On the whole I find the hull trains service very useful for my journeys to and from Hull to London which is a regular route for me. One minor comment, I had a problem with chewing gum on the seat London-Hull on 6th July. Reported it to train manager but no response Bill Lart 01472 252323

Friendly staff and timely time-conscious service. Getting a good coffee and freshly baked sourdough would make it stand out from the hellish cattle carts I transferred onto.

Over a great number of years I travel with you two or three times a year from Kings Cross to Brough. In the last two years (mentioning only two occasions) once after Christmas coming back the train from Brough was cancelled and I had to get the local train to Doncaster and then get an East Coast train from there to London. Only last month the train I was travelling on from Kings Cross was cancelled and I had to catch a Leeds train and again change at Doncaster. On both occasions I had reserved seats on the original bookings but not on the substituted trains. I am nearly 80 years of age and find having a booked seat in the Quiet coach is necessary for me so that is why I book with Hull Trains. On neither occasion were we told why the trains were cancelled. I must add though that your staff are most helpful once on board.

The website could be improved. In the price of tickets section there may be multiple prices for a journey. When this box is clicked, only one price is given. There is never a reason given why a certain price within the box is not available.

Was disappointed with seating for 11th Dec 2015 as I had clicked on window, table and forward seating because I can't travel backwards and I have backward travel seats. So I am going to feel sick all the way to kings cross. I book these tickets frequently too. So quite upset really.

Please time the Beverley to Hull train such that there isn't a long wait for the train to Leeds or increase the of trains from Hull to Leeds to 3 or 4 per hour.

Travellled several times recently, sadly often at night and the train is cold. last time our train was cancelled which was a problem as we had elderly family travelling ,seat bookings gone, managed to get a seat for father(he had had a stroke,is 82 and I had to ask someone to move a bag so he could sit down)we did not get seat; If trains are excessively busy and need a hand like this-where is the gaurd? When quiet they are everywhere! most times very helpful.

The trains are fine, run OK and the staff generally polite and informative, though sometimes the train can be running late by up to 10 mins and no apology or explanation is made. However major gripe is WiFi coverage on the line is terrible so much so it is not possible to work. This is at almost all points in the Hull - London trip which is quite unbelievable on the East Coat main line. Its so bad that it is a factor in taking the train. Minor gripe as a regular business user the business support team have been pretty hard to communicate with, in every case a second prompt from me was required to receive a response. I've given up.

Trains clean and tidy but always a tad cold - the aircon makes it too cool and I often find I've a mild headache from it and it makes the journey less comfortable. The service is timely even if the fact the British Rail Network makes it a pain if you miss a train in using another service!

The web site is easy enough to navigate but the telephone help service leaves a lot to be desired

Found generally that tickets were cheaper with First Hull Trains than other East Coast rail providers between Doncaster/Retford and London (e.g. Virgin Trains East Coast) but that journey times were longer and the quality of the carriages/seating/luggage space did not compare with Virgin Trains. I also like that Virgin Trains East Coast are part of the Nectar programme of loyalty points which generally encourages me to book trains via them as they are quicker and offer points although I much preferred the original East Coast Rewards programme when they had the contract for the line as I felt this rewarded loyalty better. If First Hull Trains could offer a loyalty scheme this would certainly encourage me to book more tickets.

Generally pleased & happy to use Hull Trains. Think the Service on the return journey was a little under Par with the staff more intent on having a ' chin wag ' then looking after what was a quiet 1st class carriage. Also overall things becoming a little tired looking & needing refurbished

Carriages are usually quite clean and of reasonable condition. Buffet cart is poor though - limited range of sandwiches and especially poor for breakfast. The only healthy option is porridge which is good but often this is out of stock. The bacon sandwiches etc are dreadful as the whole thing goes in the microwave which makes the bread soggy. The packs of sandwiches sometimes also have soggy bread. I have taken them back before and got my money back. Good that wifi is available for all - very important to have - although it is a bit hit and miss. Train is usually very busy at peak times - desperately needs another carriage.

I have ben using this route and service for 40 years now, since I was 10 years old, and I still can't book the seat I would like, on line or on the telephone, and nobody can tell my why? I would be very grateful if you could? J S
