I won't be buying any more chickens from Farmison since I learned they are killed by waterbath electrocution. Just my personal preference. I'd rather buy chickens that are gassed.

Some of the meat has been very good but does not always live up to what was expected after reading info. The minced meat is excellect always but the 60 day aged steaks i purchased last year were terrible, tough and chewy. Asda Extra Special Steak range is superior in every way so were they worth it NO!!. Also ordered half chickens on a offer of 3 for £20. these also were awful, dry skinny and very tough, like old hens. No meat on the breasts at all. Its a shame but have some what lost the trust i started with when first ordering. Back to Aldi Chicken at moment im afraid which is again always very good .Hope my Pork Tomahawkes are as good as last time ,they were very good. Maybe i should have phoned and complaind at time by did not. Should have because of price paid !!

All my previous orders have been great , good quality chicken and beef . My last order I ordered a pre cooked beef joint . It was expensive for what is was even though I had 20% discount in January . I cooked it as directed on the same day and was looking forward to roast beef dinner , It was awful , tough as old boots and tasteless . So bad I gave it to the dogs . I had bought similar from m and s over Christmas and enjoyed it . I contacted customer service the following day to advise them of my disappointment. I have had many orders from farmison and have spent hundreds of pounds with them and this is the first time I have contacted customer service . I wouldn't have bothered normally to complain but like I said it was expensive . The lady on the other end of the phone was lovely and polite and said she would get back to me , that was well over a week ago and I've heard nothing since . So needless to say they have now lost my custom. I will stick to pipers farm instead .

Overall I am happy to use Farmison they have a good website to order from but sometimes the product advertised does not match to what is in the box once delivered and I found the customer service department are very defensive and do believe the customer as in my case as an ex butcher.

I ordered the haggis special with haggis, mashed potato, mashed vegetables, and the sauce. It was very frustrating that the cooking instructions were not included nor on the packaging. You had to refer to the website which I did, but it wasn’t very clear and there were actually no cooking instructions for the sauce. Why not just send out the cooking instructions with the items that we’ve ordered ? it would make Life much easier. The haggis itself I found quite stodgy. The rest was good.

For curries there is lots of fat and big chunks of meat.

Have not actually cooked any of the beef yet. Froze it right away But I was not pleased that the delivery was left on my porch step in full view of the road. My porch door is always open and we heard no bell ring. DPD usually know to open door and put boxes into the pitch

I am a keen home chef and I had a 10-course tasting menu for 20 last week. I used Farmison because I have confidence in the quality, freshness and food delivery. Unfortunately, my delivery was delayed due to a component being late, but I was told of this at 5:45pm on the original dispatch day. I therefore wasn’t able to find a solution to get the meat to me on time. Paul was very apologetic for the very late notice and they managed to get it sent out to arrive a day late. This gave me very little breathing room for errors and put more on my plate in prep. When the meat did arrive, I had an issue with the lamb cut quality, and I had to head straight to London Smithfield to source some replacement lamb rump of adequate quality.

We didn’t care for your beef Wellington that I ordered for Christmas for my home and gave as a gift to my friend. And this is the unanimous opinion: the layer of bacon between the beef and the pastry - ruined the Wellington! The strong flavour of bacon completely overpowered the beef Wellington experience! Your chef should know this!! Will prospect for a different Wellington next year :(

Ordered bronze turkey, venison sausages, pigs in blankets, gravy, bread sauce and cranberry sauce. Turkey and cranberry sauce were quite good, sausages too salty, gravy was non event, bread sauce poor. My previous orders over the years were more successful.

Despite long slow cooking the mutton remained tight and fairly dull. I also felt the gammon was expensive for its size as was the amount of bacon for the price. It arrived on the day I wanted it to arrive this saving me time which was good

Not so great this time. A tricky line with the sausages being a bit too meaty for our tastes. The beef was a bit too fatty as well. A shame as every order up until now has been excellent

Meat was good, potatoes turned up busted up so had to make a plan B / couldn’t eat them - they offered a refund but didn’t seem that fussed. Second year of ordering from here for Christmas. Make of that what you will.
