Giggster scams. We were held hostage by a host from Giggster who forced us to pay cleaning fees and repairs for something they broke. We were held hostage in a neighborhood where someone got shot on the same block and were not allowed to leave the venue until we paid the host his extra money. Giggster took the host’s side. Watch out guys!!

Hi, I'm Elena and lead the Customer Success team at Giggster. Thank you for your feedback. Your refund request concerns payments made directly to the host for damages. Unfortunately, Giggster cannot issue refunds for transactions not made through our platform. We have reviewed your case. The evidence supports the host's decision to charge for damages and rule violations. Giggster remained neutral, as our policies limit intervention in off-platform transactions. We wish we could offer more help in this situation. Your understanding is greatly appreciated, and we're here for any further assistance you may need. Best, Elena

The idea is really good! BUT they charge 1.5x the rate if you are still on the premises BUT outside the meeting room. So even if you go to the bathroom OR are cleaning up they will charge you 1.5 the rate. I thought this was a nice alternative to hotel rates BUT in retrospect much better to work with hotels to book meeting rooms for their flexibility and clear price structure.

This is a useless and, frankly counterproductive, app. After choosing dates a venue is supposed to be available for booking, Giggster takes a credit card number then waits 48 hours before confirming. In my case we were told the venue was not available on that date - what is the point of the app if it does not display available dates? Useless

Hi, Thank you for your feedback and voicing your concerns! I’ll be transparent - not all hosts keep their calendar up-to-date, that’s true. However, we detect such cases and either highly encourage these hosts to sync their Giggster calendar with their external calendars, or delist such properties to keep our inventory vibrant and professional. As for the booking process - hosts have 48 hrs to either accept a booking request or decline it. To streamline the process, we ask the renter for their credit card information, so that they can be instantly charged once their booking request gets accepted. You do not get charged unless the booking was finalized. I hope this answers your questions/concerns. Best regards, Elena Baterovska Head of Customer Success

Horrible company if you're a host. They don't add extra fees and still take a lot from you and the renter. If you're a host they withhold your payments for a couple days after the booking is over. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate of the host. Horrible company bad communication. Very sneaky and scammish. 0 out of 10

Hi, My name is Elena and I lead the Customer Success team at Giggster. Thank you for your feedback. However, I must controvert your statements. Giggster issues payouts to hosts on the day of the shoot/event. The only exceptions are: 1) Payouts to new hosts - in that case our accounting requires several business days to set up a new host in the system. All subsequent payouts are issued without delay on the day of production/event. 2) If there is a complaint from a renter, we put a hold on the host’s payout until the complaint is resolved. If after a careful investigation we come to a conclusion that the complaint is based on facts and the location was not as advertised/there were issues during the booking that were the host’s fault, we will deduct the refund amount from the host’s payout. I hope you understand that as a platform, we have to protect both sides, the Host and the Renter, ensure both parties receive the services they have paid for and enforce the Location Agreement signed by the Parties. Any Giggster user can be both a Host and a Renter (and many of our hosts rent out locations on Giggster too!), so protecting a customer’s right to receive the services they have paid for is our priority and it benefits every party involved. Regrettably, I didn’t quite understand the passage about extra fees and bad communication though, so if you could elaborate on that more, we would make sure to look into your complaint and improve our services accordingly. You can find more information on Giggster fees and payouts here - https://help.giggster.com/en/articles/1050122-a-host-s-guide-to-giggster as well as browsing our FAQ portal or checking out the Tutorial available to all our Hosts in-app. Best regards, Elena Baterovska Head of Customer Success

Giggster claims you must be atleast 18 to use their service. They allow children under 18 to book events through their platform. I assumed the person I was dealing with was a legal adult as we are entering into a legal agreement (contract) but he was only 17 years old. I booked his event at MY BAR. My landlord csllled the police and everyone had to leave. I lost $1,000 for closing my place to regular business and was never paid a dime from Giggster or the child that booked that through here. When I contacted them they said you have to be 18 and that I am always welcome to check a client’s ID, which I did when I met him. This is all online, nothing in person when you are booking. When I sent a screenshot of their website that claims EVERYONE must be atleast 18 to use this service, Giggster replied with stating that my case was closed. I would hate for other business owners to go through this. STAY FAR AWAY

Hi, Thank you for sharing your feedback, however, upon checking with our logs, I couldn’t find any bookings for your account. As a platform, we are not responsible for any transactions that do not take place on Giggster. Regarding the permitted age of the renters, as I replied to you in our Help chat, renters are required to be at least 18 years of age to book on Giggster, however, it’s up to the host to check the renter’s ID. We answered your questions in the Help chat and have welcomed you to reach out with any questions twice, actually, before closing the ticket. If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact our Support. Best regards, Elena Baterovska Head of Customer Success

Worked with this company. The location they presented on their website was dirty and did not look like the pictures. To top it off they also overcharged us without any permission and completely ignored our complaints about the location. Giggster is not an honest company. Buyer beware.

Hi, Thank you for sharing your feedback! We would like to address your concerns and once again explain the reason why you were charged for the overages. According to Giggster Renting Rules - https://www.resources.giggster.com/post/giggster-renting-rules, which every Renter is suggested to review and has to agree to at checkout, if the Renter has any concerns about the location, they are required to: 1. Address the host with the concerns and give them a chance to resolve the situation on the spot and, unless, this turns out impossible: 2. Contact Giggster Support immediately and let us know that there is something wrong with your booking (a short message would suffice). Unfortunately, you did not inform the host of any issues and voiced your concerns only several days later, after you’ve been charged for the extra people that showed up at your event. Regrettably, you did not provide any proof to substantiate your complaints. The host filed a claim for the additional people that attended your event (the ones that you did not pay for initially) and provided us with evidence to substantiate the claim. You were charged based exclusively on the evidence. That being said, we are still working on this claim and had to contact the host to hear his side of the story as well and will provide you with an update in a direct email as well. Thank you! I booked a venue for a birthday party and the host advertised pictures of a completely vacant room, however the actual space partially stored his art supplies and only offered to move some of it, as well as art on the walls for a price of $50 dollars. I also would have had to spend an additional $250 to buy and/or rent drapery to cover the many supplies the host refused to remove. When complaining to Giggster they rejected my concern, believed the dishonest host, gave me back half of my funds and causing me to lose out on almost 200 dollars. The evidence I supplied clearly proved that this was false advertisement, but Giggster did nothing about it. Horrible experience and would NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE TO USE! Found a much better site with a completely better experience.

Hi KVM, Thank you for sharing your feedback! We’re sorry you didn’t find the location to your liking during the post-booking scout. We’ve reviewed the incident again. Unfortunately, we haven’t received any evidence of the listing being misrepresented on the site. The photos in the host’s gallery show the space empty, with artwork on the walls and a TV. The equipment stored at the location is mentioned in the description of the listing. The host also responded that he was willing to make it work for you and remove the artwork/allow drilling the walls for your own artwork, albeit for an additional price and was willing to remove the couch, which you declined. The host has been responsive to our concerns and said that he is ready to adjust the space to your needs so that you feel comfortable during your event, so we objectively couldn’t hold the host liable for misrepresentation. But since you decided to cancel the booking, we issued you a 50% refund 24 hrs after your inquiry as well as sent you a $100 credit towards a future booking. Please let us know if we’ve missed something in our review of the case and let us know if we can help with anything else! Best regards, Elena

If you’re looking to cancel after 24 hours of booking, expect to not receive your full refund. Only 50%. Would never book a venue with Giggster again. PeerSpace at least allows you 7 days after booking. Go with them instead.
