“Home emergency, three days later and still no engineer! No heating and no hot water and have a sick adult in the house. I now have sore throat and ear ache. It’s so cold!”

“They hired a company to do work in our home and the company named EBL made a mockery of it all. Halifax appointed a consultant to help assess the work, he was rude, obnoxious and made any excuse to insist the work they carried out was totally fine! They did a bad job on our en-suite.. they painted over old wall paper, rather than strip it off like the other half of the room and once the weather got warm the paper began to hang off! This is incredibly bad.. considering the damage occurred in October 2020 and we are now on the 23rd July 2021 and the work has still not been sufficient. They are rude, incompetent and they do not care that they hire cheap cow boys to do their work for them!”

“expensive and if you have to make a claim .they send out a surveyor that works for them and will not sanction the payment. all my banking and insurance is with Halifax for over 30 years first time i have claimed and got refused offed me £25 as a good will jester i refused the offer never go with Halifax.”

“Re: home insurance I phoned today to ask a question regarding my daughter starting a baking business from home. I was asked all the usual security questions but as I couldn't remember whether I paid for my insurance with a credit or debit card, (9 months ago) I could go no further. I knew exactly how much I paid and on which date and I offered to give the last 4 digits of both my cards, to be checked but no. No questions allowed. No resolution. Plan cancel and get insured with someone sensible.”

“Nice cheap cost, but you get cheap service. I should have realized when my policy documents and schedule arrived, they were just photo copies, went to make a claim and the staff go from being great to others being very bad. I will be going back to my old company at renewal, it's not worth the hassle from Halifax for the sake of a few pounds. AVOID USING HALIFAX”

“As per usual my renewal premium on my car insurance went through the roof. Even though they offered to look at the price when I said I was going elsewhere I wouldn't renew with them on a matter of principle. As a loyal customer they should have offered me the best renewal price in the first place!”

“Because i Was Late TWICE With My Payment As I Exsplained To Them ,Iv Not Been Well And Have To Come Out Of Work For 6 Months,,,,,I Payed My Payment Aweek Late ,,,But Now My Insurace Was Up For Renew,They Wanted The Money In Full,And Said I Cant Do It In Monthly Payments ,,,I Spoke To Someone They Was Not Intrested In Helping Me, Im Glad Now As Iv Found Someone Alot CHEAPER”

“Eventually paid out for the loss of my fiancees engagement ring, after hours of wrangling with them and their valuers Goldsmiths. If you find a reputable insurer at a similar price, I would recommend going with them instead.”

“I exchanged my foreign licence for a UK licence and when I called to update my details they wouldn't consider my 12 years driving experience and no claims bonus and my policy was going to triple in price (as the computer thought I was a "new" driver). I cancelled immediately and found another insurer who took my situation into consideration.”

“Absolutely dreadful. Messed everything up. Left me without insurance for 6 months but charged me just the same and are now refusing to refund payments. When mistake was uncovered charged me a mid term change charge to sort it out. Customer services rude. Whole thing now in the hands of the ombudsman. Once it expires I shall go back to my previous insurer, would do so sooner but these b******** will charge me if I do!”
