Terrible quality beckford summerhouse bought from sheds direct . Impossible to fit the windows as per the instructions due to z strips not being correct size - even though video provided of problem - forest garden just kept referring us to the instructions which wasn’t helpful. Would never purchase again

Brentwood shiplap 15x10 shed. Absolute garbage. Roofing felt not fit for purpose as ripped as unrolling it, rips as trying to use it. Pieces of wood supplied are not strong enough to use for roof trusses. Shed sides are not stable as wood is flimsy. Wood panels shrink and leave massive gaps so shed is not water tight at all. Thin plastic sheets supplied as windows which flex not at all stable and had to buy wood to cover all round to make water tight. Now had to buy a couple of fence posts with metal stands to prop up the roof and hold up the flimsy roof trusses. Recovered the roof with roll of rubber roofing felt to make it water tight. Flooring supplied is far too thin to span the shed competently so had to buy boards to go over the top as when you walked on it it bounced and felt as though you would go through. All in all we have spent £500 rectifying as best we can this appalling build of a shed. I would not recommend these sheds at all….. cheap and nasty and not fit for purpose.

waiting for further response from forest garden, shed wet inside, extreme mould on inside of roof, floor wet, inside walls wet. Packets of grass seed sitting in pool of water, these will be no good now. Forest garden advised us, who are pensioners, to clean mould from inside the roof then treat outside of the shed. We were then informed the contract was not with them but with the company we ordered their shed from!! Like a previous customer of theirs if I could give a minus star I would.

Avoid – premium price, poor quality, worse aftercare I purchased a 12x8 Timberdale Apex shed (£1,659.99) less than six months ago, expecting a premium, pressure-treated workshop. What I received has been deeply disappointing. Within months, the internal walls became damp to the point of being visibly wet, with clear staining and early mould forming on the inside timber panels. This is inside the shed, not external weathering. For a product marketed as “premium”, “robust”, and pressure treated, this is completely unacceptable. When I raised the issue, Forest Garden’s response was frankly astonishing. Rather than addressing the defect, I was told the shed is “not waterproof” and was sent a list of “tips” suggesting that the customer must effectively retrofit weather protection themselves. The implication was that I should wait until the shed eventually rots before the 25-year guarantee becomes relevant. That is not a guarantee — it is a deflection. To make matters worse, responsibility has been passed back and forth between Forest Garden and B&Q, with neither party willing to take ownership. This level of buck-passing over a clearly defective, high-value product is embarrassing. A shed does not need to be labelled “waterproof” for it to be expected to keep the inside reasonably dry under normal UK weather. That is the basic function of a garden building. I strongly advise anyone considering this shed to think twice. The specification and marketing do not reflect the real-world performance, and the aftersales support has been extremely poor. I would not buy from Forest Garden again.

Well where do i start i bought a summerhouse in July, and omg the wood was shabby i had people build this for me and once initial frame was up the doors didnt connect right ..there was felt tacks missing , hinges and bolts ..I should of just asked be dismantled then but had took long time as was needed that week so never ..I also had go out and buy more wood as floor was bending when walked on it ...again I contacted forest garden and was told I should of told them about this and because I never got permission nothing could be done .. seriously ? we used 12 tubes silicone as gaps were horrific they reimbursed me £12.21 towards this ..... It all got worse from then on hundreds more spent on it ..treatments..guttering etc etc ..its basically flooded in since July the floor tiles are lifting the newly replaced floor is also ruined and basically after Christmas it needs dismantling .iv had more tears over this than I dare to say ..it just abs soaks threw the wood no matter if rain heavy or not ..literally threw the wood its ruined alsorts in summerhouse also . The responses wernt great and in the end id told them id took this to trading standards which they wernt bothered and said they will await that . They kept saying they wernt waterproof...so I must of been meant to keep it in me house..unbelievable really distress its caused me has been on another level like ...

Ordered a Large Pent Log Store. The order took weeks to be delivered - far beyond the 5 to 10 working days promised. When the log store arrived is was basically appalling. Poorly made, cheap wood, soaked through, making the wood a weak as paper. Definitely do not recommend them.

Avoid the shed like the plague. VERY poor quality. Gaps everywhere, roof an flooring very flimsy . Rough edges on all the panels and the roof felt isn't even fit for purpose. Rips very easily. Just a total waste of money . Doesn't deserve to even one star.

Purchase process was good. Delivery driver excellent. 6x4 Beckwood shed absolute rubbish quality. Ship lap panels are supposed to be smooth, these are as rough sawn as could be. Every nail was red rusty. Some nails not in fully and other missing their target so visible in the other side. Some panels were mouldy. After 2 days the gaps started appearing between the boards as it dried out. Daylight entering from all sides inside. Needed many more screws than supplied to even try to straighten out the timbers during fixing. Roof needs extra rafters to even help support the very thin strand boards supplied. I might even replace them get with thicker boards or even T&G. All in all cheap poor quality.

We bought a 10'x10' shed through BuyShedsDirect and paid for another company to install it. Unfortunately the first delivery had faulty panels (with gaps), then by the time the second delivery of replacement panels had come the panels from the first delivery had developed gaps. Despite the third delivery not being perfect we had it installed as it was way behind schedule. Don't believe the website from BuyShedsDirect which says its maintenance free. To weather proof it (and reduce panels moving and creating gaps) it should be painted as soon as installed. The claims on the website are misleading. Their customer service then told me it needed annual painting. Wouldn't buy from them again.

Poor quality. Every panel bent like a banana so had to clamp and use extra screws. Door had to be planned down as wood to attatch the hinges not straight. Wood started to gape. Shed4life!!! Only if you had a life limiting illness. Bad enough to pay alledged sale price as it wasn't even worth that amount

8'x6' forest4life shed. Avoid like dog truffles on the pavement. Cheap, nasty product. These buildings are cheap for a reason. Flimsy build quality, poor instructions many of which were missing, osb/chipboard roof panels, paper thin roofing felt (that's if you get supplied enough- I was 2 8' rolls short), had to supply my own to finish the job, small panels that make delivery easy but poor structural integrity as there are so many joins in such a small building, don't store anything in this building if you value it, as the security hasp and staple can be forced quite easily with a carrot or a limp willy, the plastic windows are a new one for me and don't believe they won't fade in the sun - they will....they're plastic, don't expect to put any weight on the roof when erecting or once built as any weight on the roof will probably head South quite quickly, a better quality shed for a few hundred pounds more is a wiser investment of your hard earned money. 25 year life span is a very wild expectation. I think a decimal point was missed out . A good quality 8'x6' shed should take 2 people approximately 2-3 hours to erect. This 8'x6' shed took 2 experienced fitters nearly 6 hours to complete. I hope my thoughts help others.

I ordered a small summer house, thought it was fabulous you could pick your own delivery day. Turned up on time, (delivery driver was friendly, polite and very helpful) which was excellent as I had arranged for another company to put it up for me (forest garden wanted £430 to build it) the majority of companies you deal with these days check the order before sending it or at least include a parts sheet, neither of these important steps were taken, upon piecing together the summer house from the vague instructions, we found that bags of screws were missing, no bother my fitters came prepared! However, 2 windows were missing, mistakes happen so I called straight away, unfortunately their not available to speak to on a Saturday so an email was sent and building came to a stop, luckily I had some tarpaulin to cover it all over. Monday morning I had a response to my email stating they were extremely sorry and that I would have to wait a further 5-7 working days for my windows to come. On the website it states everything is treated and will be fine for 25 years, in the email I received it stated to make sure everything was covered well to prevent damp getting in, which seems a contradiction that I didn’t get an answer for when I asked how I should my protect my summer house from the great British rainy autumnal weather. Fast forward a week of waiting for windows and I finally got a delivery date, it had now been 12 days since the original delivery. I arranged for the same company I used to build the summer house to come back on that day and fit the windows, unfortunately the company sent me side panels. I was a bit frustrated at this point, as were my fitters, so I called the customer service line and spoke to a lady who I repeatedly asked to stay on the line until the issue was sorted, she hung up on me so we had to resort to email again, where I was told this would be raised as a high priority, but I’d still have to wait the 5-7 working days for the missing parts. Although they managed to arrange straight away for the sides to be picked up but couldn’t arrange delivery to rectify there initial error. So again, I arranged for my fitters to come back and fit the windows, finally I could have my summer house, maybe not as the windows they sent out were both broken. The customer service team and manager of the customer service come across unknowledgeable about the products they sell, if it’s not in the script they don’t know the answer. Unfortunately I have not had a very good experience with this company and I can not recommend them. Such a bad experience from something that was meant to be so joyous. Please, if your like me and value your money don’t shop with this company. I understand we all make mistakes from time to time, it’s how we manage them that counts. This company unfortunately don’t manage them well.

Delivery was on time and driver extremely helpful and polite. Unfortunately the 8x6ft potting shed is very poor quality. Instructions are extremely poor and wood panels are of poor quality. There were also nails sticking out of various panels and rusty nails. Getting the shed square was extremely difficult and when we put the felt onto the roof it has folds in it. The person building our shed is experienced and said it was the worse he’s had to build.

I can only echo the experiences of others. Ordered through a big retailer, delivery delayed, was fobbed off to Forest Garden, shed arrived damaged and of poor quality. Ended up spending £32 on a new roll of roofing, fixing broken and damaged panels myself. Asked for replacement doors, that took another two weeks and what arrived was soaking wet, mouldy, and made with timber so poorly sawn that it looks like a wet bath towel made of splinters. There's a difference between rough cut and ruined. Customer service is a joke, they treat customers like an inconvenience rather than their source of income. Nothing gets done until you beg them for it and then they act like they're doing you a favour instead of doing their job. Avoid the company, buy from another supplier and check their reviews before you do so.
