“Our windows are large wood casement windows with divided lites about 100 years old. They are beautiful but are single-glazed and drafty--we needed to replace them. Our city has a law that mandates replacement windows that can be seen from the street be the exact same look and materials as the original. Replacing like for like would have been VERY expensive. I found Indows while researching online for a reasonably priced alternative. With the new inserts, the original windows did not need to be replaced and we got the approximate equivalent of double glazed windows for sound as well as heat!”

“Bought the windows to help with traffic noise that was echoing off a building. (I cannot hear it anywhere else in the house). The room has double hung drywall with Green Glue to reduce almost all sound transmission through the walls/ceiling. The rest of the noise comes from the windows. After installing the Acoustic Inserts, they did not do much to mitigate the noise level coming through the window. I was fairly disappointed.”

“From viewing their very informative Web site, to working with my assigned representative Reed Nicholson - and then following their very well written measuring instructions (printed and video) using their supplied laser measuring equipment - I ultimately received exact fit Indow inserts for my kitchen bay window just before winter weather hit...and am now enjoying frost free windows above my kitchen sink area for the first time in years following a whole house window replacement project at which time I had triple pane windows installed everywhere but in the north facing kitchen bay window. Thankfully, Indow's innovation corrected this oversight on my part - just wished I would've done so much sooner!! And I see first hand why This Old House was so positive about Indow as well!!”

“I am extremely cold sensitive. We live in Chicago and moved from a well-insulated apartment to one with old windows and poor heating. New windows were prohibitively expensive, and were not allowed by the building. We got indows for all rooms. It has made an amazing difference. The temperature is up by several degrees, and I can no longer tell in what direction the wind is blowing! You can clearly feel the difference if you put your hand next to a window without the insert and then to one with the insert. I think the indows provide just as much insulation as new windows. The do require set up, and opening the windows is no longer so easy, but it is worth it. They also require storage space, if you are going to take them off during the summer. We also bought the storage sleeves.”

“my windows used to be very drafty, you could feel the cold air leaking inside the house and every morning I had to wake up to drying all the water on my windows from condensation. After buying and installing my window inserts I was surprised to wake up to dry windows and no more draftiness. my home feels warmer, condensation issue has been eliminated and my home is quieter a big plus.”

“A nice product and excellent customer service. Installation was a little tricky until I figured out the best technique-fit both ends in first, then work from both ends to the middle. Haven't had them long enough to have an opinion on performance or durability.”

“The windows are aesthetically pleasing and have made my home very quiet and more comfortable. The whole process of measurement and delivery of the windows was done very promptly. There were thorough instructions for measuring the windows and installing the new ones. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.”
