After ringing several times, the pre recorded voice “didn’t recognise” the 2nd option on their named list. Eventually got through to local store and spoke to a very helpful man who gave me another number ( not listed) and I succeeded with my enquiry. Prior to all this however I was put through to an overseas call centre and spoke to a woman whom I could barely hear as she was very quietly spoken. Three times I asked her to speak a bit louder but she just kept ignoring my request. She was polite but I found it very difficult and a struggle to hear her. This has put me off of dealing with Halfords in future with all this palaver and phone calls. Where has the days of phoning and getting put through directly gone.?

Avoid Halfords Autocentre Strood there try taking your money. Had my mot done in January and failed which is fine had it repaired and take Friday for retest to be told it not be fixed properly so take it away to be repaired and take it back friday for to tell them there no appointments till today. Take it back down today to be reset because the only day there had free to be told can’t get a retest because your 10 days is up you need to pay full prices. But don’t tell me this on Friday. This is probably the reason there can’t get me in till today because there want more money from me. Which there can think again because I am not going back. Had my test redone and the advisor halford autocentre done are nothing wrong with them so looks like there trying rip me off but don’t work.

Halfords damaged my car and as part of restoration efforts they put all the old parts back. Not only have I received no refund for the service which was undone I have also been forced to take my damaged car to a garage and pay for a 3rd party report at my own expense as they don’t admit liability. The coils where fine until you touched them and a 3 year old car with 20,000 cars from a German manufacturer do not have these issues. I really hoped you would do the right thing and now I’m having to take you to court to recoup the damage done.

Their customer service is not good and the quote I had for repairs was way too high as they use premium parts

Could not reset service warning light on Range Rover and did not help to rectify. Had to go back to main dealer and will have to pay for another service for them to reset. Very poor service and poor after care. AVOID!

I visited Garage 262 in Wokingham today and I was helped by David who was very friendly, efficient and helpful. I will definitely be returning for any further work on my car in the future.

I took my car in for a full service. I was kept up to date when it would be ready, which i found very helpful. The Airdrie staff were so polite. The manager Victor went above and beyond with great customer service. I wanted to use some Halfords gift card as part payment and he sorted it out for me. A very polite man, a great representative for your company. Thankyou. It was at Airdrie709

Took car to St Albans 8am for diagnosis of rattling under wheel arch - car under warranty. They phoned at 3pm to say it was the main drive shaft, not covered by warranty and would be £700 to fix. I contacted the dealer I bought the car from and told him. He called the warranty rep who said the repair would be covered under the warranty and who contacted Halfords St Albans to ask why they had told me it wouldn't be - but got nothing in the way of explanation. The dealer asked me to bring the car back to him and took it for a drive with me. He is confident the problem is NOT the main driveshaft and, even if it had been, the £700 quote was extortionate. In his words, Halfords were trying to con me, as a female who had no idea what the issue was (and knows nothing about car engines) and had blatantly lied about the repair not being covered by the warranty. Never going near Halfords again.

Had the car booked in for it’s mot the start of last month, told instant fail due to left arm and ball joint. Paid for repair costing over £220 to then book it back in as problems since with a clunking sound, told engine mount needs replacing. Another £150. Still clunking and banging and tonight car started to stutter and dropped at the left side of the car and left tyre suddenly completely flat. Luckily my kids were not in the car and there could have been a serious accident, absolutely fuming with Halfords as I have been extremely patient with them after being told on the second occasion they couldn’t see a problem. Clearly the problem has been caused by Halfords as there was no problem with the ball joint before it was taken there. Going to be contacting them tomorrow morning and seeking legal advice. Should not be trading or even touching cars when they clearly haven’t got a bloody clue what they are doing. Honestly never again.

If you want to get a bad attitude with backchat from security guards with superiority complexes, go to Walsall (Bescot), you’ll be satisfied (for once at Halfords).

Never again Hopeless, went in for a service and MOT, plus spark plug change, 11000 miles only, no problems, left with a car that wouldn't accelerate properly in any gear. Left them to look at it another day and was told no problem found after driving it. Insisted there was and they finally conceded that one of the spark plugs was cracked. Was as if they were trying to fob me off, but they eventually changed them (only have their word, no trust in their services), seems ok now but when I said was a potential safety issue and after spending loads of money my car was worse than before, they said it wasn't their fault. When I first picked the car up, a piece of trim and screws were in the passenger footwelll and had to get a mechanic to fit it, just sloppy all around - happy to take your money but not ensure you get the standard of service expected. Wouldn't shop at a Halfords store now as a result. Stress and hassle for hours for lots of expense. Avoid.

Very expensive. Will not go back. £634 for MOT/Service, pick car up and its rattling really loud. Take it back and tell me it's the back wheel bearing and its dangerous to drive. Quoted me £300 to get the work done. I said no, your too expensive. Took my car to Basford garage, they did the work fast and charged me half the price quoted by Halfords. It doesn't end there, as this was 6 months ago! I get Klarna charging me £129 for the MOT/Service from Halfords. I have to ring Klarna to explain I paid on my card and did not use my Klarna account. Will not use again!
