“from getting my box fitted almost all of my scores were between 9-10 in total so when it was time for my reward to come through, a lot of these scores for usage dropped dramatically without making any changes to my driving patterns, and since the first reward came through this has been more of the same, I've have had to complain about scores numerous times and always get the same response that its been sent to it and someone will be one the phone within the next few days to come and look at the black box, as there have been numerous times that it will still record the car as being driven even when i'm at work and the car is parked with the ignition off. upon speaking with someone from carrot about one of my recent speed scores he had pointed out that a speed of 26mph was recorded in a 20mph zone but this should not of caused my speed score to be -9. if there is any more persistent faults I would like to be followed up with the phone call that is being promised and eventually have someone come and check my box. other than it taking 30-40 minutes to speak to carrot on the phone the reward system works really well and I like being able to check my scores all the time. the feature in the app that shows where your car is parked also is very helpful”

“Cheap and efficient. I have treated them well and they have done the same, for now. So I have nothing bad to say. App could be a tad confusing sometimes giving feedback to the driver Cashback scheme is brilliant for people who are good drivers and I am always wanting to get better to get that extra dough. Overall, Carrot is cheap and a brilliant insurance. I will recommend to people in the future”

“As being a young driver my insurance is going to be quite high for a few years. However, carrot made it even better by getting rewards back every so often. I love that I can also check how I drive everyday and what went well and improvements”

“As my first insurer I am very happy with carrot insurance and my carrot card. Contact with carrot insurance is very easy, the staff are polite and always do everything they can to resolve any problems you may have. Thank you for making me as a new driver feel at ease.”

“After a shaky start of not being able to make contact by telephone, and a breakdown service that was not recorded on their system anywhere it did get better. Received a £50 reward after first quarter however I then received an email that said they had tried unsuccessfully to contact me, not sure how as the email to say they were cancelling my insurance due to not supplying a copy of my licence found me just fine as did the reply when they confirmed they had got it!”

“I took out a policy with Carrot as they were much cheaper than competitors with seemingly less downsides i.e curfews etc. There are very long waits to get through to Customer Support however I have found the advisers I spoke with to be very helpful and polite. I do think it is a little devious of Carrot to advertise that there are no curfews, however you will be severely marked down on your "Usage" score for driving late at night. Overall, I would recommend Carrot to new drivers as the savings are impressive (£700+ compared to non-black box) however I doubt I will renew with them at the end of the policy year as I find their scoring of driving to be intrusive and overall rather inaccurate.”

“How affordable the insurance was is probably the biggest benefit of Carrot. The reward scheme is also useful and really gets you to monitor your driving safely”

“The customer service is horrendous. My black box was fitted incorrectly with holes being drilled into my footwell! The box was faulty, affecting scores and my reward for October 4th still hasn't sorted on November 25th”
