I purchased a pink sapphire bracelet on a Hollander America Cruise ship. The original price was more than $19,000.00 US dollars. I have bought pieces before and knew that was not even close to a reasonable price. After much negotiation; the piece was purchased for $7,700. This was conditional on receipt of an appraisal before the end of the cruise. After 2 hours in the gift shop on the last night; I was handed a blank certificate of authenticity; and a made up appraisal. (I was told that the process was to add 20% to the purchase price of all pieces sold). At that point I said I wanted to return the piece as I had no confidence in the appraisal and this was a significant investment. What followed was a high pressure discussion with 3 staff members where I found it almost impossible to get them to understand that I find the business practice to be totally unacceptable. I had to show them a proper appraisal. Ultimately; they GUA R ANTEED that when I got the piece appraised, it would be worth at least the value of the made-up appraisal and probably more. The store manager gave me his personal email and stated he would assist if there was a problem. I have had the appraisal done; the bracelet is worth almost 30% less than the purchase price. I sent the information to the Manager; who had essentially dismissed me and told me to email customer service ( who will not have the whole story). I have been ripped off; never again!

I had bought effy jewelry in the past from belks and shophq and had no issues. this was the first time I bought from the New York store and was very disappointed.

These items are way over priced. All their jewelry is made to look the same with different stones. The cost and value for their products doesn’t not justify the steep prices and for the same amount can get better quality elsewhere. There is nothing unique or special about the jewelry. Huge prices with discounts to give you the impression you’re getting a good deal when in fact you’re just paying full price at the end.

Customer service not great. My bracelet box was broken. A 2000k bracelet should be impeccably packaged.

The clasp mechanism is terrible. I originally reached out to you to try and replace the one I lost. (,same earring as these ) no one ever had the courtesy to respond. I ended up spending another $2,000 just so my wife could have a pair. After purchasing 15 plus pieces of Effy jewelry this will be my last. Your customer service is very very lacking. I simple call would not have taken much!!!

Think jewelry and case fine but delivery very slow..had to go to FedEx outskirts of town. I would not put up with that again. Beware.
