“Home insurance went up by 50% despite no changes to the policy. Let the policy lapse by 2 day (ran out on a sat, called on the Monday). Waited for 28 mins for them to answer only to be told I now had to the new customer desk. 30 mins waiting for some one to pick up.”

“Canceled buildings and contents insurance due to moving house. Charged a penalty for leaving before the 12 month term. Paid online, first transaction said it hadn't gone through so paid again.This morning 2 amounts of £46.77 gone from my bank. Spke to Halifax who insist they only have received one transaction of £46.77. Spoke to the bank who confirmed that two transactions of £46.77 had been taken and gave me times and transaction references. Rang Halifax back with this info and they said that they can not help me and can not refund one of the transactions! How can a company operate in this way. My money has left my bank twice but Halifax insist they only received on transaction!!! 1 hour of my time wasted on their total incompetence. Both women who I spoke to were hopeless, it was like "the computer says no " sketch on Little Britain.”
