Awful place. They injured a rabbit while in their care, didn’t treat it correctly despite having on site vets (it also hadn’t been neutered or vaccinated) and then when called out on it and a home offered they hid it out the back. Pets at harm more like.

Only giving one star as it won't let me review with less! Swindon store have an injured rabbit in their adoption "tank". Shop assistant says he fell from a height and broke his leg in the store but they haven't had it treated and it has now fused wrong. They will not allow it to be taken to a sanctuary to be treated and rehomed (whether a payment was made for it or not). Rabbit removed to "round the back" so heaven help him. Goodness only knows what has happened to him. The big freezer??

Been in twice to the Aberdeen beach store and both times I’ve found the staff very unhelpful and one in particular was rude. I will not be giving this place anymore trade after spending hundreds of pounds. We have other small independent dog shops where the staff are friendly and polite.

My friend gave up 2 rats for adoption, both with skin conditions and disclosed all their issues. One being the food they didn't eat and one being the bedding their allergic to. Myself and my boyfriend decided to adopt them upon realising one of the rats still had their skin condition but at the time of adoption we were told she was healed. They had also been placed on food that they didn't like and one of them had lost a lot of weight. They were also on bedding they were allergic to. At the time of adoption, we were told lies about the previous owner (our own friend.) Absolutely disgusted with how poorly the rats were taken care of and how they spoke about our friend.

Been asking for a Prescription for our dogs meds for 3 weeks now so we can get them elsewhere. Our dog suffers with bad epileptic fits and takes keptra. Everytime we ring up they say we'll get it sorted pick it up in a few days.everytime we go down there the Prescription isn't done and they no nothing about it. This has gone on 3wks going backwards and forwards not getting anywhere , gotta see the nurse but the nurse isn't in at the moment, that's all you get. Last night he had a bad fit ,he had the last of his tablets which we wanted to avoid. Phoned them this morning and got we'll the nurse isn't in and we have been trying to call you, we'll I'm sorry I'm not having that he needs tablets today , stop fobbing us off. I want his tablets and Prescription otherwise there will be an official complaint. Absolutely disgusting!! 😡😡

After having to negotiate a way round their website to complain about why they still sell animals. They have no complaints form?! They claim they sell responsibly, selling animals through pet shops and online is not responsible. The rescue centers are even more inundated with animals bought from Pet shops and online since lockdown when thousands of people either got bored or couldn`t be bothered to care for their pet anymore. I have recently seen on the website of a charity I support, a small guinea pig bought from pets at home and dumped at the charity a week later because their child who is way too young to understand or have the responsibility quickly lost interest. I complained to them last year through lockdown when rescue centers were busier than ever. Their response was basically along the lines of how wonderful it is to see the look on a child`s face when they get their first pet. Not so wonderful to see the look on the animals faces in rescue centers. Don`t get me wrong, there are many many responsible pet owners. but there are equally as many irresponsible pet owners. a couple of questions in store cannot determine that an animal is going to a loving home. I received a reply to my complaint but put it in the trash without reading as I did not want another reply knowing that they would simply find flimsy excuses to their continual exploitation of animals. If PAH really cared about animals they would not profit from them.

(1) Told to stand and wait for over 1 hour whilst badly injured cat was taken away for injuries to be assessed. (2) Told cat needed general anaesthetic, and urgent treatment for injuries, and would cost £500+. I agreed to pay. (3) Then told to take it home and bring back following day for that treatment, because they were about to close (3.30pm!) and there would be insufficient time for cat to recover from treatment. (4) Told that if cat became worse overnight, to phone any emergency vet (not them) with an overnight facility. The general impression I got was that the only important thing was my agreement to pay £500+ the bill was £649.95! The cat has survived so far, despite being nursed overnight with gaping wounds before treatment, but I will never use them again

We purchased dwarf cross rabbits for our children from Pets at Home, being told that they would grow to dwarf rabbit size, and bought the recommended hutch size from them. However, they both grew so large that neither of my children were able to handle either of them and the hitch sold was totally unsuitable. I used to breed dwarf rabbits and would say these were twice the size of an average dwarf. I wrote to Pets at Home on more than one occasion, and they were not in the least bit interested. I think once they've made their money, there is very little care there. If I could give no stars, I would!

I purchased two sucking loach fish from Coventry Gallagher pets at home - did the acclimatising correctly as you do ... my tank had been set up with 4 fish in before hand completely fine for a few years ... after adding the fish correctly for an hour or two they were okay darting round the tank swimming eating etc . My brother came round and noticed they were acting a little strange ... swimming up but floating back down like they were lifeless ... we decided to examine the fish to see they actually had white spots over their bodies ... now we would have got them checked but this was after stores were closed. However they didn’t make it 4 hour after purchasing these fish they had died ... cleaned my tank removed them and added all fresh water ornaments and gravel along with my 4 fish I had to start with years ago... all well and good until I woke up this morning popped to the shop and one of my black moors had passed! What the hell had pets at home fish got wrong with them to kill them selfs along with my beautiful fish

Me and my partner adopted to male rats from these! We hate seeing animals housed in pets at homes as they are highly inappropriate for the animals, so the lady came over to sort them out for us and to do a medical check on them, she was frightened of them as she kept saying they bite, so clearly she couldn't be botherd, but she said they where over weight but no medical problems, she also told us the two boys had come in with other rats but where not aloud for adoption, that was a big red flag but we took them home still, journey to our home they where sneezing like crazy, so they where housed in a different room to our other rats in our care just in case, all the rats already in our care had no medical problems and fit and healthy, day after the boys had bin in care all our 9 rats had sneezing and wheezing issues and two where really lethargic, we took 4 to the vets, cost us emergency vet bill prices as it was urgent, day after that our two lethargic rats one passed away aged 7 months and the other was fighting so hard to stay with us, we then decided to take the two adopted boys back as we struggled to look at them (heart breaking for us!) Pets at home yet again didn't check just took them in, so then we decided to challenge pets at home and find out what was going on and why they had allowed 2 seriously ill animals go out for adoption, they quickly went very defensive and tried blaming us, refusing to let us see the boys medical records, they are refusing to reinbursed our nearlly £400 vet bills they cost us and we can clearly tell they are hiding somthing! DO NOT SHOP, ADOPT OR VISIT THIS EVIL COMPANY!

We took our schnorkie to the Groom Room in Dunfermline for a cut and shampoo, but will definitely not return! While her fur was lovely and soft, the cut is terrible. Loads of bits missed on her head, paws and all over really. She looks really scruffy with such an uneven cut. I could have done a better job myself blindfolded.

Absolutely disgusted with abingdon pets at home, came in to have a peaceful shop and end up hearing a tall colleague proper shouting nasty at another colleague. There is a time and place where you do this not when people are trying to shop. Feel sorry for the girl

Visited Chingford store today to get some cat litter as usual. Noticed no security on door and no anti bacterial gel to hand. While inside Noticed a Senior staff member walking around shop floor amongst customers with**No face mask spurting out orders to her staff. Also noticed a middle-aged woman customer wearing no face mask being allowed to walk around shop floor when wearing a face mask is still mandatory nothing has changed. **MUST DO BETTER**This gives a bad impression to customers during a pandemic lockdown expecially with what's happening in Covid Europe and in India at the moment.

Don’t buy pets from pets at home I was there for 10 years and know a lot about the over breeding program they have . If you have a problem about the breeder you have to stay quiet about it 95% of them have bad issues. The guinea pigs are to young and to small always coming into store with ring worm. The rats have bad breathing problems and the rabbits arrive in tiny cages stuffed into them

Bought a puppy toy and seam split in less than 24 hours. Poor quality considering it is a 10 week old and small breed
