Let me just start by saying I’ve used Pets at a Home for years prior to today and I never had any problem with them. I was a regular at Regents Road Retail Park stocking up for my dog and using their groom room. I signed up for a VIP card years ago and always went into the store, giving my phone number at checkout, Ive never had any real perks from the card but the service has always been great so it never bothered me. Today I went into a Pets at Home in Yorkshire and was made out to be a liar over having a VIP card as she couldn’t locate me on the system. As you can imagine from my point of view it was very embarrassing and I ended up saying it didn’t matter just to get out of there. I called the customer service line to try and sort it out. The First customer rep I spoke to was polite and tried to help me. The second one that she put me through to, on the ‘VIP’ line - I’m absolutely astounded that you hire people like her. She spoke to me so rudely and sarcastically, to the point it made me so mad I had to put the phone down. All I wanted to do was try to establish why I’m not a VIP member when I signed up at regents retail park and ALWAYS, gave them my phone number that was registered with no kickback. After today’s experience you’ve lost a valued customer. Your customer service has gone to pot.

Used the Groom Room and paid £32 for the "Full Groom" for our dog. After paying he was brought through to us - perfectly clean but not one hair of his shaggy fur had been cut! Wrote a letter to customer services but have not had a reply 5 weeks later. There is no other address for making a complaint.

The website is slow and difficult to find what I was looking for. So had a go at Live Chat which disconnected. I wanted to check the price of Denamarin 425 mg as i had eventually found it after many attempts and it was £75. I only bought some in late Nov/early Dec and it was £50. So why the price hike? Found what I was looking for on line at Animed for £54 so won’t be going back to Pets at Home anytime soon. Later I got an email asking me to review my shopping experience - I duly completed the questions but there was no way to submit it. Maybe the system picked up my low scores? 😤😤

Disgusted today my sister and I were charged £4.50 for a dog charity but the amount was just added to our bill we weren't asked if we wanted to donate....we rescue dogs ourselves and find it difficult when from December 1st we have paid for dinners for dogs but which Rescue is the money going to....but today we weren't even asked the money was the first amount on our bills so slyly.....and on our way out the rspca were asking for donations at least you know were your money is going disgusting should be more information about the rescue this money is going to....probably the bank of pets at home....disgusting...

Delivery service: For the third time I ordered (and paid £4.95 for) next day delivery. For the third time I did not get it. The £4.95 was refunded each time, but the first two times half my delivery went to somewhere else in the country and the third time DPD have just decided to deliver it the day after. Not good if you have the day off to receive the delivery. Staff were very helpful when I phoned to complain about this, but there is nothing they can do to remedy it. I cannot be the only one to have this problem, I wonder if Pets@Home really should, in all honesty, offer a next day delivery service

Disappointed with Groom Room at Warrington. Cavichon now looks like a terrier but the groomer thought ‘he looked cute’!! Furious. Completely shaved .except for a tuft on his head! Will never use them again.

I mistakenly ordered using the wrong payment method online a week and a half ago. Within half an hour, I had followed the instructions set out on their website to cancel the order. So far I have had no replies to my two emails, facebook messages or tweet. I have 3 boxes of things I don't need or want and I am now £100 out of pocket! On top of that, the cat scratcher I bought from them also had a chunk of metal sticking out of it!! Such a shame, as up to now I had only ever bought my pet stuff from pets at home, and unless they manage to pull an amazing apology out of the bag, I doubt I'll ever buy from them again! Next step will be to report them to citizens advice/an ombudsman. Seriously unimpressed.

The northwich branch has rude staff, made me wait to be served for such a long time I put my things I wanted to buy back and walked out. Smelt rotting cat food and noticed a badly damaged box on shelf so assume it was from that, they were even selling that box full price!!!

I bought a dog bed for £55 & after just 3 weeks it was torn - store manager refused to exchange saying it had been chewed - the tear had been enlarged by my puppy - a complete waste of £55 Vets4pets nearly killed my older dog & failed to give kennel cough vaccine to my pup until I reminded them The checkout staff are lovely but I will never return to this store

Ordered Royal Canin Recovery food for my cat which is normally dispensed from my vets but the price seemed a lot better at Pets at Home plus they guaranteed delivery before noon which would of been ideal. Well the parcel arrived in the evening at 6.30 which having paid £9.95 for noon delivery was shocking. I also had to get this food from my vets at lunch time as I had none. I have emailed Pets at Home but no reply. First time Ive used them and will definitely be the last.
