“I think Carrot is such a good insurance to go with because it's a lot cheaper with the black box and it's not really an issue. however it can be when it marks you down for driving at a certain time of evening because sometimes i have to go out late or come home late and it makes my score lower that is my only downfall why i scored 4/5.”

“Not really had any problems so far although they take forever to answer the phone, feel slightly tricked however the initial advert said nothing about curfew with black box, anything past 10 for me makes my score lower but what can you do”

“Im writing this review pros and cons. Pro - they fit my black box and it hadn't been working for 2 months they phoned me to inform and didn't cancel my insurance. Cons - they never answer the phone on time, they took two months to actually tell me my black box wasn't working, they changed their minds 3 times either i get insurance or not. Anyway so far they have been fine, nothing has went wrong the dashboard app os working my black box is fine and as much as i was p***ed off at the start i would say if you want to try insure yourself go ahead but the honest truth cheap isn't always they best way to go”

“Most aspects good, had issues with long waiting times when you try and contact by phone. Also would be nice to be able to amend policy miles in first few months rather than paying expensive top up miles”

“you can get rewards by better driving - cash back rewards is always a bonus... although driving scores are not always accurate, very volatile, some times will give you good scores for your driving, and for the same driving, other times will scored badly, very random sometimes. also get scored badly for driving on bumpy surfaces when its not your fault. should remove the more than 7 journeys rule.”

“Stay away from these money grabbers. Very poor company who lives off young drivers. They might be the cheapet but you get what you pay for. Spend that little extra and you will not regret it.”

“Starting with Carrot Insurance, everything was easy, paperwork was sent on time so I can start driving quickly. Very soon things started going wrong. The Dashboard app is very inaccurate, safe journeys would be shown as a -10 sometimes and journeys would be registered even if I am not using the car. 2 hour journeys will be sometimes shown as 5 minutes. Since the app isn't accurate you can't really keep 'track' of your driving habits and does not allow you to improve. Carrot's policy states that two speed occasions will result in cancellation of policy. I received a warning the first time, and have been driving carefully since then, received a second warning and I challenged them. Photos were sent as evidence, and no emails were replied back to. The speeding incident occurred on the 26th July. A car hit my car and drove off illegally on the 5th of July. Acknowledging I had an open claim, Carrot still decided to cancel my insurance on the 18th July. I am currently paying for the full premium even though I have only been driving for 3 months. I still do not have a car because they decided to cancel the policy, but am still paying for rest of the premium. Carrot may seem appealing at first because of the 'low' prices, but black box is only to attract younger customers but in case of an accident, everything will be against you. Please stay away, and pay a little extra to go with well known companies - they're well known for a reason.”
