Efficient admin when I requested invoices for my tax return

I have only held my policy for 21 days so I've not had a claim - nor do I want to obviously! Setting it up was very pleasant and efficient with no problems. My reason for choosing Inspire was that premiums are said to remain the same no matter how many claims you might need to make. My husband had PMI with another company and after having a triple bypass 3 years ago they increased his premium nearly threefold so making PMI unaffordable for him. I was attracted to Inspire being told that does not happen with Inspire insurance. Any increase in premium in subsequent years I was advised would be only 5 - 10% in line with inflation. After reading other people's reviews I feel alarmed that what I have been told is not necessarily what would happen! I have just re read my policy documents and yes, all aspects do seem to be covered as Nicky reassured me when taking out the policy. What puzzles me is why so many people write reviews saying their experience has been to the contrary? There are many comments in the reviews that premiums have risen alarmingly and settlements for treatment have sometimes been hard to obtain. I was quite happy with my choice of Inspire for my PMI until I read all the reviews, but now I'm a bit concerned. Please advise!

I never had any problems with April UK. When I called to them first time well-trained staff been able to answer for all my questions.

Took the spire cover 2 years ago, did not claim anything during the first 12 months, the rate was still competitive after the first renewal, took a number of claims on year 2 with constant struggle once you go pass the initial consultation, healix handles the claims and the process is extremely stressful specially when you have to go outside spire (when treatments are not available at Spire). Policy covers spire hospital fees but many shortfalls related to surgeons, consultants, local anaesthetic, etc. The authorisation process is too long as the senior nurses keep questioning the consultants recommendations. The fee also jumped by 40% this year and I am stuck with it as I am unable to switch to different provider due to existing case.

Everything was going ok, had authorisation for consultant etc. Problems after this include - lack of call back\information from April UK. A day before surgery I had to call yet again chasing for another authorisation number for the operation - turned out they hadnt contacted the consultant to get procedure codes etc. I had to continually chase thoughout the day. Then April UK flatly refused cover using a typical "get out of paying" - using a symptom listed 7 years ago - but not linked to actual diagnosis! I am moving all my company insurance policies away from April UK after this experience! Will never use them again! And April - please dont reply "please contact us to discuss" because if you really wanted to correct this - you would have better customer service to prevent such things happening in the first place! April UK have treated me disgustingly and they should be ashamed of their money grabbing ways!!

The policy premiums sound cheap at the on start £162.00 my wife and I, but beware, my wife claimed for double cataract operation, total cost £2000, April UK contribution to this was £1458.60 max with they say a 10% goodwill gesture added, leaving a personal shortfall for me to pay of £541.40 plus £100 excess plus £20.20 for would you believe her eye drops. Over 25% additional cost to me personally. Can't find any literature on shortfalls in there brochure and was not told this on the phone when signing up feel very misled. They say they work off a reasonable rates scale, again this is only told to you when you make a claim not when being drawn in to sign up. Again Beware

Dreadful. They stopped my treatment and billed me for going over my outpatient limit. I had to contact them over 10 times over 2 months then they finally admitted I was not over my limit and should have continued treatment. They don't reply to emails and if you call them they constantly contradict themselves. To add insult to injury they bill me 3-% more than my physio bills them for each session. They say it is an admin fee. I think it is a rip-off!

Purchased comprehensive medical insurance from inSpire range as well as accident & sickness cover for a very competitive price. Have considered PMI for some time & have been previously put off by cost of cover, but as long as you live near or close to a spire network then this is excellent value. Jo Fry was very friendly & talked me through the various options available to me. All correspondence was delivered exactly when she said it would be, and it was very prompt. Haven't made a claim as a new customer so no comment on this process, and that's the reason for 4 stars & not 5.

I took out the policy after reading good reviews about April and what they told me and sold me seemed to be what I wanted. Absolutely disgusted with what I was told when I claimed. Symptoms more than 2 year old so we cannot pay out for time of work or for my hospitalisation. Quick to sell quick to take your premiums but dont bother claimiming as you wont get anything. Very disgruntled customer Paul Chapman.
