“Quote was for £320. When i clicked to buy and was redirected to Hastings Direct it rocketed to £410,. Complained to Hastings, raising a complaint with financial ombudsman”

“Well I tried to buy my car insurance from you on line. But when I tried again to buy the £221 you quacked me, then suddenly went to £271.... WHY was that ? So I had to go some where else.”

“I purchased my car insurance and for some unknown reason my cover start date was 19 days later!!! Basically I made a claim online, I paid, I then called immediately after approximately 2/3 minutes after to check I can drive immediately, I was refused!!! They offered to refund but would take 10 days! I’v not got much money due to personal circumstances right now so unable to cancel and pay same day as i was also advised it would take 10 days to be paid back into my account. I literally just paid for it!!! Surly they could of amended the start date!!! I called go compare and was advised they are unable to assist!!! Outrageous, so go compare can refer you to a company and assist in a process but cannot assist when a problem arises! I’m never purchasing through go compare ever!! Actually didn’t help and clearly I wasn’t going to get help so was points arguing.”

“I tried to take up car insurance for my partner for her, all went well,then as I was using my email address as she does not have one it kept coming back to me all the time even when I put her name in it was a waste of time surely you can buy something else on your e mail address.”

“I had a quote from Grove & dean for £296 but when I entered their website the price was £706. I took the insurance with one call and within few minutes I asked them to cancel it but I was told they will penalize me if I exercise my legal right to cancel the insurance during the 14 days. This is rip off”

“after taking time for car insurance a list of very good quotes I selected one only to find a phone call had to be made to secure it very annoying as I have a totally clean sheet begrudgingly I made the call twice to be held un a cue. if I had wanted to get insurance on the phone I would have done it in the first place”
