“Christmas meat review: Turkey breast joint excellent, no waste, cooked lovely, very tasty. Beef was lovely. had rare, very soft. Only 4 stars because ham one quarter of it was fat at the end and had to cut a lot away, very chewy gristle. Ham disappointing.”

“Meat was on the pricey side but the communications were great and the meat arrived on time. The beef was really tender and had an exquisite taste, not like the joints you buy from the supermarket. I would certainly recommend you try Farmison & Co you won’t be disappointed. I will be shopping them again.”

“For Christmas lunch our main purchase was Farmison’s classic Italian Porchetta. This was simply wonderful. It was the first time we had eaten it and we shall certainly buy it again in the future. The sourdough bread sauce was really good too. Not so good we’re the selection of pigs in blankets - the amount of bacon around each sausage was minimal and they looked as though they had been put together by someone who did not really enjoy the job they had been given and whose heart was not in it; they certainly were far short of the ones shown on the web page. The turkey gravy was a disappointment too - very bland and nondescript. Would I shop for Christmas at Farmison again? Yes I would, they got the big thing very right. But I think things like pigs in blankets and gravy I would prefer to make myself.”

“We ordered a Christmas Ham and it was delivered on the date stated. The ham itself was gorgeous, which I baked with a marmalade and mustard coating. One criticism was the fat layer was very thin indeed and I would have preferred a thicker layer to prevent the ham drying out in cooking.”

“I have tried many of your products and particularly loved your rib of beef, sausages, chicken parcels, lamb skewers, amongst others. However, I would like to bring to your attention that the smoked turkey breast was incredibly dry, didn’t taste smoked (despite smelling of smoke) and was flavourless. The ham was equally underwhelming. I think these products need to be fully revised and brought up to your normal high standards.”

“Extremely helpful and friendly customer services for ordering and delivery. Four stars not five because the defrost instructions on the package did not match the defrost instructions given when clicking the web link to read cooking instructions. Therefore we had not taken the Beef Wellingtons out of the plastic packet and the juices had pooled and made the pastry soggy leading to one of them falling apart. I daresay if we had known (before reading the cooking instructions) to remove the plastic packet then the pastry would have cooked quicker and the beef would have been rarer. Either include the full instructions (which are on the web link) with the delivery (best option), remove defrost instructions from the packet and say refer to web link or at least have the packet instructions reflect the web instructions. The beef wellington were nice, but would have been even better if the meat was cooked less, which would probably have been the case if the pastry hadn't been so soggy! It is a shame to overcook a good cut of meat!”

“Although I cooked the turkey crown to your instructions we found it to be rather dry. Normally I follow Delia Smiths cooking instructions. Plenty of flavour. As we don't cook turkey every week I would like to know where iwent wrong.”

“The ordering process is easy, I can choose the delivery date and the meat is of excellent quality. You do have to know your cuts of meat, though. The beef roasting joint I ordered for New Year's Eve was flavoursome and tender, but being a rolled fore-rib, contained some skinny fat. A little disappointing.”

“Never bought farm food on line was slightly concerned about doing so despite reviews . In the end concerns were totally unfounded. Meat arrived bang on time. Perfectly packed and chilled. It cooked up a treat and was well received by all at the table . Will consider using Farmison in the future, as a result of this good first time order.”

“First things first - the best bacon I have ever eaten. And my family feel the same. Had so many delicious cuts and dishes so far - the choice is fantastic, quality incredibly high. Trouble is, I find it hard to eat supermarket meat now…job done, I guess! Best discovery of 2021 for me!”
