Not even close to the noise reduction that I was hoping for. Save your money and buy some earplugs.

Lamar, We are sorry to her that you are not experiencing the noise reduction you have hoped for. We are now reaching out to you to troubleshoot the fit and placement of your inserts to ensure you are maximizing the sound reduction. As our inserts have been independently proven to reduce sound entering through window areas, usually adjustments to the fit and placement will correct the problem. That said, every sound environment is unique and sometimes further soundproofing methods must be used in conjunction with our inserts to achieve the sound reduction level one is aiming for in a room. Thanks for the feedback. We hope our troubleshooting efforts can add three stars to your review.

Product concept is great, however the quality isn't there, i still feel air coming through it. The best remedy for leaky windows is to replace them. Cost is too expensive for such a frame with clear plastic layer. I can't justify paying $ 150 for one window insert while the cost to replace a whole window is between $ 300 to $ 400. Its a waste if money. I can't justify the cost for such a product. Had it been lower cost, would have made more sense to buy it. My advice, don't waste your money.

I expected more noise reduction from the insert. It isn’t sound proof.

Francesca, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction you had hoped for. We will reach out to you and ensure fit and placement is not affecting the performance. As all sound situations are unique, there are many variables that can contribute to sound entering a room. While our inserts have been proven independently to significantly reduce sound through the window openings, it is sometimes necessary to utilize other soundproofing measures in conjunction with our inserts to achieve the desired results. Variables such as wall and home construction materials and the proximity and nature of the sound can be at play and can transfer sounds through areas other than the windows. Low frequency sounds are especially hard to mitigate as they can be transferred through walls, etc. Once again, we are happy to help you maximize the performance of your inserts and will reach out accordingly. It is our hope that through some troubleshooting, we can improve the sound reduction.

Got the window for sound reduction. Didn't make much of a difference. For acoustic purposes, they need higher quality material or maybe not adverstise this for acoustic purposes.

We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction you had hoped for. Although our acoustic inserts have been shown through independent tests to be effective, due to the many variables in sound environments, sometimes additional soundproofing methods must be used in conjunction with our inserts to achieve the desired results. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to be available to assist with troubleshooting fit issues, etc. to ensure you ae getting the best performance out of your inserts.

I bought the inserts to reduce traffic noise in my bedroom. Although the sounds are slightly diminished, it is really not that much of a difference. I am especially surprised because I have very deep windows and have a good two inches between the glass and the inserts. I thought these were the ideal conditions to reduce noise with the inserts.

Rene, We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction you were expecting. We will reach out to ensure that all fit concerns are addressed. Because every sound environment is unique, other variables may be in play other than the sound traveling through the window areas. Sometimes, other soundproofing techniques must be used in conjunction with our inserts to achieve the desired sound reduction.

Geoffrey, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction to the point that it has helped to ease the strain on your wife's tinnitus. While the independent tests have proven the efficacy of our acoustic inserts, all sound situations are indeed unique. We certainly have not made and cannot make claims about our inserts improving a medical condition such as tinnitus. We can offer to help troubleshoot the fit and placement of the inserts to ensure you are maximizing the sound reduction properties of the inserts. We will reach out separately to pursue this assistance. Once again, thanks for the feedback.

Ordered two inserts, one fits okay, the other has a gap. I will mitigate the gap when I get the chance by altering/shimming the window frame. From standing near the insert that fits, the results are really unsatisfactory. I was simply trying to prevent my rude neighbor’s dog from waking me up in the early morning. That goal was not achieved; not even close. I still clearly hear birds, people talking and love volume, slow moving passenger cars and dogs in my bedroom. The sound is dampened, slightly, but I was hoping to really attenuate the high frequencies. I understand that treble bounces and bass permeates. Understood I wasn’t going to defeat the sound of say a garbage truck or helicopter, but the performance for the cost just isn’t there. These were a waste of money. If effective, I would have done multiple rooms. The salesman knew my objective: dog vs. Indowondow. Was told these inserts were the solution. They were not. Just glad I only dipped a toe and didn’t order for all bedrooms.

It didn't work well in my condo. I can still hear the train from 3 miles away & turkeys in the backyard. I watched every single YouTube video & instruction I received & contacted Indow corporate (whom were helpful) however it still didn't help. It reduced the noise a tiny bit but not worth $700. It may be my outer wall.

Valerie, Thanks for engaging with us. We are indeed sorry that you are not experiencing the sound reduction you had hoped for. We are happy to be recognized for our service and helpful response but are sorry to hear that we were not able to completely solve your issue. Although our inserts are indeed proven to reduce sound coming through window openings, it appears that, as you point out, it may be construction materials in other areas that are contributing more to your particular sound issue. As all sound environments are different, it is sometimes necessary to use other soundproofing measures in conjunction with our inserts to completely solve a sound issue. Thanks again for the feedback.

Package arrived on time and the quality of the product seems to be accurate. Very clean and easily installable. I personally have not experienced any difference In outdoor noise though. Birds chirping, dogs barking, vehicles traveling on a road over 1000’ feet away. I’m sure the insert has some quality in saving energy but that was not why I bought it.

James, We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction that you had expected. Although our inserts have been independently tested and shown to reduce sound coming through the window openings, all sound environments are unique and provide unique challenges. Other materials in walls can transmit sounds as well. Sometimes, additional soundproofing measures are needed in conjunction with our inserts. That said, we are happy to troubleshoot with you to ensure the sound reduction properties of our inserts are being maximized in your space. Thanks for reaching out.

I purchased an insert for a window in a bedroom with one window in the hopes of reducing outside noise. The insert fits perfectly like they stated it would but I notice no difference in sound deadening. The sounds I was looking to block were barking dogs, light traffic noise, birds chirping but I am still able to hear all of it as if I never spent 500$ on some plexiglass with a rubber grommet around the edges.

James, We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction you had expected. As you know, sound situations are unique and have many variables. In some cases, additional soundproofing methods are needed in conjunction with our inserts. It sounds like you do not have any obvious fit issues, but we would be happy to troubleshoot to ensure the placement and fit are maximizing the sound reduction properties of your insert. Also, to be a bit more specific, our inserts are made from optical grade acrylic and a patented silicone tubing surround. Thanks for the feedback.

They don’t seem to minimize as much noise as I thought they would. They do fit snug into the window as expected.

We purchased the inserts for our bedroom mainly for road noise and also AC noise. Cost for the one room was 3000.00. We did have some challenges installing but did make adjustments. They did help with AC noise but did little or nothing for road noice. Still hear the cars go by. We had much higher expectations than results! We feel for the cost they should have reduced much more noise! Seems many others feel the same.

JK, Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the sound reduction performance you had expected. All sound sitautions are unique and often sounds can enter through areas other than the window openings. While the independent tests show the effectiveness of our inserts, differences in other construction materials in the home and/or the source and character of the sound can necessitate using other soundproofing methods in conjunction with our acoustic inserts. That said, we would be happy to work with you to ensure your are maximizing the performance of the inserts.

I was so hopeful that these inserts would make a difference with the traffic noise on our street coming through the windows but unfortunately I cannot tell much difference at all.

Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the noiose reduction that you had hoped for. From our records, it looks as though our fit specialist had previous conversations about the many variables involved in mitigating low frequencies. All sound situations are unique and sometimes require additional soundproofing techniques to help reduce sound (especially the low frequencies discussed) entering through areas other than the windows. That said, we would love the opportunity to troubleshoot the fit of your inserts to ensure your are getting maximum performance from your inserts.

I don't notice much of a reduction in sound - just a little, but not sure it justified the price. The room is warmer though, that's helpful. The liner on the inserts ripped putting it in according to the directions. That was disappointing.

Honestly, I don't think the indow inserts help much at all for noise reduction. The technician warned me that they would not block low wavelength noise. They do not block pick-up trucks, vans, and of course larger trucks and motorcycles. They may help a little with cars.

Julie, Thanks for the feedback. You bring up a good point about the role of our inserts in a sound situation. While they have been independently tested to reduce sound coming through the windows, wall construction and the frequency of the interceding sound are among the other factors to consider when soundproofing. All sound situations are unique and present different challenges. At Indow, we are committed to assessing your window situation and recommending solutions for sound reduction in the window openings. We are happy to troubleshoot with you ensuring that you are maximizing the performance of your inserts.

First off...Pandemic. I get it. The measurement process was horrific. I got my indow over a year after ordering only to find that after installing it, I'd get about a 3.5 dB reduction in mid to high frequencies with the only window in the room. Ambient noise is diminished a bit but was it worth $500? Hardly. $100 ? perhaps. The wait time is excusable, the communication between my sales rep and I after numerous emails, and him never getting back to me after being quick to sell the product? inexcusable. I'm sitting here really missing that $500

Thanks for the feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not experiencing the noise reduction you expected. All sound situations vary depending on construction materials used in the building and the nature of the sound. Often sound can travel through areas other than the window openings. This, of course, would necessitate other sound mitigating methods. That said, we are happy to troubleshoot the fit of your inserts to ensure that you are maximizing the noise reduction properties of the inserts.

The overall construction is not bad though the sound reduction aspects as advertise is pretty underwhelming. While it helps damper normal noise (talking, birds, low ambient noise) it does nothing for cars/motorbikes or distance trains/planes.

Adam, Thanks for the feedback. We pride ourselves in the quality and performance of our inserts. Our products are built to last and provide excellent energy savings and noise reduction. All sound environments are indeed different, with many factors such as wall construction/materials, etc. Also, low frequencies (due to the properties of the sound wave) are the most difficult to mitigate and can travel though areas other than the window openings. That said, we would be happy to trouble shoot the fit of your inserts to ensure that you are maximizing the noise reduction properties. Thanks again.
