“I bought one VIN report for $1 and nothing more. A few days later I got a message that my Paypal account was charged $99.99 for a monthly subscription that I didn't want and don't intend to use in the future. I contacted EpicVin but instead of a refund to my account they gave me $99.99 in prepaid funds because there's nothing else they can do. That's nice of them but I don't know what to do with it because I don't intend to buy another car or start a business. That's why I'm giving it two stars. But also a bit strange because other customers have received their refunds.
I also tried to use PayPal support but the case was resolved in favor of the seller. They didn't help. They also banned my EpicVin account for this reason.
Be careful with their practices and don't make the same mistake.”
“I purchased a VIN report for $1, the only report I needed, it showed it to be a trial period. It did not state the trial term length. I was charged $99 without notice, 3 days later. The report I received was a basic information that could be obtained from any free website. This is a scam site, don’t waste your time or money.”
“I purchased the $99.99 unlimited yearly membership and I was only able to look up 100 VIN so it’s false advertisement. I buy and sell cars so this was a waste for me. I even tried to cancel with the first took the $99.99 and they told me I needed a better reason to cancel.”
“Scam Alert – Stay Away!
This website uses deceptive tactics to steal money without clear consent! I requested a simple service, only to be forced into an automatic subscription without any proper warning or the option to cancel before being charged. When I reached out for a refund, they refused with no valid justification!
If you're considering using this site, BEWARE! They will charge you without notice, and you won’t get your money back even if you didn’t agree to it. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this scam, and I will be reporting them to the relevant authorities for their fraudulent practices. 🚨”
“Scam Alert: Hidden Subscription Fees!
I recently paid $1 to check a VIN number on this site, only to discover today that I’ve been charged $99.99 for a monthly subscription I never signed up for! At no point during the $1 transaction was I informed about any automatic subscription or additional charges.
This is a clear example of deceptive practices and a lack of transparency. Had I known about this hidden fee, I would never have used this service in the first place.
It feels like this company deliberately traps customers into subscriptions they didn’t agree to.
Avoid this service at all costs unless you want to be scammed out!”
“This is scam. They charge $99 without notification after you subscribe for $1 trial. Reports are half empty and useless. All positive reviews are fake.”
“i had used vin check because it was mentioned 1$ to check the VIN i did not initiate this monthly auto payment but all of the sudden they charged me 99.9$ on my paypal for auto payment- please be careful using this.”
“If I could give a negative star I would . I pay $1 for supposed 3 day use . Then they charged me $99 . They won't refund me so they stole my $99 dollars . don't use them they are thiefs”
“Skam company!! Don't use their services. They charge 1$ for a report, and after 3 days you'll be charged for 99$ for the subscription.
Seems like it's a main source of money they make!”
“This company is not bound to its own terms and conditions. My underage son was misled to look up their one time free vin look up and yet was charged $1. In doing so, he unknowingly checked a box allowing a 99.99 recurring monthly charge after 3 days. On the 3rd day when the charge came through I researched the website and requested an immediate refund. According to their own terms and conditions:
3. AGE REQUIREMENTS FOR USE OF SERVICE.
EpicVIN’s services are accessible to those who are age 13 and older, but those who are under the age of 18 must obtain and hereby warrant that they so they have obtained parental or guardian consent where the parent or guardian agrees to be also bound by these same Terms.
I explained he is underage and they refused to refund my money. Do not do business with this shady company that is not bound to its own terms and conditions and is looking to scam underage children.”
“Do not buy from these people. They charge $99 membership fee falsely advertise as $1. Called them three times and never got a call back. Even carfax charged $20. Scammers!”
