I would never use this company but mortgage lender insisted. Refused to out me on there online tracker to monitor it, sent docs out in post as said was too late to register but never sent out info to register. Been on hold to them 3 times totaling 4hrs. The documents ts they send out didn't inc one for my partner to sign so now on hold again to get that doc. Worst company ever no communication from them at all, they blamed it on they had no email address and no phone number but its there on my portal. Going to give 48hrs then moving to another company they are that bad.

I really wish I had come across these reviews before I had the mis-fortune to agree to the Halifax using Enact as the middle man for a simple buy-to-let re-mortgage. No stars would have been more appropriate. I was supposed to complete today......but the funds they were supposed to be organising didn't get organised in time, despite plenty of notice. This is on top of phone calls never being answered, requests for call-back never being actioned, and multiple wrong/automatic emails being sent out. I am a buy-to-let landlord, well used to the process of buying and selling. In 30 years, I have never experienced such a woefully inadequate service.

This conveyancing company is the worst I have ever used. I have a small portfolio of BTL homes and have been dealing with a local company for years with no issues. However, when we were switching to The Mortgage Works we took advantage of their free legal package for conveyancing. The age old adage of "you get what you pay for!" is in this case, completely true. Communication has been terrible. The messages I have sent via the online portal are never answered and when you contact via the phone, they are never able to connect you to the case workers or managers. The transfer date originally missed due to Enact asking for a redemption statement for the wrong date and then sitting on the wrong redemption statement without requesting the correct statement for over a week. In the end I had to take it on myself to get a copy of the statement ordered and then forwarded to the case worker. I write this review to warn others, use your own solicitor unless you don't mind your transaction being unnecessarily slow. As we stand to date, there is still no confirmation of whether my case will be completed.

Absolute farce of a company. DO NOT USE. Ours was a simple remortgage. They had no idea what the process was, sent documents out with the wrong names, sent the wrong documents, sent documents with the wrong instructions etc. This went on for months and cost us a lot of money as well as causing a lot of stress.

Worst remortgage conveyancing experience to date. I accidentally made a typo in my email address, so when I didn't reply to the messages they say they sent, rather than contact me through the alternate methods they had available, they just closed my remortgage case. No phone call, no letter, no attempt to speak to my broker. Nothing. Ended up costing me a higher interest rate for almost a month.

Don't bother with this company. They are obviously out of their depth. They have been asking for a document for the last 3 months that actually doesn't exist. A more competent company would have known this and we would now be with our new mortgage provider.

It is the second time that I am using them and I'm afraid this time their service is very disappointing. It's impossible to get hold of anyone, no responses to their online tool and long waits on the phone. They were only quick to get the money for the searches, after that they all disappeared. It took them over a month to check some basic documents that I sent them (ID, bank statements) so I will find someone else to deal with the purchase of my property.

We have been trying for more than a month to complete on a mortgage. They had 8 pieces of identity for my wife ( so much for keeping youir identity safe) They wanted proof of the owner of the house we are buying, Our solicitor sent it off by special delivery , It was signed for. Then they lost it and blamed him. For security reasons we have to move. I studied law for 4 years, This company is so inept as being totally useless there bossses need to get a grip of this placr. Customer servive so poor that it beggars belief. We have moved for work 11 times before. This time Enact have left us graping at there lack of concern or help. Buyers beware!!!!

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I am currently in the process of trying to buy a new build with them acting on behalf of my solicitor as our lender didn't have my solicitor on their vender approval list. They refuse to speak to me, despite me paying their bills and I have no idea when they are likely to action our exchange due to a non existent communication process. We are now risking loosing our purchase because Enact did not get our exchange over the line and time and will not give me a deadline of when this will be. I never complain but I am at my wits ends as their complaints department is non existent and they refuse to speak to me or my solicitor. It feels very hopeless.

4 months in and I am still not at completion. It is a simple case of equity transfer. Unbelievably appalling service.

Enact had 3 months to process my remortgage. It was a simple case and run-of-the-mill. The sort of case they'd bank on for their day-to-day business. To start with everything was fine; then it got to the point where Enact would need to get my redemption statement from my current provider. They supposedly requested one but my provider could not find any such request. I requested several times for information and updates. Eventually with less than a week to go before the intended completion date, I check again and they finally make a request only for it to be incorrect (I don't know if this was the provider or Enact at fault). It took a couple more tries before they seemed to be able to move forward. All-in 6 days late. In short - if you expect Enact to be pro-active and chase for information - forget it. You'll be the one chasing. The staff seem de-motivated and that only reeks of bad management. They're more like a call-centre than a conveyancing firm. tl;dr - avoid if you can. If Halifax read this - how about switching to a different conveyancing company.

I didn’t even want to give Enact 1 star! Worst company I have ever dealt with. Constantly make promises they don’t keep and have cost me a lot of money. Staff are useless and lie. Staff are not sufficiently trained and this is shocking considering they are dealing with large amounts of money. Any slight complexity with a case and they can’t handle it. Do not use enact and if you are going through a bank who will pay solicitor fees get the name of the ‘solicitors’ they are using before you agree! You are better off paying for your own solicitor and getting a quality job done with a company you trust.
