They give you a price for your policy then tell you next policy will be more expensive not nice after you just purchase a policy

Beware. Cover with Halifax Insurance isn’t always what it seems. Be wary if listing a bicycle that you believe is worth more than £500 as a specified item. I had - before it was stolen - a bike that would now cost £700+ to replace. So, I listed it as a specified item at £700, incurring an additional premium. After it was stolen, my claim was accepted and I was directed to a “validation service” who said the current version of my bike is apparently built to a higher specification so they could only offer me a bike they said is to an equivalent spec to mine ... worth just £500. So I needn’t have bothered to specify my bike as special and pay the extra premium!!! Not happy. Next - cash settlement value is just £368 “in view of supplier discounts”. What? ... so, at the end of the day, I will receive about half the amount that the bike was insured for. Good deal for Halifax. Bad deal for me.

Or not happy,took out building and contents policy in June unfortunately electrics went haywire Sunday, people came Monday fixed certain things including heating but no hot water 2visits later still no hot water and now home emergency say they are done, although Halifax are trying to do something about it, not too much effort there,we have had to do all the chasing still waiting a phone call, still dealing with incompetence, not sure I would renew policy, never had this much problem before

I am a fully retired 73 year old. I am being trained as a 'volunteer' Watchkeeper in 'NCI - Calshot' The 'Halifax' underwriter has imposed an increase in the premium to cover this . They call it 'commuting' In addition to an increase in the 'Premium' I have been charged for an Amendment to the policy

I rang as I needed to make a small amendment to my policy, which would only need a tick, and was told I had to pay £25 for the privilege. This is far too steep for the tiny amendment, I only wanted to add business use so I could take pupils to a football match. I asked to speak to a manager and was put on hold for a while. The operator came back and said I couldn't speak to a manager and there wasn't much point anyway as they would say exactly the same thing. That wasn't the point, I wanted to speak to someone.

Very disappointed rang once some one supposed to ring me back regarding my claim still waiting ,so I have decide soon as runs out this policy will find a another provider

When I changed my car during the term of the insurance they were unable to swap the insurance from the old to the new without heavy penalty charges. Their quote for the new car was so high I cancelled the policy. Very poor business approach.
