“Not like they used to be, more recently the steak pie has only been half full with mostly gravy and hardly any meat. Have only been buying when doing a supermarket shop for convenience and when on offer but still not value for money. Local butcher does a fab pie will be going there in future”
“These are the worst pies I have ever had. 60% filled with air. Hardly any Chicken. I just tried thier Balti Chicken. Yuk! Powdery rubbish. Ironic the name Pukka means proper the bizz in Indian. They are anything but. They need to to learn lessons from the Aussies, Kiwis. Filled to the top with lashings of meat, and 1/3 of the price! Shame on you Pukka pies. you should call yourselves Yukka Pies.”
“Bought two alleged "ChunkySteak" Pies from Tesco Drgonville 3 days ago, ate them or tried to, they are really rubbish no meat at all that I coild detect, just gravy. NO More Pukka for me unless I can be assured that they are to return to the quality they were just a few months ago.

“Steak pie, lots of pastry but when opened only 3 very small pieces of meat and not much gravy. Two thirds of the interior of the pie was just empty space! Not a pie at all.”
“Almost like a day's work getting through one of these! So dry & tasteless. Very little chicken inside. One more to get through sometime then it'll be back to chicken pies in the air fryer 😑”
“To the pukka pie company, well today I have just wasted my money buying your so called steak pie. I think a more fitting description is a Grizzle pastry, when I opened up the pie I was surprised to see a empty piece of disappointing dissatisfaction. This is hugely disappointing that a company can send a pie in a cardboard box to a shop and leave the meat back at the factory, but however take my money and that’s that. You say you value your customers but maybe you should value some better catering services. After this day I’ll never hinge my teeth into your pie again.”
“Have just eaten what was described as a chicken and mushroom pukka pie the only thing missing was the chicken and the mushrooms we will not purchase again. What a shame.”
“Just ate a chicken & mushroom pukka pie - pastry was ok but not more than ok! The pie filling contained ONE small piece of chicken and a few minuscule slithers of mushroom - and was filled with a thickened white gloop that must be the 'gravy'. Disappointing is an understatement!”
“What a disappointment! I was lured by the shortcrust pastry but it turned out to be a bad experience. The pastry was like cardboard and I had trouble finding any meat at all. Two or three minuscule pieces. Waste of money! And I have another two in
the freezer!!”
“Looks like ground meat and it more gravy than meat ,would never go back .real pies might be more expensive but they are absolutely filled to the crust with chunks of meat can't beat them.”
“I had always heard that "Pukka" were the go to pie, not sure where that came from.
We popped to the Coop and chose a pair of Pukka Pies All steak, rather than the 15p cheaper coop home brand, what a mistake.
I had two very small (about 10mm) bits of meat, management had one even smaller piece of meat in hers.
Taste wise was OK (for OK do not read great or even good).
I'm pretty sure these would be fine if dished up as a vegan meal, as they have less meat than a cucumber in them.
Would not buy again, I'll save the 30p and grab a pair of Coop pies next time.”
“Something has changed! Come on Pukka sort it out!! I’ve grown up on these pies and was happy to try the cook at home versions. They were great... just like from the chippy. Just recently they’ve sneaked in cost cuts. Definitely. The Chick n mush don’t taste like what it ought to. Pastry too thick. Not enough meat. Flavour has changed. Not happy. They’re not going straight in my basket.”
