedure - 23rd March 2025 Number of grafts - 3,500 I was very wary of taking the leap of faith and going from Ireland to Istanbul to get a hair transplant. My crown had been balding slowly for ten years but in recent years the rest of my hair had really started to thin particularly at the hairline where it was also receding. Not only was I wary of the procedure itself but the idea of taking medication long term into the future did not appeal to me (this by the way is a must if you want long term positive results after the operation). I started researching online, various “reputable” hair transplant clinics and communicated with several. They were all pleasant and similarly priced, however, the interactions did not fill me with confidence. The reviews were all similar and I couldn’t help feeling that many were uploaded by the clinics themselves. This after all was a lot of money and life changing surgery in terms of how my hairline and face was going to look like going into the future. I started to get itchy feet despite two of the clinics putting pressure on me to book and pay a deposit. All of the clinics just seemed the same with very little to differentiate them from each other. What freaked me out most was not knowing which doctor I would have, if it was even going to be a doctor and what their experience was etc. This after all is a highly qualified skill, an art even and I wanted to see the specific person’s previous work. Just like I would like to see the previous work of a tradesman or painter that I would hire for a job. It was at this point that I googled “boutique hair clinic Istanbul”. Several clinics came up in the search including Dr. Mehmet Demircioğlu and Diamond hair clinic. What stood out was his straight talking website with informative articles (not the bells and whistles of celebrity style hair mill clinics). I read the reviews (which were all certified) and I was really comforted by the idea that I would be the only patient for the day and that Dr. Demircioğlu would be carrying out the procedure himself. From the reviews I could see this doctors personal work and their results. I also liked the realistic imperfect hairline that was a trademark of his surgery (not the action- man figure straight line of other clinics). I contacted Mahmood, Diamond hair clinic’s line of contact and I immediately knew that this was a different type of clinic. The breadth and depth of questions that he asked, the number of photos that he looked for, not only of my current condition but of what my hair looked like previous to hair loss, all filled me with reassurance. The communication and the proposed case file that was prepared by Dr. Demircioğlu himself was detailed and professional. Certainly the cost is more than a hair mill clinic but with the level of care and attention it is value for money. After all you get what you pay for. I appreciated Mahmood’s honesty and advice in what was possible and what was not. With the other clinics, they seemed to say yes to everything as they just wanted me to book and pay a deposit. I am not going to go into all the detail of the day’s procedure as it has already been covered from many other reviewers. Suffice to say that everything from the moment that I was picked up from the airport to the completion of my surgery was carried out with the utmost care and professionalism. I had 3,500 grafts transferred. Elements of the procedure were a little painful and the recovery over the first ten days was pretty intense in terms of discomfort etc. What I was not expecting was the level of aftercare and communication with Dr. Demircioğlu. He gave me his personal number and we were in daily contact, offering his support, advice and appraisal of progress for two weeks post surgery (I must also update on a monthly basis for the next eighteen months so that he can assess progress). It has been only 1 month since the operation and so early days in terms of results. I am very pleased with the hairline that Dr. Demircioğlu designed (he spent at least 45 minutes on the morning of the operation crafting this and ensuring I was happy with it). Getting a hair transplant is not something to be undertaken lightly. There is a lot of trust involved. You must choose the professional that will be undertaking the surgery as this is how you are going to look for the rest of your life. Going for a clinic that only operates on one patient a day is certainly more expensive but it is worth spending the extra money if you can afford it, for peace of mind and for the quality of procedure. I would fully endorse Dr. Mehmet Demircioğlu. He is a skilled surgeon and artist, full of integrity and professionalism. He was so kind and patient throughout the process, happy to answer all of my questions (which I’m sure he had been asked a hundred times before!). There were no hidden costs or upselling at Diamond Hair Clinic. I was given all the medication and hair treatment products like specialist shampoos and vitamins as part of the package.”

“After months of research and reading countless reviews, I chose Diamond Hair Clinic in Istanbul for my hair transplant, specifically under the care of Dr. Mehmet Demircioğlu. One big reason why I chose Dr. Demircioglu was that he only sees one patient per day which gave me the peace of mind that I am not walking into a "hair mill". Now, a few weeks post-procedure, I’m excited to share my full experience. From the moment I arrived in Istanbul, everything was exceptionally well-organized. I was warmly greeted at the airport by a professional driver arranged by the clinic and transported directly to a comfortable, modern hotel included as part of the package. The next morning, I enjoyed a healthy breakfast at the hotel — a good mix of fruits, proteins, and lighter options — perfect to prepare for the long day ahead. Right at 7 a.m., I was promptly picked up and taken to the clinic, where the team was already prepared and waiting for me. Before starting the procedure, I had an in-person consultation with Dr. Demircioğlu. He took his time to thoroughly explain the entire process step-by-step, from graft extraction to implantation and post-operative care. He encouraged me to ask as many questions as I needed, making sure I felt completely comfortable and informed before moving forward. The entire procedure was divided into three main parts, each lasting about two hours: Graft Extraction: Hair follicles were carefully harvested from the donor area (back of the scalp). “I had my hair transplant at Diamond Hair Clinic on December 7th, 2024 led by Dr. Mehmet Demircioglu. In this review, I’ll try to be as honest, open, and detailed as possible about my experience. Before choosing this clinic, I spent a considerable amount of time researching all the possible options. I’ve learned a lot about hair transplants and hair loss over the years, having tried many different treatments in the past. One thing I knew for sure that I wanted to avoid "hair mills," where clinics take in large numbers of patients each day, and you never really know which team of technicians you'll be assigned to. You might get lucky and end up with an S-tier team that usually works on influencers for marketing purposes supervised closely by the actual doctor. Or, you might end up with an F-tier team made up of people who were, quite literally, taxi drivers the week before. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that no clinic is perfect, but in my opinion, it was crucial to reduce risks by choosing a clinic that treats only one patient per day and where the doctor is directly involved and supervises every step of the procedure. So, I focused only on clinics that work with one patient per day. Two things were the deciding factors for me when it came to choosing Hair Diamond Clinic: 1. Their website stood out—it wasn’t filled with marketing gimmicks or just impressive before-and-after hairline pictures like many other clinics. Instead, it focused on educating potential patients. It provided a lot of valuable and practical information to help you understand the entire process before deciding to go through with a hair transplant, and before choosing them specifically. I really appreciated this open and honest approach. 2. The communication was excellent. It was smooth, respectful, and pressure-free. They never tried to push me into a decision or rush the process. There was no sales pitch, no urgency, just clear answers and supportive dialogue, which made the whole interaction feel very professional and genuine. This is when I decided to move forward with the clinic. I initially reached out to them during the summer of 2024, but due to their and mine booked schedule, my surgery was set for December 7th which actually worked out perfectly for me. One thing that really stood out to me was how low pressure the process was. I didn’t have to sign any contracts or pay anything upfront. To reserve the date, all I had to do was send my flight tickets and passport information. The reservation could be canceled by me at any time without any penalties. I paid €6,000 (excluding flight tickets, which were quite affordable since I was traveling from within Europe). This price covered everything: the surgery itself, hotel accommodation, airport transfers, and a full aftercare package which included things like shampoos, vitamins, healing ointments, and other essential post-op supplies. I arrived in Istanbul the day before the surgery. They picked me up from the airport in a spacious car and drove me to the hotel arranged by the clinic. They explained to me that the car was large not for show or marketing purposes, but for a practical reason: after the procedure, it’s important not to bump or touch your head, and a bigger car reduces the risk of accidental contact during transport. Day of the Surgery: They picked me up from the hotel at 7 a.m. and took me to the clinic, where I had a consultation with Dr. Mehmet Demircioglu. The consultation lasted around 2 to 3 hours. We discussed the number of grafts, the hairline design, and our overall goals to ensure that both the doctor and I would be satisfied with the final result. What really impressed me was how committed the doctor was to achieving the best possible outcome. Originally, the plan was to extract 4,500 grafts. However, after a detailed conversation, I explained that I had stabilized my hair loss using topical treatments like minoxidil and pyrilutamide (a topical anti-androgen). Because of that, I asked the doctor to mainly focus on restoring the temples and hairline, while leaving areas with strong existing hair untouched. This would preserve more donor hair for potential future procedures and also make it easier to wear my hair short on the sides and back. I also requested that the hairline not be designed too low or too straight. Instead, I preferred a slightly higher hairline to save grafts and still maintain good density in the transplanted area (was also suggested by the doctor). The doctor spent a significant amount of time carefully designing the hairline, incorporating small irregularities to make it look as natural as possible. This level of attention and customization really showed his experience and dedication to getting the best, most realistic result. The doctor also warned me about a potential risk that if my existing (non-transplanted) hair especially in the mid scalp area that I chose not to reinforce starts to thin or fall out in the future, the final result could look uneven or unnatural. I told him I was fully aware of this possibility. Based on my current hair loss stabilization over the past two years largely thanks to pyrilutamide I was willing to take that risk. I made it clear that the responsibility would be mine if I start losing more native hair in the untreated areas later on. The doctor agreed that exceeding 4,500 grafts could potentially make the transplant noticeable when the hair is cut very short, so together we decided to go with 3,500 grafts instead (2850 grafts for temples, hairline and 750 grafts to increase density on top of my head). This part of the experience was especially important to me. The doctor spoke English fluently, listened carefully, and was able to communicate everything clearly. I felt involved in every decision, and that gave me a lot of confidence moving forward. Surgery Experience: The surgery lasted almost 8 hours and was divided into three main phases. I won’t go into too much detail here, as the overall process has been well documented in other reviews and my experience was quite similar. What I do want to highlight is that the doctor was present for approximately 70% of the time. He also personally performed all the incisions, which is according my research arguably the most critical part of the entire procedure. There was very little pain during the surgery, apart from the initial anesthesia injections. I personally tend to require more anesthesia than average, so during the extraction phase, I occasionally felt pain. However, I immediately let them know, and they responded quickly with an additional dose of anesthesia. This happens to me frequently even during procedures like wisdom tooth removal so it wasn’t anything new and surprising. Post-Surgery: After the surgery, I was thoroughly instructed on aftercare procedures. I was then taken back to the hotel, where I stayed for two more nights. The hardest part of the entire hair transplant process, in my opinion, is the first 1–2 weeks of recovery. You cannot touch your scalp at all during this time to avoid damaging the newly transplanted grafts. You also need to sleep in an upright, elevated position between 45 to 90 degrees using a special neck pillow provided by the clinic. It’s not physically painful, but it does take some getting used to. Two days after the surgery, I was transported to the airport and flew back home. Another great aspect of this clinic is the follow-up. The doctor stays in touch with you through WhatsApp, and he's very responsive, often replying within minutes. You’re asked to send progress photos (initially daily), so the doctor can monitor your healing, check for signs of infection, and guide you through every stage of recovery. Thankfully, my post-op experience went very smoothly, and I didn’t encounter any complications. Current Status & Final Thoughts: I’m now three and a half months post-surgery. Every month, I can see visible progress, more hair and more density. Of course, the full results are expected between 12–18 months, so I still have a long way to go. Overall, I’d describe the experience as exceptional. I didn’t face a single issue, which is quite rare as I was actually expecting something to go wrong at some point, but everything went better than I anticipated. Now I can only hope that the surgery continues to be successful and that I’ll achieve the final outcome I’ve been aiming for. “I received a hair transplant of 4,000 grafts on February 15, 2025 from Dr. Mehmet Demircioglu. TLDR: I had an extremely positive experience with this clinic and I'm very content with my transplant (so far) and the care and communication I received from Diamond Hair Clinic. Prior to scheduling this procedure/surgery, I did a lot of research on multiple clinics in Turkey. I was instantly impressed with the consultation I had with Dr. Mehmet's team by just reaching out to them on WhatsApp. Other clinics I reached out to simply asked for a few photos and then sent an infographic with different tiers of pricing depending on how many grafts you wanted. This felt very impersonal and, I later found out, are more indicative of a "hair mill", which I was trying to avoid. This is very different from what I received from Diamond Hair Clinic. I was instructed to take multiple photos and videos of my hairline and was even prompted to retake photos that didn't meet their standards. After a few weeks, I was provided a customized 40+ page document of what procedure the clinic recommended and how many grafts they thought I should do. This personalized treatment plan was ONLY given to me by Diamond Hair Clinic out of the ~10 clinics I reach out to. Once I received this plan and was told Dr. Mehment's clinic only does ~10 procedures a month, I decided to move forward with the procedure because of how thorough and detailed it was and my confidence this wasn't a hair mill. They have a set price of €6000, regardless of how many grafts they do, and that price included hotel, transportation, and the procedure. I reached out in the beginning of November 2024 and 3 weeks later confirmed my appointment and booked my procedure for February 15, 2025. When I arrived in Turkey, I was greeted by the driver and picked up in a very spacious, nice car that was used to transport me from the airport to the hotel (this same van, or similar ones were used for transportation throughout my stay). I arrived a few days earlier than anticipated, but the Diamond Hair Clinic worked with me to extend my stay at the hotel for little additional cost. The morning of the procedure, I ate breakfast at the hotel as recommended and was promptly picked up by the driver and taken to the clinic. There, I met with Dr. Mehmet for the first time and was instantly put at ease by the doctor's communicative manner. Dr. Mehmet thoroughly explained everything about the procedure and really seemed to care about my questions and concerns and really seemed to take my input into account. He went over my pictures and then in person went over my donor area. During this in-person examination, he determined my donor area was healthy enough to increase my grafts, so I went from an expected 3,500 -> 4,000 grafts (3,000 on my hairline and 1,000 on the crown of my head). He walked me through the procedure and communicated everything that would happen in a detailed and professional manner. The actual procedure was long (8 hours total) and I was allowed to wear airpods throughout most of it to pass the time and listen to music/audiobooks. The anesthesia was the most painful part, but once it set in I could not feel anything. The procedure was so seamless that I even fell asleep during parts of it. The care I received from all of the staff at the clinic was very warm and welcoming. During the middle of the procedure, I was provided a short break and lunch. After the procedure, I was escorted back to the hotel and followed the instructions provided by the Dr. The next day, I stayed in the hotel and followed the instructions. The 2nd day after my procedure and the day I was leaving for the airport, I was picked up and brought back to the clinic for my post-op review with Dr. Mehmet. He looked to make sure everything seemed okay and explained what the next 2 weeks would be like in terms of aftercare (when to wash, how to take care of the scabbing, and to send pictures daily). He was responsive when I would send pictures every day for the 2 week aftercare period and often provided helpful tips. My overall experience with Dr. Mehmet and Diamond Hair Clinic was really amazing. I was very impressed by their communication, his attention to detail, his care for the surgery (not just trying to make money by turning the clinic into a hair mill), his team and staff, and the clinic. I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a quality hair transplant. Cons: The only cons I really had with this process is the clinic is CASH ONLY and carrying that much money in a foreign country was a little scary so make sure to take precautions. Additionally, the hotel is not as "nice" as other clinics might offer, but I'd much rather pay for proper treatment and attention by the doctor instead of frills like staying a a nicer hotel that the hair mills seem to use. The pictures I've provided are how I looked going to the airport, the first day I got home, one week after the transplant, and the day after I removed the scabs. Currently, I'm just past the 'shedding' phase of the transplant, so my hair looks a little weird at the moment (that is expected!).”

“I had my hair transplant ( 4500 grafts) by Dr Mehmet Demircioglu at Diamond hair clinic on 16th Feb 25. Overall it was an amazing experience for me right from the start o f consultation ( remote) till my surgery and the post op care . I am based in UK and I am a Physician by trade. Having done lots of research about various clinics offering hair transplant both in UK and outside , I eventually chose Dr Mehmet Demircioglu's diamond hair clinic. This was largely influenced by the professionalism, expertise and my interaction with Dr Mehmet Demircioglu and his team. I had my initial consultation by sending videos and pictures through WhatsApp and had a comprehensive report about the number of grafts required, details of the surgery, post op care . I didn't feel pressurised to make a decision and they answered my numerous queries swiftly. As we all know there are numerous hair transplant clinics in Istanbul and most of them run as a factory with less personalised approach and the transplant procedure is not done by the named surgeon but rather their assistants. Hence they keep the costs down. When I found out that Dr Mehmet Demircioglu does only 10 transplants per month and only 1 per day , that gave me lots of reassurance as this would mean more personalised approach and the surgeon is involved with only you and no one else. I was picked up by the driver at the airport ( part of package) and arrived at the hotel in the night. The hotel was modern with all amenities and the staff were amazing. The next day early morning after breakfast, I was picked up by the driver to the clinic for the procedure . It was a 30 min drive to the clinic . The clinic is modern, clean with all amenities. I was received by Dr Mehmet and I was impressed by his professionalism and his calm demeanor. He explained in great details about the sequence of events. I had my bloods done to ensure there is no evidence of infection ( Hepatitis, hiv). Dr Mehmet spent great amount of time discussing about the hair line which is a key part of this procedure. His attention to detail and always thinking about patients perspective impressed me. He introduced me to his other team members who have vast experience of assisting the procedure. The procedure room was clean , well lit and modern . After drawing the hairline, they shaved my head and then the procedure started. Once the area was cleaned and sterilised, they numbed my scalp with local anaesthetic and then they instill a fluid between the scalp to ensure they have enough space to extract and implant the hair. The process of numbing the scalp with anaesthetic can be a bit painful but manageable otherwise the whole process is not painful. My surgery was finished by evening and the transport dropped me at the hotel . I had to stay at the hotel the next day as its important not to go outside and ensure the graft site is not damaged. On the 2nd post op day, I went for an early morning check and dressing change and the driver dropped me to the airport. Dr Mehmet had further consultation with me to go through the post op care, medications , advice about exercise, lifestyle. He also gave me a realistic timeline about the final results post transplant as people often expect the results immediately which doesn't happen in the field of medicine. It's been a month since I had a transplant and though its too early to see any results , I had a great experience with Dr Mehmet and his team. The post op care is solely supervised by Dr Mehmet and I have to send him the pictures daily for 12 days . This is really important part as once we travel back to our country we need to have a mechanism of closed supervision post op. I was impressed by his attention to details as he would often advice me to modify some of the post op treatment after looking at the pictures. He was very prompt in answering to my queries from his personal contact number. From a Physician perspective I found them very professional with amazing surgical skills and clinical knowledge, it was a modern and clean surgical setup . From the perspective of being a patient , I was well informed by Dr Mehmet as he spends a great amount of time in addressing your queries, I felt reassured during the procedure as Dr Mehmet is present during all the stages of the procedure . It's not about just supervising but Dr Mehmet is involved in all the key parts of the procedure which sets them apart to other " instagram hit clinics" where its more of glamour and less of substance. “I had my hair transplant with Dr Mehmet Demircioglu at Diamond Hair Clinic on 1 February, 2025. I had 5,000 grafts to cover the hairline (3,500 grafts) and the crown (1,500 grafts). Heads up – a (very) Lengthy review below. I’ve tried to include a few tips which might be helpful for people. I’ve also added some subheads if you want to skim through to any bits that might be helpful/relevant. The intention of this review is to provide as thorough an account as possible of my experience for anyone who wants to take a deep dive into some of what to expect and what might be helpful to have in mind if they proceed with the procedure. Review From sending my initial enquiry to the clinic’s support team, to being dropped off at the airport to fly home from Istanbul, I am delighted to say that every stage of the process was smooth, professional, and meticulously executed, in what was altogether a remarkably seamless and positive experience. Like so many patients willing to travel abroad to undergo a hair transplant, I spent countless hours researching the industry, weighing up the different kinds of clinics, the countries they are based in, and the various surgeons. My research soon led me to the advice that it is important to select a surgeon-led clinic rather than go to a “hair mill”, where multiple procedures are carried out each day, usually performed solely by (often inexperienced) technicians, rather than by a doctor. I then narrowed my search to highly regarded doctors in Turkey, given the country’s world-renowned reputation for affordable hair transplants. Dr Mehmet’s name often came up in recommended surgeon lists online, so, after trawling through many reviews and posts regarding his work, I reached out to Diamond Hair Clinic for more information. Communication One of the many stand out features of DHC is its exceptional communication, with Dr Mehmet’s assistant always on hand to provide responses to questions and give guidance and support. The clinic requested that I send the necessary photos. I was very impressed with how meticulous they were in soliciting the necessary photos/videos of my hair so they could fully assess my hair loss. This showed a reassuring diligence that suggested such professionalism would also be forthcoming throughout the rest of the process and indeed the procedure itself. Dr Mehmet personally assesses each of the patient’s submissions, so it can take some time to receive his report. I was very happy to wait, because I knew I would rather receive the best care than rush into a procedure with a doctor (or technician) I was not completely happy with. It’s important to remember too that the clinic is always on hand for questions if you have them while you are waiting. They are always extremely willing to address and concerns or reassure that the consultation report will come even if they have a backlog to clear. They don’t mind if you nudge them or follow up on it and are always very friendly and professional in their communication. I received a very detailed report from the clinic which provided the suggested number of grafts for my hairline and crown, alongside a great deal of other useful information about proceeding with the clinic (and, indeed, a hair transplant in general). After reading this report, I was ready and excited to proceed with the clinic, and felt confident in ending the fairly exhaustive research on who best to have my transplant with. I was also reassured and impressed with the fact that to secure your appointment, you simply need to book your flight and email the clinic proof of this. Many clinics in Turkey and elsewhere require you to pay a deposit to lock in your surgery. The fact that DHC operates with more of a trust-based system rather than taking your money at the outset I think speaks to the integrity and decency of the whole operation. In the intervening weeks between booking my appointment and my transplant, the communication from the clinic was extremely prompt and helpful. I had a few queries on points I wanted to clarify, and Dr Mehmet’s assistant would always be on hand to provide useful and reassuring responses. For instance, given I live in a country with strict customs checks, I requested a prescription for all the relevant medications given after the procedure for peace of mind coming back into the country. The clinic assured me Dr Mehmet would provide this, and he happily did exactly that before I left the clinic to return home. The clinic really is attentive to your specific needs and concerns, and works hard both to accommodate them and/or reassure you if you have any questions you want to ask. If you have any doubts or worries, I really would advise you speak with them as they are experts in the field with years of experience and they are genuinely helpful and patient in their responses. Arriving in Istanbul On the day of arrival, I was picked up from Istanbul airport as advertised in a luxury vehicle. It’s worth noting a small detail with the pick-up process so you know what to expect (at least from my experience) The driver coordinator will Whatsapp you before the flight with where you need to go outside the airport (and he will share a video showing you where to go). Follow the video to the pick-up point, and there will be someone there who has a list of names that you will be on. Once you give him your name, he will then escort you to your vehicle which is dedicated only for you with your driver. (TIP: if you don’t travel abroad too often and are wondering how to make sure you have internet data, I recommend getting an e-SIM for the location you are going to. I set one up with Airalo for Turkey and it only cost a few dollars, but it meant I had internet data wherever I went during my time there. They’re really cheap and easy to set up, just download the Airalo app on your phone and make sure your phone is e-SIM compatible). Once I was with my driver, I was really impressed with the comfort and luxury of the car, allowing me to relax and feel that inevitable mix of nerves and excitement as I was driven to my hotel. I arrived at the hotel at around 10am, and was surprised and impressed to discover that my room was already for me to check into. This was a welcome relief as I’d just had a night flight, so I was keen to have a nap and to recuperate. (TIP: you might find it useful to have a few euros/lira on hand to tip the hotel attendant who takes your bag to your room. It’s not essential but it’s nice to have the option to tip them if you’d like to). I wanted to take the opportunity to rest as much as I could before the procedure, knowing that sleep was going to be in short supply for the next few days, so I spent the day resting and using the hotel gym so that I felt refreshed and relaxed for the procedure the following day. TIP: I found it helpful to go over the road and buy some snacks and water from the shop. You can of course order room service at the hotel, but it was definitely helpful to have a fridge stocked with fruit and snacks and a few litres of bottled water on hand so that I could rest up in the hotel with everything I needed after the procedure. Hairline design On the day of the procedure, I felt more than anything relaxed and excited, largely due to how smooth and professional everything had been up to this point and comforted by the extensive research I had done to get to this point. I was also excited to know that I was doing everything I could do address a problem that has bothered me for near enough half my life, given my hair loss began when I was around 16. The clinic was extremely clean and high class, which I’ve read is often not the case with hair mills. Dr Mehmet greeted me and immediately put me at ease. He is an incredibly warm and kind person who is extremely dedicated to his work and passionate about what he does. He’s really everything you would want from a hair transplant surgeon, given what a technical and complex procedure it is and given the courage it takes patients to commit to one. Dr Mehmet spent about an hour speaking with me about my desired hairline. This was a really thorough, two-way discussion about the various things to take into consideration, as the doctor skilfully balanced what I had in mind with his professional advice and guidance. Dr Mehmet is a perfectionist and pre-eminent expert in hairline design. He also wants to ensure that his patient’s specific requests are accommodated, so I would advise communicating clearly with him what you have in mind and seeking his advice on what is realistic, achievable and advisable to get the best possible result. It is worth noting that many laypeople (myself included) can naturally gravitate to wanting a low, aggressive and straight hairline which often looks very unnatural. It took me a lot of research and speaking to the doctor to realise that natural looking hairlines have many irregularities (and, specifically, irregular irregularities, whereby there is no discernible pattern to the irregularities which makes it look like it was designed, rather than organically formed). Dr Mehmet also helpfully explained that (intuitively enough) the further down you have your hairline, the more grafts will be needed, and this will in turn reduce the density that is possible for the hairline. You may note as I did that Dr Mehmet quotes a higher number of grafts than some other clinics might for the work that you having done. This is because he uses the dense-pack grafting method to give as much density as possible to the hairline, the most visible part of the face. “We are essentially trying to create an illusion”, he said, noting that natural hairlines unimpacted by hair loss have many thousands more hairs than a transplanted hairline will. Research I have done online often shows transplant patients disappointed with their results because of a lack of density and/or because the hairline looks unnatural; this is exactly what Dr Mehmet tries to avoid with his expertise in natural hairline design and through the use of dense pack grafting. The procedure The procedure itself was altogether quite a lot less painful that I had expected, as I had read a lot of things online that the anaesthetic stage especially can be painful. The clinic uses a high-tech needleless dermajet pre-anaesthetic injector which gives some initial numbness to the scalp, before making the main anaesthetic injections. This significantly reduces the pain in the anaesthetic phase. For the hair extraction phase, the anaesthetic ensures the scalp is numb and the pain is minimized, however it is important that you communicate to the surgical team if you are feeling any pain when they extract the grafts as they can administer more anaesthetic as needed. Dr Mehmet explained this to me so I took this advice and let the team know on the couple of occasions where I was feeling some pain during the extraction. They duly administered more anaesthetic and this helped to minimize the pain throughout this phase. Dr Mehmet carries out the key incision phase himself, which is a major advantage of paying more to have a dedicated doctor carry out the most important part of the surgery. He shared some interesting insights about the sapphire FUE blade – namely how it allows for smaller canals to be created which allows for higher precision and minimizes recovery time. I was interested to learn too that the sapphire blade requires a different technique from the surgeon whereby they need to push more firmly to make the incisions (he noted that this was a reason that many surgeons haven’t adapted to using the sapphire blade because they are reluctant to learn a new technique for making the incisions, despite the blade’s numerous advantages.) He said also that for a hairline and crown surgery (such as mine) the surgeon would actually get through two sapphire blades over the course of the surgery. Finally, the implantation phase is carried out by Dr Mehmet’s technicians, but he is always on hand throughout the surgery checking everything is going smoothly. It is extremely reassuring to know he is there overseeing everything, and made me think how unpleasant it could end up being going to a hair mill and having little to no interaction with a doctor throughout the procedure, especially given how permanent the outcome of a hair transplant is. At the end of the procedure, the team give you a mirror to see your hairline for the first time. It’s a really exciting feeling to see what promises to be your new hairline after you’ve gone years (or possibly decades) without having one of any real description. I remember feeling a great sense of gratitude and excitement upon seeing mine, and a huge sense of appreciation to Dr Mehmet and his team for all their hard work throughout the day to make it possible. The sheer amount of concentration, intense focus and attention to detail that the three of them applied throughout the day is beyond impressive and left me feeling really in awe of and extremely grateful for their collective efforts. Recovery and after care I remember in reading in many of the reviews for Dr Mehmet that that his aftercare was second to none, and this has absolutely been my experience. After the surgery, the doctor talked me through all the different medications and shampoos I’ll need to use in the recovery (he explains this all again before you return to your home country two days after the surgery. He gave me the neck pillow to use which helps ensure that your head is protected. TIP – Be VERY careful putting the neck pillow on and taking it off. Even minimal contact with your head can dislodge grafts so make sure there is plenty of distance between your head and the pillow as you bring it over your head. Once back at the hotel, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the pain after the surgery wasn’t too bad at all. That said, I did find it difficult to sleep with the neck pillow. I think more important than sleep the first night (and even the second) is making sure you’re in an elevated position sitting up. I believe this helped me to minimize the swelling in my face after the surgery which was definitely an advantage. Once returning home, I followed up with Dr Mehmet each day (he shares his personal number with you after the surgery) with pictures as requested. He was prompt to respond and demands that you send clear, unobstructed pictures which accurately show how your scalp is recovering. Again, it is really reassuring and comforting to have the doctor’s input an on the pictures and to know your recovery is being carefully monitored. You feel like the support of the clinic is right there with you even once you’ve returned home and get a sense that they genuinely care about your wellbeing and the success of the transplant. I’ll make no bones, the first couple of weeks are pretty rough, mainly because you’re sleeping with a neck pillow until you’ve washed the scabs off, which obviously can make quality sleep pretty elusive. If your experience is anything like mine, you may also experience quite intense itching/pain in the donor area during the initial recovery, but that mostly subsides a couple of weeks after the surgery. In the scheme of things, it’s all a very small price to pay for what will hopefully prove to be a much fuller head of hair in the months and years to come! Moreover, the doctor is always on hand to answer any questions you may have, and his analysis of your daily photos will help you know that you’re on track and everything is proceeding as it should. I would say that all in my recovery was very seamless overall. Notwithstanding, the day I got my scabs off and was able to use an actual pillow for the first time was definitely a blissful moment! Conclusion I’m now in the waiting phase post-surgery to see the full results, but I am already really encouraged to have seen the new transplanted hairs after removing the scabs on the tenth day of washing. These hairs soon shed after this which is a totally normal part of the process, with full results taking between a year and 18 months to show. Despite this long wait, it’s a great sense of relief to have gotten the surgery done with. You can then get on with your life and know month by month you are getting closer to having the hair that likely seemed an impossible fantasy before embarking on this adventure! I can’t recommend Dr Mehmet and his team for the extraordinary service they provide. The hair restoration industry is full of misinformation and disinformation propagated by the hair mill cartel, whose marketing power greatly surpasses their concern for patients and the service that they offer. Dr Mehmet oozes integrity and class in every facet of his work and it was a privilege to my transplant carried out at his clinic. There are not many boutique, doctor-focused surgeries available in Turkey at affordable prices, so my advice would be to seize the opportunity to have it carried it out at Diamond Hair Clinic with both hands.”

“I recently visited diamond hair clinic about 2 weeks ago and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with the professionalism from the moment I arrived in Istanbul to the moment i left. After an extensive weeks of research into all possible hair transplant options, looking at cheaper hair mills and high end clinics, I decided to go with dr. Mehmet Demircioglu at diamond hair clinic and I messaged his clinic on WhatsApp. Originally I was looking at now hair time, but after examining their packages I started to question why they were including things like city tours. I’ve never heard of doctors doing this type of thing and after further research I learned that that clinic was a hair mill which pumps out many more than one patient a day to maximize profits rather than engaging in more a more patient centered approach which was the opposite of what I was looking for. I messaged them on July 4th and sent some pictures they asked for as well as answered a short list of questions regarding typical medical stuff as well as additional info about my hair loss. I did not hear back from the clinic until the 11th, when I had asked to follow up on appointment date. They told me at times the doctor can be busy and isn’t able to assess patients in time and that I should wait a little longer for a quote. After a few days passed and I didn’t hear back I decided to just move on and find another doctor in Turkey to work with. During this time I found what I thought was another reputable clinic in get new hair ran by Kayihan Sahinoglu. I messaged them that I was interested in a hair transplant, send them a few pictures of my head and they had my quote ready the next day and I had booked a flight and secured the hotel the following day. Sure enough a few days after that I was reached back out to by diamond hair clinic followed by a comprehensive list of my price quote of 6,100 euros, the number of grafts needed, how many days I would need to stay, where I would be staying (accommodated in the price quote already)tons of information and articles regarding the operating doctor, tons of pictures of other clients journeys in his care and I was stunned. So stunned, I immediately messaged the other clinic to cancel my appointment, called the hotel to cancel my reservation, and changed my flight to my new appointment which was about 2 months out from the quote date with dr. Demircioglu. When I arrived in Istanbul I was greeted at the airport by a driver who comfortably transported me to my hotel. In the morning of the surgery I had a delicious breakfast at the hotel and was picked up by my driver right after. It was about a 10 minute ride to the hair clinic and I was greeted by staff and within a few minutes I was sat down with dr. Mehmet in his office. It was very comforting to know I was going to be his only client for the day. We discussed the procedure, the after care, and any other questions I had regarding the operation. Once I was satisfied with the answers we then began to shave my head and draw my new hairline. Dr. Demircioglu was very engaging throughout the process constantly checking with and showing me what he was doing and asking if I was content with it. Then we began the procedure which lasted about 6-7 hours with a provided lunch break in between. Slight discomfort at first but once the anesthesia kicked in I could not feel any pain and went to sleep soon thereafter for at least a couple hours during the session. After the surgery I was given all of my meds, shampoos and a neck pillow, an extra neck pillow and was picked up by my driver who was already waiting for me outside to take back to my hotel. The next day and a half while staying in the hotel I did not experience much pain when the anesthesia wore off it was just much more of an uncomfortable process with trying to nap or sleep because of how I was instructed to keep the neck pillow on basically at all times and had to find a way to prop my head up with the neck pillow and the hotel pillows as to not allow anything to touch my head and to keep my head in an upright position. I was told I would be picked up in two days for the first wash process and once the that day came my driver picked me up on time and took me back to the clinic. Dr. Demircioglu was waiting for me outside and escorted me in, took off my bandages, inspected my head, and we began the wash process. He then carefully explained to me more in depth about my at home care process and gave me his personal number to reach him at any time with questions (which I did). I had a response from him usually within 1 to 5 hours which was surprising to me at times because of the 7 hour time difference between Turkey and the east coast of America. I spent about the next week pretty much exclusively at home and I’m fortunate enough to have a movable bed so I found sleeping much easier at home but for a few days the itchiness got really bad to the point where I messages the doctor to ask if it was normal and he messaged back within about 5 minutes that it was part of the healing process and even included a video about how they inject the anesthetic into certain areas and it was those same areas that I was most itchy so I knew nothing was out of the ordinary. It was also pleasing to see that even though I had already paid for the surgery almost 2 weeks ago and was not even in the same country anymore, I was still being treated as though I was siting in the examination room with him. I could not recommend this clinic and dr. Demircioglus professionalism and hands on care any more and highly encourage anyone looking into hair transplants to look no further because this is the only place you should be considering.”

I just completed the procedure approximately two weeks ago and everything about it was amazing right from his assistant who took over and literally arranged everything for me and made it such a seamless and Thourough assessment and treatment plan, right to the minute I arrived in Istanbul and was picked up by his driver and brought to my hotel. “My hairline has been rapidly disappearing for the last 5 years. I was bald. I was losing my identity. I have, for many years, always had an eye on the various celebrities who had successful HTs. However, the costs in UK were just too high for me and not a viable option. In early May 2024 a friend suggested that I check out the HT options in Turkey. I thought that he was joking at first but when I did a google search I soon realised that Turkey was the HT capital of the world. Various HT clinics came up during my online search – lots of them. I got in touch with 8 clinics to see what they could do for me. Many came back with quick quotes within an hour with costs of anything between £1000 to £3,500. A couple said that it not worth doing and that I would be wasting my time. Others provided “guarantees” of transplanted grafts between 2000 to 7500. Some even suggested that they would pay for my flights and do my teeth at the same time as the HT. I was confused by all the mixed responses. Further online research of HT clinics in Turkey identified that most of those that I had reached out to meet the definition of a “hair mill” i.e. lots of patients each day and with little, if any, involvement of a real surgeon. This concerned me. Going to a foreign country with the possibility of having a HT being done by unknown people was not very appealing. What would I do if I travelled all the way to a clinic in Turkey and went into the operating room to find that the technicians were all young students and even worse, monkeys? Any business can have a good website with good customer reviews these days. It felt like Russian roulette. It put me off. My deeper research of HT clinics brought me to members of the World FUE Institute. From there I came across Dr Mehmet Demircioglu of the Diamond Hair Clinic. I got in touch with this clinic for a quote. The information that I had back from this clinic was more comprehensive compared to the others. It was personalised. Mehmet Demircioglu’s assessment was that I was eligible for sapphire FUE HT: 4000 grafts to cover my front and mid area. It was not possible to cover the crown area, but I was advised that this may be possible during a second session after a year. The cost included: the surgery, all transfers, 3 nights in a hotel, all medication, a hair care kit and a first wash. I just had to turn up in Istanbul. What made Mehmet Demircioglu different from other clinics that I had engaged with was his “one patient daily” policy. He would be actively involved in the surgery and design the hairline etc. I liked his customer centric approach. It was certainly not the hair mill approach like the others. After a couple of weeks considering my options, and completing my due diligence checks on Diamond Hair Clinic, I decided at the end of My 2024 to book my HT with them. It is true that Mehmet Demircioglu was more expensive than the other clinics that I had quotes from, but I decided that I wanted the certainty of professionalism to ensure that my HT had the greatest chance of being a success. In the morning of 31 August 2024 I arrived at Istanbul airport. A luxury transfer vehicle was waiting for me which took me to the hotel (Tryp by Wyndham Istanbul Topapi Hotel). A lovely modern hotel with great food. I did some tourist sightseeing during the day. There is a tram stop ten minutes away from the hotel called Seyitnizam-Aksemsettin. This tram, which is very cheap, will take you to heart of Istanbul where all the main tourist attractions and shops (e.g. Grand Bazaar) are. If there is only tourism thing that you have time for then I would recommend an evening visit to the Basilica Cistern. It was magnificent under the coloured lights. Early the next morning the transfer vehicle picked me up from the hotel and took me to the clinic. I surprisingly felt very calm. I trusted myself that I had made the right decision. Mehmet Demircioglu met me at the reception. This was a friendly and personalised touch. He spoke excellent English. He then took me to his office to discuss the schedule for the day, and the hairline that I wanted. I recognised, even before the visit, the reality that my hair line options were very limited due to the sheer size of my baldness area. I explained my thoughts and he came up with a suggestion which I was happy with. I remember feeling relaxed. I felt I was in safe hands. Nothing was rushed at all. I met his two other friendly technicians in his surgery team. They could speak little English, but this was not an issue for me since Mehmet Demircioglu was always around. In the surgery room they shaved off my hair (what little I had). Mehmet Demircioglu drew a draft hair line and showed me a mirror. I was happy with the draft, and I gave the go ahead. Lots of pictures were taken at this point which he later forwarded to me. This was a great idea as I can now compare myself before and after the HT. The HT started with a local anaesthesia being applied to my donor area. This hurt. Big time. 8/10 pain. The injections seemed to go on forever, but it was probably only 20 minutes or so. I was expecting some pain from these injections, but this was much worse than I expected. Everyone is different though. Perhaps I have a sensitive scalp. I took the pain like a man; I knew that this pain was only going to be momentary. Everything that you want in life is often on the other side of pain. After these injections, I felt nothing for the entire HT. The technician then proceeded with the donor graft extraction. This took a couple of hours or so. I felt completely relaxed throughout. At lunch time I had a 20-to-30-minute break. A margherita pizza and a can of Iced Tea were provided. It was delicious. I took this time to inform my wife that I was still alive. She does worry. The afternoon session started with the incisions. This was completed by Mehmet Demircioglu. I understood from my research that this was the most critical part of the surgery which will make a huge difference as to whether the HT is successful or not. This took around 2 to 2 2 ½ hours I think. I was so relaxed that I fell asleep. I again felt nothing. After a break to stretch my legs, there was the final part of the procedure which involved the implantation of my grafts. This was perhaps the longest session of all but again I drifted in and out of sleep. This stage was performed by one of his technicians. Mehmet Demircioglu always seemed to be around. I even remember having an amusing conversation with him during this final procedure about his love of spear fishing and his need for a bigger boat. This did show a human element beyond a surgeon’s mask. In all, my recollection of the operation is one of relaxation. If there had been Tibetan bowl music playing in the surgery room then it would probably have been close to a spa experience (but only if they could get rid of the local anaesthesia injections first though!). I was delighted when I saw myself in the mirror after the operation. They did a great job in giving me a natural looking hairline. My identity was back. I had a total of 4200 grafts. After the HT, Mehmet Demircioglu explained the various medications that I would need to take. I personally would have preferred paper instructions at this point since it felt like a lot of information to take on board after a day in surgery. However, Mehmet Demircioglu did then give me his personal telephone number if I had any questions. This was tested the next day when I had an accident in the hotel room when I knocked my head on a shelf next to the desk. My hairline was bleeding which I knew could potentially mean some lost grafts. Mehmet Demircioglu immediately responded to my message after viewing my picture with some re-assuring words. Please do be careful in your hotel room - stay in bed! Looking back, the whole HT experience with Mehmet Demircioglu was stress free. Everything was organised and taken care of. Communications were great before the HT, during and after. Mehmet Demircioglu does put his customers’ wellbeing at the centre of everything. He continues to be available for help and support when it is required, and I have been sending him daily picture updates until the final wash. Mehmet Demircioglu then requires monthly picture updates, but I know that I can contact him any time should I have questions or issues. It is early days in my hair growth journey at the time of this review, but I am happy with my choices. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mehmet Demircioglu to you. Mehmet Demircioglu told me a story of an American customer who believed that people think that you are a loser in life if you have a HT. I disagree. You are in fact winner. Those people who moan about being bald, and do nothing about it, are the real losers. Everything you want in life is on the other side of fear. Don’t delay. There are great HT surgeons out there to help you. Book yourself an appointment with Mehmet Demircioglu and have a different life story.”

“I am never the type of guy to post reviews, but as Dr. Mehmet Demircioglu explained their importance I understood how crucial they may be for people looking to get this procedure done, stop the misinformation, and prevent people against hair mills. I began looking to get a hair transplant this summer, around July-August, I knew I wanted a surgeon to do my procedure, not some random technician. So after some research, I found Diamond Hair Clinic and messaged them to get an online consultation done. I am not going to lie, I also message the famous Clinics with millions of Instagram followers, but they all seem to be the same, they don't ask questions, just send you an image with their packages and that's it (by the way, you won't save that money much compared to going to a surgeon, in this case, Dr. Mehmet Demircioglu). From the beginning of the consultation, I felt this was a proper one. They asked a lot of questions, which, being a medical practitioner myself, I fully understood since it's crucial to make a big and good anamnesis, especially for a procedure like a hair transplant. They sent me a resolution letter with my hair transplant solution within 2 weeks, I read it thoughtfully and without hesitation, I booked my flights (which is mandatory to book your surgery). I never felt nervous honestly, so the month went by quickly, and without me realizing it I found myself landing in Turkey and waiting for my driver to pick me up to take me to my hotel (they book it for you, both the hotel and the transportation). The next day was the surgery day, I was pretty calm myself, but if you are a nervous person, the Doctor will calm you real quick, he is just a calm, chill, down-to-earth professional, and most importantly, honest and open. You will spend a good hour discussing with him your hairline, and habits, as well as talking a bit about the hair transplant business, which I found super interesting. After that you pay and you go to the surgery room, where he will draw your hairline and ask you for feedback constantly, always giving his professional opinion. Once you are happy with it, the surgery will then start. 2 Nurses will apply anesthesia in the donor area (it's a bit painful, not going to lie), and then they proceed to extract all the follicles. This took 2 hours and a half, then you have a lunch break, and after you are done, stage 2 starts. They apply anesthesia again on the recipient area and the Doctor starts doing the incisions one by one. This was by far the best part of the surgery since you can have a really good chat with the doctor and just chill with him while he does his job. After Stage 2, the nurses come back to put all the follicles in for another good 2 hours. It's a long day, the surgery lasts like 8 hours but it flies by quickly. When the surgery is done you have a chat with the doctor and he will tell you how you must take care of the hair in the following weeks. Then they take you to the hotel for you to rest. You have to sleep the first night at 90º so consider that you won't sleep at all. Once you wake up you will spend all day at the hotel, this was so boring for me even though I took my laptop with me to get work in. The next day they take you back for the first washing day. You will have another chat with the doctor, he will repeat everything he told you at the end of the surgery the first day so you understand everything correctly, nevertheless, he gives you his personal phone number so you can contact him to ask ANY questions. If you are hesitating to get it done, I wouldn't. Dr. Mehmet Demircioglu will make you regret having doubted and worried so much about getting the surgery done. I'd like to thank him, the nurses, and the drivers for the good treat I received. Now it's only a matter of months to go by for me to see my results, which I know will be amazing. “I received a hair transplant with Dr Mehmet Demircioglu at Diamond Hair Clinic in July 2024. It has been an absolutely fantastic experience. There is nothing I can say negative about him or the practice. All accommodation and travel to and from the hotel, clinic and airport is covered with your cost, making it as smooth and minimally stressful as possible. Diamond asks that you pay in cash, on the day, with no pre-deposit. Only that you show your flight confirmation once you’ve booked your flights. I paid €5,500 not including flights. I booked my surgery for June 3, 2024, securing the date by booking my flight tickets on April 20, 2024, and sending a screenshot of the tickets to the clinic. Shortly afterward, I discovered that the cost for new patients had increased to €6,000. Fortunately, my fee remained at 5,500 Euros, the rate available when I booked. I wanted a hair transplant for a long time (10+ years) and have done extensive research into different hair transplant clinics in Turkey. There was no way I was going to pay £1000 and risk an inexperienced technician in a hair mill, botch my hair transplant, regretting it for the rest of my life. When you arrive at the airport, you are escorted to a meeting point and wait for your driver who takes you to the hotel to check in (Hotel is called Tryp by Wyndham Topkapi). The hotel is pretty standard, but the staff are super friendly and you see a tonne of other guys with hair transplants walking around too so you don’t feel alone. This is your last night of looking “normal” for a while so I decided to go out to the hotels restaurant, which is a short free shuttle bus drive away. I had fish dinner by the river at sunset and went back to my room. The next day breakfast at the hotel, and then a car will take you to Diamond in the morning for the procedure. Dr. Mehmet welcomed me with a friendly smile and warm handshake. I was very anxious but he instantly recognised this, and made me feel so much more at ease within minutes. We discussed my hair loss, my expectations, hairline design, and all the formalities, including payment. He showed me photos of his other patients too. We tried different options for about an hour and a half until we had both agreed a surgery plan we were happy with. Dr. Mehmet was very knowledgeable but also very direct and honest with facts, and what was feasible and what was not. He made it all seem much less intimidating. He then takes a bunch of photos, before he draws your new hairline. And you can look in the mirrors as long as you like until you’re happy. And he will redraw it as much as you need. Then, two technicians shave your head. I had never rocked a shaved head before so this was startling for me. Lying face down, the procedure begins with a sharp panging device hitting your scalp which is unpleasant but not overly painful. This is the non invasive numbing device, a standard before anything is injected for Diamond. Often other clinics will try charging extra for this. I’m not sure it did much however, because next, the injection of the anaesthetic into the scalp which was very painful for me (but I am known to be a bit of a wimp!). I was yelling out and clenching my fists as the needle went in many times. But the technicians asked me to take a deep breaths, they were smooth, professional and quick, checking regularly with me that I was happy to continue. After ten minutes of pain, the anesthetic worked and you feel nothing for the rest of the procedure. 10 minutes of pain seems a small price to pay! Except the sound of needles going into your scalp which is unpleasant but not painful. You can feel things moving on your scalp but it doesn’t feel like you’re being touched. Overall the procedure felt unpleasant, but not painful. Some patients apparently sleep but I could not. The first stage, extraction (2 hours approx), is done by the technicians. Removing the hairs from your donor area. The second stage and most important is the incisions, done by Dr Mehmet (2 hours approx). We chatted a bit as I lay on my back with my eyes covered from the bright surgery lights. Dr. Mehmet was very funny and making me laugh so it was a much less scary experience. The final stage, implantation, is done by the technicians (3 hours approx). Placing the harvested hairs into Dr. Mehmet’s intricately positioned incisions. You break for lunch after stage 1, and can ask for a break to use the bathroom or stretch as many times as you like. Dr. Mehmet only sees one patient a day, and maximum 10 a month. So you have his entire focus throughout which was a HUGE plus for me. I had heard multiple stories of patients being rushed out as another one is through the door. He also gives you his personal phone number for any questions during recovery which has been invaluable. He told me there is no such thing as a stupid question! Some patients he is still in contact with 6 years later for advice on buying supplements and shampoos etc. I am quite a nervous and anxious person, but time after time, Dr. Mehmet has listened to me and reassured me. He’s a friendly, charismatic and brilliant professional, who made the whole experience as positive as possible. After you’re finished, I felt quite shocked and dizzy. But the technicians guide you to sit upright and you take it slow. Your donor area is dressed in a bandage. Dr. Mehmet then sits with you and goes over the debrief as well as a thorough aftercare plan (I would advise making as many notes as possible on your phone as there is lots to remember). You will be taking several tablets for the next couple of weeks. Although Dr. Mehmet is available on WhatsApp to ask directly. I finished the day at about 5:30pm. After that it’s back to the hotel for the evening, and you spend the following day in the hotel room resting. I managed about 4 hours of broken sleep and some short naps. Just sleep when you can and when it feels natural. You can order any food you like to from the menu to your room, but I would advise getting some snacks for your mini fridge the day before. The food was not great, but I didn’t care at that point! I had been dreading the flight home ever since saving for a hair transplant, and being in public at the airport. But honestly once the shock of being shaved, and the rest day (which you spend a good chunk of looking at yourself in the mirror to normalise your new appearance). It didn’t feel so anxiety-inducing. I put my headphones in, played my switch, and no one bothered me. I’m sure plenty of people looked at me but I didn’t notice. I saw many other men in Istanbul airport looking the same as me. Nobody cares, they have their own lives. Also, the day after the rest day, all the pain had subsided so that helped too. Overall, I underestimated how unpleasant the transplant would feel. But I am so grateful I chose Diamond and Dr. Mehmet and his team to guide me through the process. Because of their patience, kindness and professionalism. They made it so much better. My advice would be, BE PREPARED! It’s a big surgical procedure and quite shocking visually what you go through in a short space of time. It’s also an emotional rollercoaster. And secondly, ideally TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU. Many of the guys I saw with transplant bandages were with partners or a buddy. I wish I had someone there with me it would have made the process easier. I have completed my first milestone, the “10-day wash” where you remove the crusts and scabs so can kind of see for the first time, what your new hairline looks like. I’m thrilled with what I am seeing so far. The hairline is full of “irregular irregularities”, not a perfect straight line or a perfect zigzag. NO NATURAL HAIRLINE is straight perfectly or zigzagged. It looks very good so far, I can’t wait to see what it looks like after shock loss and some real growth comes through. In an off-the-record suggestion, my dermatologist, who’s seen me through this hair loss journey, mentioned that a decent hair transplant in Canada could cost over $20,000, and some people fly to Turkey or Thailand for affordable options. Indeed, a hair transplant abroad seemed out of the question initially, but that changed when I got a quote of $25,000 from the Hasson & Wong clinic in Canada. It was frankly unaffordable, so I started looking at clinic options in Turkey and Thailand. Folks on hair transplant forums and Reddit strongly recommended Dr. Laorwong in Thailand, but his schedule was full for the next 8-9 months. The biggest game changer for me was the Diamond Hair Clinic's one operation a day rule, which seemed very patient-friendly and boosted my confidence in the clinic. The most significant factor in choosing the clinic was Dr. Demircioglu’s involvement in the surgery, especially in making incisions. I didn’t want a doctor who was merely supervising but one who was performing the surgery himself. Everything has been seamless since I set foot in Istanbul. A driver met me at the airport and brought me to a comfortable hotel close to the clinic. The night before the surgery, my nerves were at their worst. I could not sleep. Nervous as I was, meeting Dr. Demircioglu on the surgery day morning calmed me down. Everything was so professional in the operation room, and all the processes were explained by the doctor patiently while a hairline was being designed to suit my face. The clinic is clean and modern. The operation lasted about eight hours, and during this time, after the local anesthesia, which was a little bit painful at first, I did not feel any significant pain. They extracted and implanted 4650 hair grafts. It was very comforting and encouraging to see Dr. Demircioglu himself on the scene during the procedure in the surgery room. I was checked on often, and I even had a lunch break, which made the day less exhausting. After the surgery, they gave me the necessary instructions and a recovery kit. Ten months later, I am very happy with the progress. As for communication, I received great WhatsApp support from the doctor’s assistant, Mahmod, before the surgery. And even afterward, I was in direct WhatsApp contact with Dr. Demircioglu himself. I still send my headshots to the doctor monthly and get his assessments about my progress. I waited ten months to write this review because wanted to observe the results and ensure they were lasting. Reviews left immediately after surgery can be misleading since they don’t reflect the final outcome. The growth so far is very promising, and my new hairline looks natural, boosting my confidence. Concerning the cost, I paid $6,000 for the surgery package including hotel stay, transfers, surgery, post-surgery recovery kit, and $1,750 for flights, so in total, it cost almost $8,000.”

“I spoke to several transplant clinics in Canada and then Turkey. Dr Demircioglu and support professionals were responsive, informative and clearly took the time to review my pictures. Other clinics were cheaper, more aggressive to obtain my business and promised a greater graft count. Dr Demircioglu stuck to his price and assessment due to a poor donor area. Being a health care professional I know the cheapest price is not usually the best value. The quality of care, precision of surgery and seamless logistical support were second to none. I am 5 days post op and can not give you a final result on the success of surgery but it looks great so far.”

“Dr Mehmet and his team were fantastic for someone who was nervous to travel from Sydney to Istanbul for a complex procedure. It starts with great communication and honest advice. When you arrive everything is taken care for you. Meeting Dr Mehmet and his team you feel very comfortable as his english is good and the clinic looks amazing. The procedure is not simple and I'm really glad that throughout the 9 hour procedure i had a doctor who could help me and walk me through it. “5000 grafts for hairline+crown, $4500 Euros Selection process: I spent a few weeks messaging different hair clinics to learn more about hair transplants and whether I actually wanted to do one. Upon further research, I established criteria of choosing a clinic where the surgeon is involved in the procedure and they see only a few patients overall. Diamond Hair Clinic (DHC) met both these criteria and you can get a sense of how clinics operate from your conversations over WhatsApp. Some clinics were very quick to provide me with a quote without really taking in much personal information, whereas I found my interactions with DHC more professional and thorough. I also felt like there was less of language barrier dealing with DHC than other clinics. I felt more confident in going with them for all these reasons. Pickup + Booking All of this was handled by DHC and they made the process very simple for me. I was pleasantly surprised to be picked up by a nice limo at the airport and all my transportation was taken care of. Surgery I felt very comfortable with Dr. Mehmet and we spent a lot of time discussing my goals while designing the hairline. The surgery was long and painful (as expected) but not unreasonably painful...I mean surgery isn't supposed to be fun. I felt like I was in good hands the whole time. Dr Mehmet is fluent in English and this helped my comfort levels, and he is patient with answering questions. Post-surgery I would actually argue that the post-surgery experience is the most nerve-wracking of all. The first 3 days you need to sleep upright and protect your head with your life. The anxiety gets slightly better by the day as your grafts become more secure but the whole first 10 days is tough. I would send pictures daily to Dr. Mehmet and he would give his feedback. He is very responsive, thorough, and patient with his responses. This helped calm my nerves significantly through this period. Getting rid of your scabs is a big day and you feel a lot more free because the grafts are firmly secured at this point. I am 6.5 months out from the surgery and very happy with results so far.”
