They may not be the cheapest, but Halfords are one of the most professional garages that I've used. Fast MOT times (none of this "come back later" rubbish), online progress tracking, and decent knowledgeable staff.

Byfleet Halfords Autocentre. Took 2 days to complete MOT and Service, trumped up charges for parts. Originally £234 for Full service and MOT to just under £800 including parts. Lack of communication when promised, made me waste 10 hours waiting just to be told won’t be done till the next day even though he said to wait a couple more hours and it might be done on same day. Absolutely disgusting attitude on the phone, misleading sale of back tyre even though on MOT it passed with original tyre. He said they missed it during the Full Service so obviously didn’t properly carry this out considering the cost of the service. Absolute will not be giving any business to Halfords ever again.

I must thank Kat, at the Stretford Auto Centre Manchester, yesterday afternoon 25 th October. For assisting with a tricky electrical issue. I've been using this site over many years and the team are excellent.

Manager Gavin Fletcher made our appointment at very short notice which was a life saver, was really helpful and gave advice to get the most out of our car.we would never use any other garage for our cars..always delivery good service and customer care

I booked my car in for a service at the Bishops Stortford Autocentre & found them to be incompetent & lazy. Booked in for 08:30, arrived early to be told I'll have to wait all day as they only had one member of staff working. When I questioned this I was told they can't start yet anyway as they were yet to receive the parts. When collecting I was very specific that an entry on the online service record needed to be made due to it being a lease vehicle. On two occasions I was told this had been done. I enquired with the UK vehicle manufacturer and was informed a service entry had not been made. fortunately, the Halfords call centre staff were able to assist. Had I not enquired I would have received a considerable bill from the leasing company & the warranty would have been void. To top it off, I checked under the bonnet and the whole area was covered with oil - a signature of the shambolic service I received. I booked with Halfords Autocentres as I read many positive reviews however it seems the garage at Bishops Stortford falls far below the standard set by others.

Took my car in to Letchworth for a MOT today, my 1st time with them, afterwards my recently bought & fitted dashcam from the Halfords Store no longer switches on when I turn the ignition. I checked the footage and it shows a staff member getting into my car and from then on it not turning on, meaning they disabled it and never resolved it. I have not idea how to fix it meaning I'll have to go back to the Halfords Store. I'm certainly not going back to the Autocentre I don't trust them at all now...

Disappointed to pick up my car after it’s mot and service to find nearly a quarter of a tank of petrol had been used. Absolutely Disgusted as due to the petrol shortage they had obviously been using it to run around in will not use Halfords again

29/04/2021 I gave the car to replace the brake caliper, 30/09/2021 I gave the car to MOT, which turned out to be negative due to the same caliper, for the replacement of which I paid 164.65 pounds. I demand immediate compensation for work that has not been done or done by people who have no knowledge and skills

An absolute disgrace of a company, with untrained staff. I went to buy a battery for a Vespa scooter. They (Catford) said they didn't have it, but checked on the system and sold me an alternative from the storeroom. I duly fitted it, inly for it ti short the bike out, catch fire and leave me stranded 20 mikes from hime. They are not admitting liability, so 1500 repair bill, losr earnings and paying for public transport. Amateurs with a spanner.

I ordered a bulb to be delivered to the Autocentre. They provided me a different bulb explaining that I shouldn't worry that the packaging indicated the incorrect bulb the enclosed bulb was correct. It wasn't.

WARNING WARNING - Inexperienced engineers and staff, services are only as per a check list, if your car has a DPF or uses Adblue they have no knowledge of how or what is involved and you should go elsewhere, they serviced my brand new £30,000 van from new and gave false information regarding a warning light, their incompetence has incurred me a bill to replace a DPF in excess of £3,000 due to a Pats fluid tank not been topped up or even advised…..the manager agreed that they should have known this and offered compensation only to then retract the offer. Being a customer for over 15yrs means nothing, if anything goes wrong, tough… it would be interesting to see if they reply to this review, maybe a standard ( we’re sorry to hear… please contact us to discuss… etc..)

Halfords Tunbridge Wells quoted me £1500 for cam belt and water pump on Skoda octavia, euro Skoda main dealer did job for £780 . When I rang Halfords the man said wow . Must be embarrassing for him to work for a bunch of rip off merchants . Make sure you get prices from honest garages so you don’t get caught out by them

I took my car into halfords autocentre in Loughborough for a minor sensor repair ,I wasn't given a fixed price but was told it was an easy job to do and i watched a video of it on google,a simple bolt to be undone and When I picked my car I got a bill for £293.I was charged for a new oil filter which was only 3 months old and 3.5litres of oil. I could have bought these from their own shop for £25 but was somehow charged £72.I wasn't asked if I wanted any additional work done and looks like I have been charged 3 hours labour for a 30 minute job. I feel ripped off and over charged

I had repairs done as FSG in Calverton and they told me that both my window wipers needed replacing, the driver window wiper was fitted by Halfords only 10 months ago. So I asked FSG not to replace the wipers I would go to Halford as the driver side was under 12 month warranty. Anyway its turns out that only the passenger wiper was damaged. Halfords kindly accommodated me and sorted it out, even though they didn't need to. I rang FSG back and asked why I was told that both wipers needed replacing when they didn't, FSG said what had been written down!! feel let down by FSG who I trusted and pleasantly surprised by Halfords, who kindly sorted things out for me.

My Girlfriend took her car in to change a headlight bulb and they done a so called free 5 point check on the car, which didn't actually happen, no one done a check on the car, then sent an email saying there's an issue with the battery that they never checked, the email stated 'they couldn't find the location of the battery and that she needs to call the autocentre to book the car, FOR WHAT? 1. your fully trained staff can't find a battery 2. The battery is clearly fine as there's no issues with the battery 3. Stop trying to con people with the fear that the car is not safe to drive creating stress and anxiety

Booked car in for diagnostics check, 11:30 was told be 2 hrs, went back after 2 hrs still parked up in same spot, said if im not willing to wait then to book it in different day. Still waiting................

The centre manager at Halfords Autocentre McConechys of Leith’s customer service is exceptional, I was on holiday & popped in as I had tyre pressure light on & I suspected I had a slow puncture, the guy made no fuss, I left the car, went for breakfast, within the hour he called & reassured me after checking the tyres everything was ok, he reset the tyre pressure and no charge was incurred, all done without an appointment at short notice
