“Charged $1 for one report, i used just google play and now they charged me $99. When I asked for refund, they are offering me to give another $99 worth of report or services. What a scam !”
“Scam 100 %. I was robbed of $100. I have told this company how to stop the bad reviews. Not listening. If they listened to me they would make no $. It’s all based on taking money from people without their knowledge. Epic VIN has a D+ rating with the BBB. Stay clear of this company!”
“Scam alert, I went to their website to check a Vin, they charged me $ 14 and then few days later they charged me $ 100 without my authorization.
Be careful.”
“*************** Very Bad experience
------------
I had a terrible experience with EpicVin. After signing up for their 3-day free trial, I was unable to locate my account to cancel it in time. I sent them an email, but received no response. To my surprise, today I found that I had been charged, and I contacted them immediately—within 3 minutes of realizing the charge. Unfortunately, they told me they couldn’t offer a refund due to their policy, and their customer service was rude and completely unhelpful. They didn’t even attempt to resolve the issue or show any understanding. I find their lack of support and transparency appalling. Their customer service is absolutely dreadful, and I would strongly advise against using their service. It’s frustrating, unprofessional, and a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and avoid EpicVin.”
“Thieves. They are advertising 1$ to check your car history, after you pay and 3 days have passed I was charged 100$ for a monthly subscription at epicvin. I was shocked. Immediately I contacted support to get a refund since this was not displayed at the moment of the purchase, and they replied that they can’t refund. They are just milking people money like this and support doesn’t even care the only thing they say is that they understand but they cant do anything. Worst company ever. Fraud schemes!!! I cant believe this is a company based in USA and operates like this. I hope this issue gets as many complaints to shut this shittyyy company down.”
“Extremely Disappointed with EpicVin’s unprofessional Customer Service
I’m very disappointed with my experience with EpicVin. I subscribed to their service to check a car report i wanted to purchase, which worked fine. However, I forgot to unsubscribe and was later charged for a membership I didn’t intend to keep. When I contacted customer service to request a refund, they refused, citing their company policy as the reason.
While I understand the importance of policies, good customer service often means making exceptions in genuine cases like this. I wasn’t trying to misuse the service—just an honest mistake—but EpicVin showed zero flexibility or willingness to accommodate.
This rigid approach feels unfair, especially for a service that isn’t being actively used. A company’s ability to empathize and work with its customers says a lot about its values, and unfortunately, this experience has left me with a negative impression of EpicVin. I wouldn’t recommend them at all !”
“They are frauders! They are crooks and deceivers. they offer you a trial period for $1 and then withdraw $99.99 from your card as an automatic subscription. naturally, it is there automatically and all you can do is write to support so that they return your money to you. but no one returns the money. so they just stole your $99.99 from the card and say they can't give you your money back. at the same time, they give incorrect reports on cars. I ordered a report on a European car, and they sent me a report that the car was from the USA. A terrible experience!!!!”
“You see, you’re not buying a report for $1. You’re buying a “trial membership” to their premium service. Indeed, their site graphic says you’re getting “unlimited access to detailed reports for just $1*” but that’s not really the truth. You’re getting a 3-day trial that gives you up to five reports, and then they slug you for $50 USD. They’ll do so every month if you don’t catch the subscription charge the first time, too.”
“I was trying to get a free VIN report, but then found it was a dollar. (Scam #1)
The next day I was charged $99.99 automatically because they said I checked a box that said I was trying a trial period.(scam #2) I contacted the manager via email and they refused to refund my money. They have no phone number to call.... How convenient.
Maybe just charge $5 for a report and skip the scamming!!”
“I had an extremely disappointing experience with EpicVIN, which I believe operates in a predatory manner. I visited their website to obtain a vehicle history report and was under the impression that I was making a one-time payment for the document. However, to my shock, I later discovered that they had charged me $99.99 without clear or explicit disclosure of this recurring fee during the checkout process.
The website’s pricing structure is deceptive and lacks transparency, leaving customers vulnerable to unexpected charges. Attempts to contact their customer service for a resolution were frustrating and unhelpful. I feel misled and taken advantage of by this business, and I would caution others to avoid using their services unless they improve their practices.
EpicVIN should prioritize clear communication, transparency, and ethical practices. Until then, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
Rating: 1/5”
“Every single car I checked during the $1 trial had inaccuracies - in particular missing accidents and inaccurate mileage reports. I ran vehicles I knew because how else am I to test it? They let you run a very limited number during the trial and then conveniently charge you a non-refundable $99.99 as part of their broken business model. This company will not survive -- they are only after your hundred bucks, not repeat business. Do not use if you need an accurate report.”
“I used EpicVIN to purchase a single vehicle history report for $1, thinking it was a one-time payment. However, I was later charged $99.99 for a subscription I never knowingly signed up for. The terms for the automatic renewal were hidden in small print and not made clear during the purchase process.
When I contacted customer support, I offered to pay the $15 for the single report, and asked for a refund of the remaining $85, which I felt was a fair solution. This wouldn’t have financially harmed EpicVIN, yet they still refused my request. Instead of being understanding and accommodating, they stuck to their rigid policy, even though I was only asking to pay for what I actually used.
This feels like a deceptive practice designed to trap customers into recurring payments without proper consent. I strongly advise others to avoid using this service. They lack transparency, and their policies are unfair to customers.
As someone from a developing country, where $100 represents 50% of my monthly income, this amount means so much more to me than it would to others. To be treated this way, especially when I was simply trying to pay for one report, feels like a betrayal.”
“The worst scam and experience, I do not recommend them at all. I purchased the pass to view VINs for one month, and when it ended, I canceled it. However, they automatically charged me $100 for the renewal without giving me any option to get a refund. They are the worst and most opportunistic company. If I could give them a zero, I would, because they don’t deserve anything more.”
“Be careful when you pay $1 to get a vehicle report. The $1 is a scam to start auto pay in 1-2 days. You will be charged $99 for a month subscription!!! Fortunately I caught it right after the $99 auto pay was made through my PayPal account and I stopped the auto pay.”
