Good value but intentionally slow customer service. Once you’ve ordered, that’s it. If you try and change an order, even immediately after placing it, you’ve no chance.

We do try and adhere to cancellations/amendments where possible, but we do try and dispatch orders as quickly as possible, so we cannot always adhere to the requests and your order was dispatched within hours of it being placed. Shoes are pretty but after wearing one day the front has already scuffed and they are ruined.

Good deal on the buy one get one half price before September so thank you for that but unfortunately both pairs too narrow for my son so need to return. Your returns policy is outrageous. Correct me if I'm wrong but according to your website either you buy a return label for £1 when you buy your shoes, or schoolshoes.com will deduct £4 from my refund if I drive it myself through the Royal Mail? Also, I paid though PayPal who operate a "free returns if you buy through us" policy so I await your reply on how I can return these shoes for FREE please. Regards Robyn Belben

Dear Robyn, Thank you for the review and I am sorry to hear the shoes did not fit as expected, at present, we do not offer free returns, this is something we continue to monitor and hope to implement in the future. To counteract this, we offer every customer the option to buy a prepaid returns label for £1 extra & we cover the rest of the returns postage. We also allow one free exchange per order, should you need a different size. I’ve contacted you regarding a refund and not heard nothing back. My son wore his shoe for one day and the front as coke away these or poor quality. Please may I have a refund. The other pair are great.

I paid £10 for next day delivery but, because the delivery needed a signature (this wasn't clear on the website), they weren't delivered for three days. I didn't get email confirmation of the order which was worrying. I used the email form on the website and sent a direct email but didn't get a response until I phoned. I was disappointed that they didn't refund my postage.

Dear Helen, Thank you for the review and I am sorry to hear you are displeased, I would just like to clarify a few points you have raised above, if I may. We did send confirmation of the order to the email address provided, this was sent to you on 08/09, it may have filtered into your junk mail inbox but we did confirm the order. In regards to the signature, I have spoken to Royal Mail about this who have confirmed that all deliveries are still contactless due to restrictions they put into place for Covid so I am unsure as to why a signature was required, they do however request that some one is available to take the parcel in with it being a Special Delivery. We did not receive any communication via the website from you and our first point of contact with you regarding the delivery was when you phoned in and we checked the tracking, which explained that the item could not be delivered as no one was available to take the parcel in. We did rearrange delivery with Royal Mail for the next available date, unfortunately we cannot refund the postage costs because we did dispatch the item on a Special Delivery for the next day as requested by yourself, but I am sorry there was a delay in receiving the shoes. I am pleased to hear you now have the order and can only sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Kindest Regards, Sonal.

WAAAY to big! At least an inch of space at the heel. Had to go and buy other shoes i(in the same size) and hope she grows into the big ones!

Ordered on a Wednesday, didn't arrive next day, despite paying for that. Was given the excuse about time of day item was ordered, however item still not dispatched on Thursday the following day either! Got notification they were dispatched on the Friday, arrived on Monday. That's not next day delivery in any way, shape or form. Not compensated for delay, so pretty poor in my opinion. I know these are men's sizes, but still fairly expensive despite being sold as "school shoes". They were needed as shops were still not open at that time. 26/05/2021: I was contacted by a member of School Shoes staff and offered a 25% part refund if I amended my review, naturally I accepted the offer. However, that 25% equates to my express delivery charge being refunded as it wasn't met, plus another £6 or so for the inconvenience. Better than nothing and at least they care about their image, shame they couldn't get it right the first time.
