"Called eBay requesting company status or LTD company or plc. They refused to tell me. I explained it\u2019s for small claims court proceedings. I recorded the call for my protection. They refused on call to give info. Escalated to ombudsman. This costs them 750. If you have a complaint refer to the ombudsman. It\u2019ll cost them 750. Make them pay for a change!!"

"I can't say something bad about the ebay because back in the day it was a pioneer marketplace for e-commerce business. Many people in the beginning of 00's started their business from the ebay reselling different stuff, exchanging products or just bargaining with people. I'm thankful to them that I was one of those who started business on this platform, cuz it has taught me many valuable lessons."

"I have been with eBay for over 10 years as a top seller. Unfortunately, eBay seems to favor scammers who purchase two items and then return empty boxes to get them for free. We did our best to notify customers about the need to return products, but we were penalized for our honesty. eBay is disappointing."

"EBay is absolute rubbish to use as a seller of used designer handbags the joke is I buy them from eBay sites! in bad condition and restore with them ,I do not add to them I do not change their design I just fix them, condition them, recolour any fading, repair cracks etc. As soon as I put it back up on eBay they tell me it is a counterfeit or fake! if I call Customer Service they have no idea how to help or what I'm talking about or why it's been removed sometimes the computer automatically does it sometimes it's an eBay so-called expert looking at photos.. The customer service teams give different advice often contradicting each other and when I point out if you read the counterfeit policy and that these these bags do not fit into that problem area they have no answer... The second joke is there are so many obviously fake and counterfeit bags on their listings that they leave up... even when they have been reported and the points that make them obviously a counterfeit bag pointed out.... I have spoken to many other people in the used resale of designer Bags Arena who have reported exactly the same problems with eBay.... but apparently they refuse to update or educate their staff and systems"

"There are sellers selling counterfeit coins.Especialy be aware of buying gold coins because almost 90% of all gold coins are fake ,goldplated brass replicas.Many coins are in fake NGC or PCGS holders! After I contacted eBay and show them evidence they answered that selling counterfeit coins is not in violation of eBay policy!\r\nAvoid this marketplace if possible!"

"If you have used Guest Checkout, there is no way to contact seller when there is a problem. The page refreshes and INSISTS that you start an account, just to respond to the seller or attempt to get help!! If I wanted an account, I would have started one! Ebay should not have a \"guest check\" out option if the customer needs an account in order to get service!! You are completely at the mercy of the whims of the seller. They keep your money and decide whether or not you will ever get your item. If you go through \"automated assistance,\" it is no assistance at all, no contact with a live person. I now have to wait until the 19th of March for my item (which I paid for on Feb 25th!!) It is hung up in transit, most likely lost or never even sent, and I cannot contact the seller (or Ebay!) to request a refund! Please do not use Ebay, you will be sorry!"

“eBay is a crook they close my 15-year plus seller account because I got hacked I opened a new account per them through them by them to continue selling my first sale they've held my money for over a week and a half now saying I'm a new seller what kind of idiots is this. People sell their items cuz they need money you have no right to hang on to my money it has been proven the item was delivered it is proven by the positive feedback that the guy is happy and it's been over a week and a half since it was paid for and delivered 4 days later. All confirmed by tracking and the customer by leaving positive feedback so what is wrong eBay give me my money”

“I have been with EBay since it started, a very long time ago! The search function is near useless and even when you specify to only look in one country/location it will always default to China. To top it off, even when you find an item supposedly located in the county/location of choice, by looking at the location of the company, i.e. where it will be shipped from, it is still China. Next, the tracking system is run by a 3 year old. Only on one item out of 10 does it actually work. Most sellers just put random numbers or a non-trackable label number in the system. I have 7 items on purchase at this time. 4 are with UK Royal Mail, 2 are with Yodel and the last with something I knew was coming from China and has their tracking. All of the Royal Mail items have no updates, even up the the da of their arrival and when you take the shipping/tracking number to the Royal Mail tracking site, it will tell you that this item can't be updated until it is delivered. That is not package tracking! For Yodel, they show it is enroute to the carrier, which it will show until is delivered. This is not tracking either. Sadly the only one that is acting as a tracking number is the one on the slow boat from China. Sadly EBay has the world by the short hairs and they know it. They don't care and have sold out to the Country that sells the most products. i don't know if the company has been quietly bought out by the Chinese but they sure run the show now.”

“I am so disgusted with ebay that I have started the account closure procedure. Absolutely crazy to keep selling on such a site. The commissions are very high and as a seller you have no protection. I leave aside all the cases of people who tried to scam me with the excuse of the object not received (when the tracking shows the opposite) or object not according to description. Scammers are everywhere: what is not acceptable is that ebay takes zero actions against scam attempts or verbal assaults, despite lots of evidence are provided. The straw that broke the camel's back was the case of an American, who bought a football shirt from me, and already the day after the shipment, started to send an avalanche of messages about the status of the shipment, becoming message after message violent and intimidating. At some point I stopped responding and in response I received negative feedback (with insane language even there) basically 2 days after I sold the item. I reported the customer to ebay and asked them to remove the negative feedback and take action against this user. They did nothing. I saw on the page of this person (who is also a seller) two negative feedbacks within a week (one also complained about the aggressive / intimidating tone of the user). So this is repetitive, not a single episode. Ebay will definitely do something I thought. Result? After a week the person in question no longer had negative feedback and was with 100% positive feedback. Ridiculous... Ebay has no standards, as long as you pay your commissions you can be the worst scammer, you won't suffer any consequences. I am attaching photos with some nice free offenses and threats received and for which ebay has not done (and will not do) anything”

“ebay stole from me. i sold a computer screen. 3 days after paying customer opened a case that he did not receive. ebay suspended me 1 day later and then customer received 1 day later. ebay are thieves and customer service just say bye to me.”

“The eBay money back guarantee is junk. What it’s supposed to do and how I used it: It’s supposed to instill a level of trust so that you can quickly make a purchase for something that you would otherwise spend more time thinking about or may not purchase at all. You think, there’s some slight risk, but eBay has my back. What actually happens: I bought a pair of New Air Jordans. There was no defect noted in the description, but pics were limited. So I bought. The sneakers passed the authenticity check, but when I got them there was a big black blemish on them and the texture was also worn down. I notified eBay right away, followed their process, and sent them detailed photos. They basically told me that I’m stuck with them and they won’t do anything because from their perspective they passed authenticity check and the seller has no returns marked. Two problems here .. 1) there is no sense of quality check with the authenticity check and 2) even though their policy says the money back guarantee has you covered for sellers that don’t accept returns, they will not honor it. Shop with caution. You may get swindled .. by a seller and by eBay.”

“I ordered a pair of supposedly leather pants. The seller said they were in the US, they were in China. I ordered them and they are cheap plastic. The seller said they would accept my return but I had to pay for the shipping. It is eBay policy the seller pays for the shopping if the item is damaged or FAKE. EBay will not back me on this and there is no one to speak to in customer service now. Everything is done electronically. I need help.! EBay is now not a good place to shop. You can not get any help. I contacted them through their site and it was no help.”

“My account was permanently suspended without notice or reason. Ebay automated chat system couldn’t find anything wrong. All my transactions as a buyer were complete and paid in full. Ebay refused to provide live customer service via phone or email. One the most inefficient and bizarre business I’ve ever encountered. The weirdest part is that EBay keeps sending advertisements to my personal email box encouraging. Lame and shady business”

“I have an eBay account (not sure if I have ever bought on here to be honest, and went to sell and item. After thinking I have followed every step to list the item it has instead permanently blocked my account. Not ideal for me trying to sell something :( there was no reason left and it also means I cannot delete my information from their record as I can’t log in to close the account so I’m struggling to make a new one to sell my item on. They also refuse to discuss, explain and accept an appeal around this.”

“I ordered a product two and a half months ago. It didn't show up on the date it was supposed to so I waited a few more days before contacting ebay (it says it shipped the day after I placed the order) once I heard from ebay they told me to wait a week from the day I sent an email so they could "contact the seller". Well it's been 10 days since and still nothing. I went to look at the user their name is ShopUp do NOT use and I can't find their profile to leave a review. On top of that, I got a notification saying that the item was either removed or not in stock soooooo....where ya at ebay? Give me my money back.”

“Ebay has become a scam on every level for both buyers and sellers! They have been holding my money along with others whi are locked into their little Managed Payments scheme! We have posted you tube videos of our attempts to get answers as to why when we complied with all their hoops they make you jump through why they still refuse to give our payouts after a month of holding our money! They also illegally tax customers and take some of the tax money for themselves! Ebay needs to be stopped and shut down for good! Horrible company and just an atrocious place to deal with! “Order 27-07064-35952. Item 192916794072 Seller padamnabh I placed this order on May 14. It was supposed to arrive between June 3-17. I never received it. I cannot contact either eBay or the seller. The eBay website says the order number cannot be found. It says the item number cannot be found. When I look at my orders it says I have NO ORDERS. I have tried numerous times by website and telephone. What a rip-off. I will NEVER use this eBay scam again. They got me this time but won’t have another change to cheat me.”

“Ebay = BUYER STAY AWAY Ebay is getting worse in time, I'm a member since 2003 at the beginning Ebay protected the buyer from fraudulent transactions so I felt confident in my purchasing on their site, NOW it's the worse online site. 3 years ago I got scammed for $78 for Epson printer THAT NEVER ARRIVED and they just give me the run around in witch I end up in loosing the money so I closed my account and went to Amazon.com, last year went back to Ebay and ordered a few thins all went fine until they failed to change my shipping address and about to lose another item due to their lack of management, my primary address was correct but apparently it doesn't mean that the shipping address will change automatically and they don't alert you to that fact. Now the seller are in control and ebay will not protect you or give you a refund no matter how small the amount or hard and long you fight for it. FOL ME ONCE SHAME ON YOU FOL ME TWICE SHAME ON ME,,, NEVER AGAIN. EBAY SUCK,, NO STAR IF I COULD WILL GIVE THEM -5 STARS.”

“Advertisements are beautiful but never recieved anything that even resembles the pictures they advertise. Not all products and sellers are bad. Just please do research before you buy. Very cheap products from some eBay sellers but use high quality pictures to sell. It's very deceiving...that saying one bad apple ruins the bunch. This is true for eBay. I'm going to leave pictures for you to compare. The chair I received is made with fleece material you buy in the dollar store.”

“I tried to purchase a pair of rear shocks with a ebay gift card on may 28 the shocks was suppose to be delivered by june 4 i never got the iteams the seller contacted me and said he apology i said ok he then said i can have the shocks to me within 7 extra days i said no i found some at auto zone he said fine here it is june 14 and by me using a ebay gift card i didn't have to go through paypal but ebay keeps converting me to paypal and to make matters worse i loaded $200 the shocks was $89 with ebay transaction fee it came up to $116.74 so i went on to ebay gift card balance all of my money is gone no refund just took my whole $200 dollar”

“Recently had an experience with an order with eBay which I want to share so buyers aware of before scammed.purchased the item on 4/21/21 expected delivery date was 4/27/21, emailed the seller on 4/29/21 as did not receive the item, no response .I opened a case on May 3rd. My case was closed stating item was delivered on May 3rd.they do not want to give me proof of delivery. Ebay is telling me to work with the seller, I sent 2 email no response.they also telling me to check seller review before purchasing an item, like eBay is the only place where I can shop. they provided a tracking after the item was delivered? Not sure how that even possible. Also Item supposed to be shipped from California, instead shows it was picked picked up from Oregon? From Oregon to my local post office? No other transit? Nothing made scene but eBay stated the item was delivered to a valid us address,I do not know what is that even mean. Learned my lesson with $30, could been lot worst, there was time when I spent a lot more. but time to take a break, time to think twice before purchasing. There are lot of other sources of purchase. Buyer please be careful. I was scammed, the listing/shipping/ tracking all fake.which most of their sellers/stuffs are. Also will recommend buyers work with your bank if eBay does not want to assist.”

“I won an auction for a play station 5 for my son for Christmas and tried to pay for it with two different credit cards and both were rejected. I was advised by an ebay representative to go to the store and get several $200 ebay cards and make the purchase. When i entered th ebay cards the balance remained the same on the payment for the PS5 but my ebay cards balance was now 0. So they had accepted the ebay cards and not applied the money to the auction i won for the PS5. Ebay literally screwed me out of $800 and refused to refund me or send me the PS5. I called my card companies and both told me that ebay never attempted to make a charge to either one. Ebay literally, intentionally screwed a me out of $800 worth of ebay cards and never even attempted to resolve the situation.”

“One his seller sold me item for work and I got took work and tech try work with it never work he told me to return text them back told him to return he never responded back so continue with return he said no. So I told eBay and they said no too. It was not a good item I am so upset because single mom I need radio buy this doesn’t work it cost me 75.00 so wrong. I want put bad review eBay for not back you up and protect you people like that. I ask seller does this for Walmart he said yes, but didn’t not work.”

“Ebay provide customers the worst service. I bought an item from a seller who doesn't accept returns. The contents inside the mailing box arrived damaged. They blame the post office when the mailing box is intact ( no damage ) but the buying item is defective There's no way to contact an ebay representative, only by messages online, not either by phone So there's no way to explain exactly what the problem is. Ebay STINKS !”

“More of a moan than major issue. Ordered an item which arrived next day! Amazing service but the packaging arrived all but destroyed and taped up. This is most likely down to the carrier(royal mail delivered it) as wiper blades are usually kept safe incase of damage! EBay does not give enough characters to explain things, nor do they allow images as proof. When leaving feedback there should be a "condition" to fill in as this would help sellers chose a decent carrier. Nobody wants to leave poor feedback as it might not be the sellers fault but an ability to score packaging etc seems vital.”

“As a seller l had 100% feedback making good sales, I had advertisement professionally made which l paid for. All the hard work was paying off. Ebay even increased my seller limits to 100K. Then one day l logged in without any explanation they deleted all my advertisements and stated my account was restricted. I pay all my eBay Fees on time, l also paid Ebay advertising fees. They advised me if l would like my account back l provide receipts and details of where l get my products from as well as my ID etc. l sent the requested documentation. Now because l had lots of sales my invoice was not due but because they had limited my account l had to pay right away. I contacted eBay support who advised l needed to pay my invoice first for them to consider my case. I paid and they said unfortunately we can not do business with you, from time to time we review eBay users and that was the final say. To me the whole thing did not make any sense. I tried so hard to meet requirements but it seems Ebay does not want to see you succeed but pick and choose who they want on their website. This was very disappointing to me that eBay can do whatever they like without any give warning or consideration that someone has made an effort to create something positive that myself and Ebay can benefit from. I am making sales and your getting your money whats the issue? THIS WAS THE HARDEST LESSON l HAVE EVER LEARNT. NOW LEFT WITH STOCK l COUNLD HAVE SOLD ON EBAY. I WILL BE DOING BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. EBAY CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. DAYS AFTER MY SELLER ACCOUNT WAS GONE THE SENT ME THIS: Congratulations!
